if its in open chat they will have freedom to see what your posting but in forum they can't..this means private chats will be open for them to see ..where in forum right now they can't unless asked to join

No, they won't. If a player is insulting you - block them. Also, I'm not sure if violations via PM will be ban-able via the chat violators section, but I don't think that will be the case.

This could get annoying as someone could insult you and then block you afterwards, thus preventing you from replying - "last word in".

ok what i don't understand is

 

over a year  ago ..we had private battles where players could chat and mods still can see there chats..now you want to bring it back in full chat..

when the private chat failed last time with players asking for accounts or insulting and talking about other players..

someone needs to go to Italy for stronger coffee

 

like why ??? this makes no sense when it failed before and players have not changed much they still insult players and talk behind there backs in battles..or in PRIVATE PM yes ..Private chats where no one can read what you say and you can send to friends if you wanted too..

 

why waist time working on something that failed in the past..you should work on bringing back the game how it was back in 2012-2014 that was the best years of tanki where you changed it for no GOOD reason...

So, moderators will be unable to see private conversations in chat....Ok, that means that we should expect massive violations of rules, the exchange of accounts, sexual conversations, flooding etc. Because moderators are unable to see "dirty" conversations. Also other players can not report that kind of messages.

 

I thought this might be a useful update, but I was wrong...

Ehh... thought all (if not most) mods were over 18. If you're seeing a Mod not abiding by the rules they so strongly uphold; report it to their Admins.

I thought this might be a useful update, but I was wrong...

 

If two players are OK with sending each other "dirty" messages, then they can do that as much as they want. The reason it's not allowed in public chats (and on the public forum) is because such messages can be seen by anyone including underage players and those, who get offended by that kind of language. This is why such content doesn't is being removed from public and offenders getting punished - to keep it clean and safe for others.

 

As for account exchange, the fact that players got banned for it in chat never stopped anyone. If players wanted to discuss account exchange, they can get each other's contacts and discuss in virtually any other online place like Skype of Facebook.

 

Flooding in PM is also completely fine. Just block the player if he is flooding you and you find it annoying. Same for inappropriate language and insults - you can block anyone whose messages bother you.

 

The only other problem I heard being mentioned is phishing being sent in PM. But even that's not really a problem because it's extremely ineffective. Unlike public chats where a lot of people may see phishing posts and there is a high chance that some will fall for the trap, sending phishing links in PM means that the scammer will have to send a message to each individual tanker and they may only get some results out of it after thousands of messages, which is extremely inefficient. There are similar systems in other games and it was proven over time that scammers don't use PM for phishing.

if we wanted to send messages like that it should be done off tanki and in private with each others emails or other devises ..this was a clean or so called clean site for younger players now im not sure what your game is more younger players will be leaving and wait for the emails from parents on topics like this..a player can tell you he is over 18 but really there not and this is so wrong for tanki to allow players to post in private images like this. i'm fully aware things like this go's on but still .is tanki pushing to make this game over 18 age rated system now so you can bring in the money from paying customers ..u are starting to look more and more like this..

Yes, I agree with what you said. There are various ways to violate the Rules, Skype or Facebook like you said. And it is true that some players do not care about will they be banned or not. But with these update, other players lose the ability to report a violation of the Rules and it is providing more "available space" for violators.

 

At least that new private chat messages include possibility of Add to the conversation like we have in the Forum. So that chat moderator could react. It would be good in terms of some violations which can appear in private chat messages, such as insults, phising, asking for accounts, links to explicit photographs and websites. There are many children in this game, if not the majority and ignoring all that is not quite good enough.

Just this one more option: Add to the conversation and it would be ok.

so how will this now take place when you can't deal with game violations

 

and what will become of the Forum will it now become the thing of the past ..your removing birthday celebrations by allowing PEOPLE TO PAY FOR GIFTS ..when people can just send photos threw pm now instead of paying for them..also pm will be gone now seeing players will be chatting in chat instead of pm ing.. so all these forum mods will be out of work or be switched over to chat mods?? and what about how chat mods will be seeing now there will be a over burden of mods who will be doing there jobs as well as what about Admins where will they be going

As a responsible father, the decision to allow private chat has left me with no option. I have now banned both my sons from Tanki.

 

If it stays in the game then their accounts are now prohibited to them, I have screenshot their acc so I know if they play and they know the consequences so I know they wont.

 

There is private chat in  1 V 1  with no pro pass needed. Or private battles, even from the forum.

 

There is no way I will allow my sons to be exposed to some of the stuff I have seen as a moderator, there are other games with no moderation and my sons are also banned from these.

 

What are the benefits from this. Surely we should be a responsible organisation and as adults and more so as parents protect and guide our younger and more vulnerable members.

 

It is not OK to say that porn is everywhere and swearing is a fact of life. We  should still do what we can to protect them.

 

The good thing is my boys will complain if anybody swears in real life. They are 9 and 11, they even complain if I say Sxxt, I rarely swear.

But to be harassed or bullied privately while no-one helps or is allowed to help is beyond me and I won't allow that, there is enough in real life and cyber bullying is well documented and a major concern. Most schools and colleges filter much.

 

So yes you can say I'm a fuddy duddy and I'm behind the times but my sons will learn how to swear at school with their peers not from some hide behind a computer bully, pervert or spotty faced wimp trying to act big.
