This is an issue that keeps coming up, and that has been coming up forever, but I feel it's a very unjust comment. "Improving the game" is meant to do precisely that "improve the game", not an individual weapon, not an individual hull, not the chances of one specific group or category of players.

 

Yes, there have been instances where we have tweaked down specific attributes of one piece of equipment or other, and some of the people using that piece of equipment got upset, because they lost their competitive edge on their opponents. But if you think about it, nobody should have a competitive edge — everybody should have an edge and a weakness that will ultimately balance out. Otherwise, things will get very boring very quickly.

 

Granted that there are instances where certain tweaks are slightly overboard, and when that happens, it's thanks to your feedback that we manage to fix them. But I think if we're really honest with ourselves, we'll realize that those cases are the exception, not the norm.

Shaft in particular was nurtured by adding the laser.  Shaft was ineffective other than in certain types of warfare.  Sniping was its main attribute. A very few players could overcome these difficulties.  The addition of the Laser ruined this weapon beyond all imagination.  It was not enough that this turret had very long reload, that it was exceptionally vulnerable due to it narrow vision.  Not only does shaft need to acquire a target it then takes an age for the scope and gun to charge.  In the mean time it has given away its position to all a sundry, including its intended victim.  The ruining of shaft was not tweaking at all, it was not a little over the top it was far, far more than that.  Many people pay real money for something, they do not expect it that it is devalued to such an extent, in one fell swoop!

 

Within a similar time frame other weapons had improvements.  The biggest complainants about shaft were Railgun users who were mainly using Hornet or Wasp hulls.  The very nature of Shaft makes it extremely difficult to operate in open warfare, it has mainly to operate covertly, mainly camping.  It is now impossible to perform in this way properly, so those that do use heavier and heavier hulls and take an even smaller part in the running battle.  their is no stealth at all.  On the other side of the coin  Smokey which had improvements now adopts many of the hiding places of shaft and has not only usurped it role, it is still able to gallivant about the field, just as it always did.  However now we are snipped at by Smokey, Thunder and to some extent Railgun.  We have no idea where the shots come from just as was the case made against Shaft.  The difference is that all other weapons allow units freedom of open play which shaft never had.

I hardly ever use shaft now, it is now very unsatisfying to use.  It once gave a lot of pleasure because it needed a great deal of problem solving to overcome its many deficiencies.

Q1 is now officially over, so is Tanki X ever starting or are they just going to tease us for another 6 months or a year? We would really like to start playing soon.

That's because that is the invite code you need to enter tanki X.

The one you can through your email address can be used when tanki x is opened to the public

Is open testing ever starting or what? It's been over 2 months since the nickname thing and closed beta. We would like to play sometime before we end up in retirement homes. Enough with the teasing and let us play already.

Need to put your nickname on there and a email that you used to protect your account they will send the email to you and on it will have the code to get you in the the beta testing when it is opened for everyone.
