Remove K/D or D/L (whichever you prefer)

Recommended Posts

Thanks to Tanki's more of dumb system, if you damage someone, but he/she doesn't die in 15-20 seconds, you won't get a single point. So it's possible that you are dealing lots of damage, but you are not getting a single point for that.

I would preffer if a killed mammuth gives more points then a killed hornet.

it's actually hard work to kill a DA mammuth.. so if they give more points, the points would reflect the work of the players in a better way.

Meh. Never seen anyone get teased over their K/D, and TBH, why should I care? It's a game. If somebody gets so upset about their K/D, they should probably stay off the internet.

Then a lot of people would leave if we all went with your solution. Like many other people have said in many other topics (like the drugging one) the solution is to not simply walk away from the problem, because if you do, that problem still exists and will come back another day and give you more problems. If you solve the problem, then you don't need to worry about it coming back after you.

Blackwasp77's solution is probably the best one we have at the moment.

Kd/Ld is important to find out if player is mult or not. Cuz like ok ok ur a xp player but your d/l wont be that bad as in then ik ur just bit better then mult but like still i would know ur not that good....

You don't know as much about the game as we do.. How can you judge a player by D/L, I even heard in parkour battles, you're k/d is affected.. Only ignorant people judge by k/d..

So far a;ll the posts I saw from you, are ignorant..

Kill stealing in DM is skill... The whole point of DM is kill stealing.

I've also reached that conclusion...  the way to win in DM is to steal kills unless you're really good with a drugged up railgun (I'm not).

In general - if you see me in a deathmatch it's because I have a mission, a friend invited me, or some other such reason.

replace the K/L ratio by a "points/Loss" ratio.

The number of points per loss is far more important.

e.g.:

- Flagrunners die often.. but a good one pays off during the battle. They have a bad K/D.. but good Point/L

- Campers can be as productive too, if they hit many targets (high point/loss). If the just sit around and care for their K/L then they are useless.. - those will have a low point/L

- ...

I think you have a good idea here. Whether or not d/l (/ k/d) remains, it would be good to have some statistic (or set of statistics) that better reflects the skill and effort players put into the game. Some of that factors that should be taken into account include the rank, armor, health and pharmacological state of the enemy, healing of teammates with isida, contribution to capture of control points, and contribution to flag captures.

I think the Perm gang has the math smarts to come up with something that meets these requirements.

I have seen at least one conversation in chat where a clan leader cited a low d/l as a negative in consideration of a potential member.

I also am less than pleased with the DM scoring system where only the player who deals the coup de grace gets points, while all other contributors to the kill just get to lick their wounds, but I guess that peeve belongs in another topic.

My own rather dismal d/l is partly due to my extensive use of isida. I guess I'll have to take the points and friends it gains me, along with my "doctor" badge, as compensation...     :)

And being a drugger doesnt make you GOOD,you need good skills to kill everyone even if you on druggs...

Many clan players, helpers are drugging and they good

I think that players with D/L over 1.5 are mostly buyers or constant druggers

Points thing is complicated, devs not measured those dates .-.

D/L is one statistic that measures how good you are at killing and avoiding death, but it doesn't always measure how effective you are at winning the game or how fast you are killing opponents. It can correlate, but not always. I have been in games where me or my teammates have a ridiculous K/D ratio, but my team still loses b/c we have been neglecting capturing the flag or capturing the point. Also in DM or TDM, you can have a very impressive K/D ratio, but if you aren't killing tankers in a fast enough rate, then the other team or other enemy tanks may win just by being more aggressive and quickly racking up kills even with a lower D/L. I have won DMs against people with a better K/D ratio in game, but because I was more aggressive, putting my tank on the line, and kept killing at a faster rate, even though I was dying faster, I still got 1st place. You can be a total coward or camper and get impressive K/D, but still lose the main objective if you focus too much on your stats sheet instead of winning.

With my argument in mind, my K/D is currently 2.26 and my alt, Thefishdude, is 3.66. Does it mean I'm the best player in the world? Absolutely not. Is there a good chance that I'm at least decent at this game? Most likely.

I know it's super annoying when Vulcan-Mammoths or Shafters or Twins-Titan/Mammoths brag about their D/L, like, you're gonna sit on your fat butt and brag about your D/L? Really?

Lel, I'm glad I've been an offensive player all my Tanki career with Mammy. I sternly defy being a lumbering (or camping) target. I like to dive straight in.

This would make a lot of sense for parcour.

I wonder why they managed to deactivate the Wasp's weight for parcour withing a few days (after the microupgrade update) - but this little task seem not to count.

ps: but well ok, I understand. Weight kills parcour.. while a statistic does not prohibit you from using drugs.. it makes you use more of them.

As far as I know, no kills or deaths are counted in Parkour Mode. As for removing your K/D, are you ashamed of it? If it's too low, ignore anyone calling you noob. If it is high, ignore anyone calling you a drugger.

You just want it removed because yours sucks.

Well, that's your opinion. :) I think it's decent, noobbie56.

If you think I suck because I have a "bad" D/L, take a look at my most used hull. -_-

Tanki stated it clear that they are displaying monitorized info (well, the one that can be made public). Is interesting to see how many tanks a specific player destroyed and how many times it got destroyed, but that's about it. The K/D comes as a logical extension of info displayed. Some players might think they get an idea about others players's game style by looking at the K/D overall ratio, however. Everyone is free to give the meaning they want to give.

As long as K/D is not displayed under some sort of "Achievements" tab or "Ratings Top 100 Players", I don't see any reason to worry.

Ok found that noob who i was talking about

SRXqy3e.jpg

Yes, she never shuts up about it! She even reported someone when they had a better D/L than her, look through the last 2 -3 weeks of chat violation reports and you might be able to find it still.
