[Issue 49] So... you think you know a lot about Tanki Online?

Welp, my first contribution to the newspaper in a couple of months involves a quiz. Hooray.

This third batch is unlike the two previous batches. There are three questions for you to answer (don't think you're getting off easily, people - there are questions inside these questions!) and the whole quiz is out of 70.

The difference here is that you do not have to get full marks in order to win a prize, meaning that time is nowhere as much of an important factor. It will only matter if two placing scores are the same - the person who achieved that score first will take the spot.

Another difference is the format of certain questions. In previous questions, you could answer any question with a single word. In this batch, doing that will cost you marks. There are a number of 2-mark, 4-mark, and even 5-6-mark questions. What does that come down to then? The quality of your answer. If you think you're being too thorough, you're probably not. Please remember to actually answer the question, though, for digressions will not be credited. However, I assume, since most of you are in education, you also how to tackle a question with more marks. Just in case though, here are some pointers:

--

2-mark questions: 2 points need to be made.

3-mark questions: 3 points need to be made.

4-mark questions: 4 points can be made, although 2 well explained points can result in the same score.

5-6-mark questions: Many different points, 2 opposing sides of an issue made clear; a single extremely well explained point can give 4 marks.

These points need to be clear though - that clarity will determine whether you receive a mark for each point made or not. I acknowledge that due to language barriers, it may take more words for people to articulate themselves properly. Therefore, every question that isn't a date question allows for a longer answer.

Questions 1 involves your typical questions. It will test your knowledge of the game. As usual, you are going to need to know your stuff. This is the bulk of the test, offering up to 31 marks.

Question 2 is purely opinion-based. There isn't a right or wrong answer. It all comes down to how well you articulate yourself. This can be used as a filler if you feel like you came up short on Question 1. However, it only offers 18 marks.

Finally, Question 3 is mostly number based. I'll let you know now: posting just a right answer will clinch you just 1 mark. Working out is required is order to gain maximum marks. This shouldn't be a problem, since you now have the space to work out these questions, and you get credited for it! However, if your working out reaches the wrong answer, you get 0. This question offers 21 marks.

31+18+21=70

You already know there's going to be that one moron that chooses to spam every question with an unintelligible answer. However, depending on the number of responses, the results of everybody that genuinely gave it a go (and that will be under my discretion) will be posted next issue, or the issue after that.

I gather that this is more of an exam than a quiz - although how you guys tackle this will be interesting. In the first batch, people generally did well. In the second batch, the same cannot be said. As I've said, 70/70 is not required, reducing pressure. However, your ability to articulate yourself is in the spotlight here; and your knowledge of the game will come into play when making your points.

63/70 = A* grade

56/70 = A grade

49/70 = B grade

42/70 = C grade

36/70 = D grade

29/70 = E grade

Lower = F grade

This varies with each real subject, here in England, and everywhere else, but this is the one we'll use, because wynaut?

I've got everything covered - do not PM me (or Skype me) anything at all. Everything you need to know is above.
