Idea: Tie breakers in battles

Recommended Posts

Most people hate to see a good battle end in a tie, some are grateful enough to even get that far; however I personally side with the first group of people. Possible solution: After the timer runs out and it still ends in a tie, 2 options will pop up that will say " Accept" or " Decline". Every player from both teams will be able to select 1 of the 2 options and the option that had the most selected will occur. If the majority of the selections were option " Decline", then the battle will officially end in a tie and both teams will receive the same amount of crystals as they normally would have in the tied battle.

If the majority was option " Accept" in CTF mode:

- Sudden death for capturing the flag ( whoever captures the flag first).

- No time limit.

- If all of the opposing team leaves the tie breaker match, the win automatically goes to the remaining team.

If the majority was option " Accept" in CP mode:

- Sudden death for capturing the control point that will be put in the center of the map ( whoever takes over the control point first wins).

- The top 1-3 players from both teams( that did not leave) will participate in the tie breaker.

- No time limit.

If the majority was option " Accept" in TDM mode:

- There will be a time limit to score as many kills as you can in 2 minutes.

- If it still ends in a tie, they can choose to do another tie breaker or not.

- If a second consecutive tie breaker occurs, the first team to score 5 kills wins.

If the majority was option " Accept" in DM mode:

- There will be a time limit to score as many kills as you can in 2 minutes.

- Unlike the other tie breaker modes, only the players that tied with someone else will participate in the tie breaker match.

- If a second consecutive tie breaker occurs, the first player to score 5 kills wins.

- If it is a 1 v 1 match and 1 player selects option "Accept" and the other player selects option " Decline" ; it will be considered a draw.

Bonus rewards for tie breaking team or player:

- 10 of each supply or 100-1000 crystals.

- Those who were part of the tie breaking team, but did not participate in the tie breaker; will receive 1/2 of the bonus reward.

                                             ~Feedback and suggestions are appreciated~

How about in team battles the two top scoring players in each team duel (for say 5 minutes) while others watch from spectator

modeish view

Good point, I just figured 2 players was not enough of a team in team battle like CTF and TDM; however it can work vice versa too.

I don't like this for one reason; I will feel ripped off if I can't get my reward after finishing a long, gruelling battle. It would be great if we get the crystals after the battle, though.

Yeah, that would be tedious; then again, not everyone can be winners can they?

- No time limit.

That's a problem. The reason there's a time limit in all normal battles is to let players choose exactly for how long they want to play. If they are on a lunch break or have to leave for work in 15 minutes, they may not be able to play for longer than 15 (or whatever) minutes. Having a tie breaker like that could force them to leave and abandon their portion of the fund.

I see nothing wrong with ties anyway. It actually feels nice to know that the game was fair and balanced.

That's why devs are planning something in which we'll be able to leave a battle without loosing our battlefund part. :)

Now THAT would be a good idea. I always wanted that. Especially with looooong XP/BP Battles.

I have thought about that- its actualy kind of bad

THe only reason why funds are so good is because people leave them, drugger lower funds, premiums help lower funds

It's not quite like that. You will be able to keep your SCORE when you leave, but if you don't enter the same battle again before the match ends, you will lose that score and the battle fund.

If they are not able to stay for a tie breaker, they could select the " Decline " option.
