I really think BAN could have gone 325 or so, if only Rahim (did really well till then) hadn't given his wicket away.

Clinical fielding by ENG though. I think they missed Woakes.

Their logic was that since India demolished Bangladesh with pace (Banga were 20-6 or something) in a warmp-up game, they should bring Ball (pace) rather than play Rashid.

 

Didn't really work to be honest. I'm not a fan of Ball myself.

New Zealand Innings:

8:00pm: Guptill out! Caught Maxwell bowled Hazelwood, NZ 40-1 off 5.4 overs. NZ looking good but Australia also going well. Rain setting in so DL method is being considered.

8:16pm: NZ not looking good and Starc misses an easy underarm runout. Luke Ronchi gave up and Starc had an awful throw. Massive runout opportunity and Williamson+Ronchi weren't calling properly. 

8:20pm: Rain halted play. NZ 67-1.

10:00pm: Rain still going hard. They're showing replay of Bangla vs India (highlights). 

10:10pm: Rain stopped. Play will resume. Overs been reduced to 46 overs a side. One bowler can bowl 10 overs, rest must bowl 9.

10:35pm: Ronchi out. Bowled Hazelwood caught Maxwell. NZ 2/117 in 15.4 overs.

11:25pm: NZ going strong. Australia not getting anywhere, really. Drinks - NZ 176-2 28 overs, Williamson 49*(61), Taylor 32*(42).

11:53pm: Ross Taylor out. Picked out the fielder. Bowled Hastings, caught Henriques. NZ 3/217 in 33.5 overs.

12:16am: Kane Williamson hit his century. 100*(96) well batted. NZ 254/3 off 38.5 overs.

12:19am: Kane Williamson in a runout opportunity. Went to third umpire and OUT! Fantastic fielding from Henriques, then good throw from Cummins. Kane Williamson run out by Cummins 100(97). NZ  254/4 off 39.1 overs.

12:25am: Neil Broom out. Dug it out to Maxwell in the deep. Third catch for Maxwell today. NZ is 257/5 off 40.1 overs. Seems like Australia can restrict NZ with a few quick wickets from here.

12:32am: Atrocious shot from Corey Anderson. He just hit a 69m six and didn't pick the seam variation from Cummins. Corey Anderson out 8(5), NZ 267/6 in 41.5 overs.

12:36am: Jimmy Neesham out. Another atrocious shot. Skied to David Warner - easy catch. NZ crumbling now. Jimmy Neesham out 6(10), NZ 270/7 off 42.2 overs. 

12:47am: Adam Milne crushes a Josh Hazelwood bouncer right to Maxwell on the deep square leg boundary. Fourth catch for Maxwell. NZ 291/8 off 44.3 overs, Milner out 11(7).

12:49: Mitch Santer smashes another Hazelwood delivery straight to Steve Smith who took a good unsteady catch Hazelwood got his five-fer and is on a hat-trick. NZ 291/9 off 44.4 overs.

12:50am: Hazelwood takes his hat-trick ball and gets perfect shape from a cross seamer to Trent Boult. Australia looking in good position.

12:51am: Hazelwood bowls nearly the same ball again and got Trent Boult! Caught Wade (wk.). NZ 291/10 off 45 overs.  

Australian Innings:

1:30am: Rain still pouring. The longer the better (unless it never stops. The least amount of batting is the best for Australia in terms of D/L. Going to sleep soon.

Yep. Australia got lucky the first time but we were about to crush Bangladesh. Worst part is that I had Warner as my MOTM too and he was killing it.

Dude it's actually so unfair. The draw against NZ was lucky but Australia only needed 4 overs of play to win. We were destroying Bangladesh so hard that we could've lost 2 wickets and had 4 maidens but would still win by D/L. Now, we HAVE to beat in-form hosts, England. Totally unfair.
