Hello guys This is a guide on how to play on Montecarlo CTF lets start with a brief description of this map

Brief Description

Monte carlo is a map that unlocks on First segeant and is mostly played in CTF mode this map

is unique as it has a fast paced game and is very tough ( if both teams are tough ) and has a lot of slopes and jumps which requires good driving skills when attacking .

The Gold drop locations can be found on http://en.tankiforum.com/index.php?showtopic=234421

The predictable drop zones of supplies can be found in the tanki wiki here http://en.tankiwiki.com/Predictable_Drop_Zones

Now its Time to discuss the turrets that are usefull in this map

Turrets

as monte carlo is a big map lets discuss all the turrets on TO that how they work on this map !

Firebird

This is a gun that has a burning effect but it has a very minimum range

and any turret can blow it up without even getting hurt from range and kill

the firebird due to fires minimum range it is just not the gun for this map

Freeze

This is a gun that has a a freezing effect but just like firebird it has minimum range

and any one can kill it from range without the freeze damaging him so This is also

not the gun for this map

Isida

This unique gun is essential for every battle it can heal allies and in monte carlo heal the

defenders or go attack and heal the attackers

Hammer

This gun is unique as it does have a short range but can be quite helpfull in defending

as it can flip an enemy and can defend pretty easily as it can kill every tanker who is jumping

to get our flag one shot can disbalance the tank and eventually it will fall off but if a enemy comes

form the bottom with a ranged gun it can easily kill you and you have to run to escape him on the other

hand attack can also be done as once you have entered the base you can kill nearer enemies

but in attack u have a risk for an enemy to kill from behind just like isida , freeze and firebird.

so average for this map

Ricochet

This gun is unique in this map for both attack and defence as it can kill hiding enemies in the downer side

and can also disbalance attacking enemies and can be used for attack like hammer but can Die from range

just like hammer so this gun is also average like hammer for this map

Twins

I just dont know what to write as i have never used it or seen somebody else using it in monte carlos :P

(i do play alot on this map) so any help is appreciated ;)

Smokey

This gun is awesome as it gives a critical hit and has a good amount of range as well as a

huge amount of punch to flip enemies as i mentioned this ma has a lot of obstacles. it can

be used for both attack and defence and is ideal for this map

Vulcan

This gun has a huge impact force and a good amount of damage ideal for defence and covering mates

its impact force is too much that it can flip an enemy easy and kill enemies and cover attackers

ideal for covering and defence

Thunder

This gun is my personal favorite for this map as it has a good amount of range not that much imact but

the splash feuture can kill camping enemies better than rico as rico doesnt contain range

good for both defence and attack and is ideal for this map

Railgun

Many people believe that railgun is best for this map as it has a good impact force long range

and is ideal for attacking covering and defending its penetrating shot is also helpfull on this map

so railgun is also ideal for this map

Shaft

A gun perfect for defence and covering it can easily kill targets in one shot as mostly hornets , wasp

and hunters which attack it can also do a great covering job and is also very famous on this map

and is ideal for defence and coverage.

Now lets move towards Hulls

Hulls

hulls dont need a detailed description as heavy and medium hulls are for defence

and light hulls like hornet , wasp and hunter are for attack (viking can be used too)

so lets only discuss the attacking hulls

Wasp

wasp is a hull with a lot of speed and can jump easily on the cliffs to get flag but due to its less weight

and low health it can be easily flipped or killed but this only makes you loose the flag as your team can still get

the flag and capture it but worst cases are that it receives a huge impact and falls of edges so a clever wasp

when feels that hes gonna fall off the clip should release the flag before falling allowing mates to get it

Hornet

the most poppular hull on this map can attack and jump just like wasp and has a bit more health and can survive 2 or more shots and has a lesser chance of flipping or falling of but it is still very easy for vulcans , shafts and rails but

it does get difficult for smokeys and thunders that can flip wasps

Hunter

A hull that is amazing as it can jump and doesnt receive that much impact but it needs time to turn and it need

time to jump and needs a proper run up not like hornets and wasp who can jump very easily this time is a disadvantage allowing enemies to kill this hulls flipping over can now only be done by a vulcan when reach your base but it becomes tough for shafts and rails .

Important : hunter can only jump with a nitro while hornet m3 can jump without it but with recoil force a hornet m3 with about half microupgrades i think can jump without a recoil on the other hand wasp m2 can jump with recoil but wasp m3 can even jump without recoil on the other hand a viking m3+ (m4) can jump with a nitro but with recoil if the following requirments do not meet then u will eventually fall of the cliff. but jumping iwthout nitros on hornet wasp and with nitro on hunter and viking as mentioned above needs some skills , practice and perfect timing , wrong timing can lead you to fall

Now its time to discuss what are the paints

Paints

I have only mentioned paints for higher ranks

maybe I will add for lower ranks later

So here they are which are popular and good enough for this map

Savanna  40% = smokey , 20% = rail , 15% = ricochet

Jade        45% = shaft , 25% = smokey , 12% = thunder , 15% = hammer

Prodogi    46% = railgun , 22% = thunder , 15% = shaft , 5% = fire

picasso    20% = thunder , 25% = rail , 30% = shafts , 20% = freeze

girrafiti      50% = vulcan , 25% = shaft 25% = twins

there are other unique paints but these are what i think are best for this map maybe others use some other paints and think those are better so any help or suggestion appreciated ;)

Tips and tricks

lets begin here are some usefulls tips and tricks

  • you can jump on the other side of your base through the jumping ramp where the enemy comes and at the end near the cliff there is a ramp put mines there and kill enemies near you and even you can kill enemies who are defending on the bottom side and on the slope by leaning a bit
  • you can also attack from the bottom side as well as the front side and through the enemy base on their jumping ramp or drive all the way thorugh there base with our jumping ramp
  • sitting on the roof can be very helpfull as many enemies die there
  • when you get enemy flag and you dont have a nitro through which you can jump back through the enemy jumping ramp but turn left in their base you will see a block where mostly railguns take cover jump just before that block of wall without touching it and you will fall on the downer side road
  • shafts can camp on the downer side on the starting of the slope and kill and zoom enemies coming from the downer side

Key and map

te_carlo.png

in this guide i used some terms here are what they meant for

so the place which is in purple circle is the ramp

the place in red circle is the slope

the lime yellow is the jumping ramp

the blue is the blocks through which rails take cover

NOTE : these terms are not used in TO i only used them to explain

GUYS PLEASE NOTE THAT ANY HELP REGARDING THIS TOPIC

IS HELP FULL SO FEEL FREE TO SHARE & IF I MADE ANY

MISTAKE FEEL FREE TO HIGHLIGHT IT THANKS !

Hunter

A hull that is amazing as it can jump and doesnt receive that much impact but it needs time to turn and it need

time to jump and needs a proper run up not like hornets and wasp who can jump very easily

I'm surprised you failed to mention use of nitro. Wasp M2 and M3 can easily jump without nitro. With Hornet M3 it's really difficult without nitro and only a little bit easier when you have full MUs. Hunter and Viking can only jump with nitro and Viking only at full MUs and with help of its gun. Shooting forward while jumping with Hornet without nitro or with Viking with nitro tilts the hull backwards and lifts the front, preventing it from bumping into the wall and falling into the gap. It's impossible to do it with non-recoil guns like Freeze and Isida.

agreed but it is very obvious that hunter cant jump without nitro and hornet m3 can easily jump with a gun with recoil i do agree about freeze isida fire but hornet m3 with 20 - 25 micros can jump without recoil and only viking m4 can jump and i did mention that viking can be used too but it isnt used a lot any way ill update the hunter part( i do find it easy as i play a lot of monte carlos and have a lot of practice but i have updated it . ;) thanks for the help and reminder and picking up one of my mistake thanks a lot :D

your not the only one who can :P :D

But I'm one of the few that do.

At least that I know of, I'd love to see some more guides being made.

Largely due to the fact that I could never do a guide to Xp/Bp mode out of pure apathy.
