Private Messages in Chats

nevermind it works! :) Great update by the way. Um, are mods be able to see whats going on in private chats? Because other players cant see it and get a picture to report it. Because people might say some bad stuff like getting accounts etc.

i just came from a lower rank battles and wow what a shock players at the lower ranks still have no clue on what the boxs are used for or even about how to turn turrets or flip themselfs back to normal..there should be a helpful lower rank video's for these players

This is actually a very strategic update for us Smart players as it can help us bring down phishers and those people who "give away free crystals" as we can give them a false sense of security by making them believe that they can pull off there scam very easy while actually we can lure them into a 1v1 battle make it seem like we are falling for it and then take screen shots and report them (although I understand the whole it is making it much harder for mods to do there jobs)

Obviously this update has bought happiness and partly disagreement. To me, I don't mind this update in addition to that I've seem a increase in the chat (when players talking more wildly) its just more of joy. Of course as Mr cammando said, i agree to that - it should be added to the game or a small notification like them that you get invited for battle but it's say (something like this or so: Player ... wants to talk to you) and in fact what just came into mind was when you click on your friends nickname them options pop up, maybe you have option to send invite for ''Pop into the lobby'' or something in that kind. Of course, my idea has adds and minuses. As many know (well I hope) not everything is perfect, there's all time something that you can upgrade on certain thing, otherwise we'd already have the ''perfect phone'' with best features with no better ideas to shove into it. I hope players use this feature wisely, and of course I guess in many minds ''moderators can see our messages'' will be a mystery and won't be answered since im sure its just their to keep us safe, but on other hand if you think - moderators have better things to do then stalking private messages as well as its our right to have some privacy eh? Moderators are their to protect us, not to make us feel uncomfortable, happy tanking take care guys!

Oh really? So, if you're posting a "private message" on a corporation-owned server in Russia, and it gets read by someone other than the recipient, that's a breach of privacy? What exactly are you sending them -- your name, home address, and Social Security Number?

 

Mods should be able to see PM's. I don't care if it's a "breach of privacy"; if you give everyone the ability to talk to others without being banned for wrongdoing, you're just hurting them. What about the guy who's PMing the insecure little girl saying she should kill herself? What about the guy who's being teamed up on in PM's for being gay? What about the guy who's swearing at everybody in PM's and can't get banned because mods can't see it?

 

This update is stupid, but based on Tanki's most recent actions, we should have expected no less from them.

That's why taking screen shot of the violation in private messages is ban-ble offence. If someone's disrupting your peace in pm, that's where you add a moderator into it.

you can add a mod to your pm and they can be banned i have done it many of times mainly for players asking for my accounts...

 

if you look on the left side you will see ..add player that's when you ..open another tab go to tanki forum to forum mods and copy a mods name / or go to the bottom of the opening page of the forum and copy a mods name then paste in the add player section and you can send it to a mod ..when you do that the player your speaking to will see you added a mod and they could erase the chat so just to let you know..or take a photo of it and send to a forum mod ..they will also bann the person..

This update is good. You gain attention everytime you write something in chat. But it sucks at the same time. If you look at my friend list ( over 1000 ) all I made when I met them in chat , chatting with someone else. I made them friend because they agreed on the same point of view as me. And now its not possible because no one can see anyone chatting. The update overall is not good. It should stay in the game bur the chat should be divided into 2 sections though buttons, you can use personal messenger when wish and use the public chat when wished.
