I don't kill until gold actually starts dropping - before that and people shoot back...

Absolutely savage.

Necroposting ^ :P

If I'm near the drop zone, I'll either try for it (I usually fail) or do some target practice. The other day, I was playing Vulcan/Viking and wasn't far from the drop zone. I got 4 kills out of it.

If I'm not near the drop zone, I don't go looking for it, instead I'll change some CP points or cap a flag or two.

Purely savage. (You don't want the containers :(?)

all I do is hide somewhere and kill as much as I could.

helps a lot to rage others !

I always enjoy players using to abuse me when I kill them and take the gold box and "player someone has been banned for an hour reason:Flood" ;)

This page is for m2 noobs who dont have drugs and cry for every 1k

I am M1 noob (but I am very pro xD) and I always kill enemies during gold drop. So even I need crystals, I do not hunt golds like a noob because daily missions are a better source of crystals.

After the 10 seconds- to drop update, the almighty Magnum can destroy the entire gold mosh pit since fewer players are drugged up.

The rage that comes after it is the gold to me.

This so called unspoken rule has been around since the beginning of the game. It's a trap for the gullible that has morphed into something for the whiners to complain about. Just think about it, if this was something that was supposed to go into effect with every drop then the Dev's would have included it in the rules and , surprise, it's not there. Oh crap, another gimmick that could be added to the game if the Dev's bother to read this forum. Oh well, it might as well be added, the Dev's seem to listen to the whiners more than those who have played the game the longest anyways. So I say add 100% protections during a drop! We can't have tankers crying, can we, because they don't have the skills to grab a gold box.

Definitely a trap, kill or damage the strongest contestant, but be aware that if you shoot first someone will shoot back at you :D So be prepared for retaliation.

Our friends the Russians say "mir" = peace (don't shoot).

to hell with this stupid rule. i don't care about golds anymore, i don't bother to take it, i don't bother to get easy kills from people trying to take it, i just ignore it and focus on the purpose of the battle.

People brag about how they are "pro" gold catchers but then whine if you shoot at them,. Golly, whoiuldn't a "pro" be able to handle the additional difficulty factor of combat?  What sort of "pro" stamps his feet and pouts, "No!  Too Hard!".  :D

As a Striker user I... well just guess when the splash damage comes in most useful in DMs.

Clue: I use Double Damage

True

That is the time i exploit DD the most

Goldbox is like a mini-game within the game that same like playing, when I'm close to the Gold I don't kill others just like I don't want to be killed by others that are close, until the gold is close to the ground. If i'm far away I kill those that are going for the gold, and likewise I expect others to keep shotting if they are afar and I'm close.

Like in real life there are cheaters (hackers), those that play fair, those that don't care and only want to have fun, those that want to take advantage of situations and those with LittleIssues.

I do take a quick peek around turning my turret in case its VERY close, otherwise I use the opportunity to dash for mission goal.
