A better question: Why should that tanker give someone free 1000 crystals? I mean it's a competition, that 1000 crystals can get someone the next level of MU, which makes his/her tank more powerful compared to your tank.

Never saw golds that way... but it was pretty annoying at the time.

Well, It's kinda mixed with me. I often try to find the gold box but along the way shoot people but quickly stop. It's kinda like a warning shot

so they dont get any ideas when we do find the goldbox, if that makes sense. One time I was playing new years AS and a thunder was camped

in the castle walls and shot me! I was the only person under the gold box and it was inches away  :(

When Gold drops, I always say "no kill" in the chat. If someone shoots at me, I shoot back, but I only shoot if someone shoots me first. Although if there's a huge pile of tanks around the drop zone I can't help but shoot them with my Thunder M2.

It's a act of respect to don't shoot during a rare occasion/event so why does people are shooting ?

Because I want to get the gold box. Or I don't want to get it, just make kills.

So... an isida hornet should just try to push away that Twins Titan?   Let me know how that goes...

There shouldn't, well, actually, there isn't. I kill during goldbox battle. It's great! I once killed five people with my Smoky M1, didn't get it, but I was epically close! Another time, I caught a goldbox because I was shooting, that was just great. If you don't kill, you don't get the gold! Besides, only the very best of noobs say 'No-kill, noobs! Otherwise I'll delete your account!'' WHAT?! Just kill to kill to catch. It's really simple, you fool.

Well, that just goes against what you said first.

(Hey, nice weapon. Thunder M2)

I was using Viking and Firebird. The siren sounded and saw I was only a few feet from the drop zone. I got on the bottom of the pile and started spraying everyone with Napalm. Does that answer your question?

Yeah, one of my best moment was in Sandbox CTF, when I started to weaken other players with my Hornet-Rail, and I made a double kill right before they reached the gold. I could've watch they take it if I don't shoot as they were in a much better position. They were angry, but who wouldn't?

I can imagine the rage during the April Fools' Event every time someone dies under a gold.

Lets have a moment of silence for the battle chat.

Last year in Serpuhov one dropped in that wide flat common area in middle.

Two tanks ahead of me racing for it as it sat there.

First one about to snag and it and BAM! Rail shot killed it.

Next tank just about to get it... Blammer!  dead.

Sniper must have run out of ammo cuz my hornet closed the gap and captured it.

Yelling "No Kill" makes you a huge target. I usually like to camp out and pummel the group with my railgun or, if I'm playing my alt, use thunders splash damage to great effect.

If a gold drops in CTF or TDM I ignore it, unless I can see the drop zone and it's relatively deserted.

In DM I always pop and DD and get a couple kills by firing my freeze into the melee from outside.

But one thing I've noticed: If you wait outside the drop zone (before the gold is visible), nobody goes for you. It's like the circle at the beginning of Hunger Games. However, if you park right on the drop zone, everyone starts firing at you for some reason, even though you actually have less chance by parking under the drop zone with a light hul.

I first played since 2010 and I never saw people kill during golds, but recently it has changed and people always have a gun pointed at me firing. I do still see people who quickly just drive around me and i only shoot people who shoot me

also It makes thing a little crazier and more fun with more tanks crashing all together to catch it! (Like comon who's nor caught a gold before. also they're only 1K)
