Recommended Posts

My sound hasn't worked for a while, I run tanki on a Mac.

Sound works for everything else, and my volume on tanki settings is turned up so is background noise...

Yes to all.

My mac works surprisingly good,I can have black ops on in background, tons of tabs open, garage band and btv solo and record using quick time player(uses lots processing power) and get 50-60 fps (with 1/4 graphics tho)

edit: I'm not a technology Newb, I know my stuff.

This is very odd, it could be a simple tanki bug, but I'm not sure ._,

What browser?

I know on windows you can toggle the volume of each open window. Perhaps that happened

Google Chrome

Ya, I checked that as well, I'll look into the settings a bit deeper tommorow

Same problem with Firefox and standalone, it always flickers between 2 battles I never clicked on and I can't do anything about it

To fix that, go to garage and back to battles

Do other games have sound?

HI! I present you the solution. Do note, I don't have a mac so i dont know whether this works or not but being from the official site there is about 99% chance it might work.

Here's the link if you want to read from the website directly: https://helpx.adobe.com/flash-player/kb/troubleshoot-games-video-audio-flash.html

Here's the procedure:

Solve problems with online games

Try these solutions one by one:

Clear your browser cache

Firefox

  • Choose Tools > Clear Recent History.

  • Select the time range and click Clear Now.
  • Quit and then restart Firefox.

Safari
  • Choose Safari > Empty Cache.
  • Click Empty.

  • Quit and then restart Safari.

Google Chrome
  • Choose Chrome > Clear Browsing Data.

  • Select the checkboxes as appropriate.
  • Click Clear Browsing Data.

Quit any other applications that are connected to the Internet

Give your game exclusive use of your Internet connection.

Don't use a wireless connection

Try accessing the Internet using a wired connection (such as an Ethernet cable) rather than a wireless connection.

Disable pop-up blockers

Pop-up blockers monitor JavaScript processes. Games rely on these processes to function correctly.

Get the latest browser version

If you still have problems, download and install the latest version of your browser (select the correct installer for your Mac OS version):

Search game forums or file a bug

Game forums, such as Farmville forums, often provide solutions to user problems. Search game forums for problems similar to yours. You can also file a Flash Player bug and look at bugs reported by others.

Solve video and sound (audio) problems

Try these solutions one by one:

Follow manufacturer recommendations

Follow recommendations of the computer manufacturer for sound or video problems. For example:

  • Adjust the volume on your Mac by pressing the F12 and F11 keys.
  • Adjust the volume of the video in the website that you are viewing.
  • Shut down and restart your Mac.
Verify that you have the latest version of Flash Player
  • In your browser, open the About Flash Player page.
    • If the Flash Player is installed on your computer, the About Flash Player page displays a Version Information box. The following example shows what the box looks like.

    version_info_callout.jpg
If this box appears on the About Flash Player page, it shows the Flash Player version installed on your computer.

    • If Flash Player is not installed on your computer, the About Flash Player page displays one of the boxes shown below. Download and install the latest version of Flash Player.

    Cannot%20detectFP.JPG

  • Compare the installed Flash Player version with the latest version of Flash Player for your Mac OS version.
    • If the version numbers match, you have the latest version of Flash Player. Don’t reinstall Flash Player. Continue to the next solution.
    • If the version of Flash Player on your computer is not the latest version, quit your browser.Uninstall the current version of Flash Player. Then download and install the latest version of Flash Player.

Refresh the web page

Refresh the web page by clicking the Reload the Page icon ReloadIcon.gif.

Confirm that your computer is set to allow the content to play

View the Settings Manager for Flash Player.

  • Control-click any content that is displayed in Flash Player.

  • Choose Global Settings. The Settings Manager Help page appears. The Settings Manager is embedded on the page that appears—it is NOT a screenshot. You can make the changes on the same page.

    Settings01.gif

  • Select the Global Storage Settings panel in the left column. The Global Storage Settings Panel appears.
  • In the Global Storage Settings panel, select allow third-party Flash content to store data on your computer.

    • To view or change the privacy settings for websites that you have visited, use the Website Privacy Settings panel.
    • To view, change, or delete the storage settings for websites that you have visited, use the Website Storage Settings panel.

  • In your browser, open the web page where you encountered problems with Flash Player.
  • Control-click the content and choose Settings from the context menu. The Flash Player settings pop-up box appears.

  • Click the Privacy settings menu item to display the Privacy settings panel.

  • Select Allow to let the website access your webcam and microphone.

  • Quit and then restart your browser. Try playing a video.
Free network bandwidth and check your hardware configuration

Free as much network bandwidth as possible. For example, quit applications that sometimes use a lot of bandwidth, such as instant messenger applications and sharing applications.

Also, ensure that your computer has the minimum hardware configuration recommended for an optimal playback experience. See the table of recommended hardware configurations.

Good luck! And If I'm fortunate enough. Cyu on the battlefield. :)
