Tanki X nickname reservation asks for email

When I enter my nickname on the reservation page, it says "To receive the code, you need to link an email address to your account and confirm it."

 

I already have linked my email to my account; in Tanki, under Settings, it's shown with a green check mark.

 

What am I missing?

You did not confirm your email. Check your email for any posts from Tanki Online (no-reply), check spam folder aswell. If you can not find it, delete the email address from the settings, save it, and enter it again. After confirming the email address, try reserving your nickname again :)

We have to do that to confirm it? I thought we just had to enter it into the thing in game and click save

Not that easy. It is essentially asking for a return response so it can verify the e-mail is legitimate and properly owned by you.

Yes, that is why it does not work for you :) You have to confirm your email using the link you will get, after that try to reserve your nickname again :)

Just did. I changed my email, clicked the confirmation link (the link still goes through miniclip!) and verified the change in Tanki Settings.

 

The registration page still gives the same error.
