Adjust Freezing Rate to M0..M3

Problem:

The time it takes to freeze someone (freezing rate) is the same -> from M0 to M4.

Today it takes 6,6 seconds to freeze down a tank.

 

 

Proposal:

Please adapt the freeze rate for each M-level.

Maybe damage or Energy has to be traded in for that at M3/M4.

 

Details:

 

In M0

..today Freezing rate is overpowered, because the tanks turn so slow anyways.

So as soon as you aproach them with a freeze from the side, they can do nothing.

 

M1/M2

feels balanced with todays frezeing rate.

 

M3/M4

todays Freeze rate is underpowered, because the tanks and turrets spin so fast. If you aproach an M3 tank while freezing him, even Vikings can turn around and kill you.

 

 

Fire has the strong afterburn, that allowes them to hit-and-run away, to keep themselfes save.

Freeze has to stay close.. and therefor the freezing rate is too weak in M3/M4.

 

 

 

ps: This is my alt; over all I spent about 500k..800k experience points with Freeze M0 to M3+ since 2014 and it was my main turret.

M2 isn't balanced. There's no way it can match up to even Isida M2, forget Fire M2.

Freezing is too less, as compared to a few days pre-rebalance of 2015. It dies off too quickly. I suggested changing of freezing rates and de-freezing rates in this section, but it got deleted... :mellow:

^ Dude m1 freeze and m2 freeze barely make any difference in stats of damage points

That's what I'm trying to say... at least increase freezing rate and decrease de-freezing rate, so that UP modifications like M2 Freeze can at least compete with OP Firebird and what not.

One possibly is the return the old freeze mechanism (when Silence CTF was 99% Freeze/Mammoth/Inferno)

It would still be ruined, it does more damage than firebird, but the new freezing mechanism takes the skill and the originality out of the turret, its like using something which only outputs damage and nothing else

And the repair kit can remove the freezing effect, so defending with freeze in Ctf is kinda lame

The way Freeze worked that we had this time last year..

That's the Freeze that we all want and need back.

I think you mean Aug/Sept 2014.. spring 2015. Because later it was rebalanced and it froze the turret to death, while keeping the hull going.

 

 

That Freeze in End 2014 was a nice thing up to inclusively M2.. but too low in M3.

I have to admit, that the defreeze time was a little too long.

 

So based on the End 2014 rates:


Defreeze rates:

- honestly this was too long back in Sept/2014

- Todays defreeze is a little to short.. maybe add 1..2 seconds, but not more and find the sweet spot

- keep defreeze rates constant for all modifications (it's anyways a parameter of temperature and not a parameter of hulls)

Idea: negative temperature limits for Freeze - per modification

Maybe the Freeze can be better balanced, if we introduce a negative temperature limit that a Freeze can reach

freeze reduces the tanks temperature (0 = normal, -1 = negative maxima) > the turning/moving speeds of tanks do depend of the tanks temperature (the colder the slower).)

If the negative temperature would be limited - different for each modification - then we could save the M0's from feeling pin-pointed while the M3s could still be encountered.

like:

M0 = -0,6 min temp

M1 = -0,7 min temp

M2 = -0,8 min temp

M3 = -0,9 min temp

M4 = -1 min temp

 

as you can see the min. temp proposals are just given numbers.. actually they would have to be calculated by taking the follwing things into account:

- spin time of a hornet and rico to move its aim by 180 degrees (by turning hull and turret simultaniously) if freeze starts to attack

- time to kill that hornet

What, freeze m2 can compete with m3's, you just need the right hull

By dealing so less damage you have no idea when the enemy explodes, and 80% of tactical gameplay would be gone.

 

I kindly ask you to stay on topic here.

(it is hard enough to discuss turrets balance without people complaining and arguing in their own interrest (like -> "my turret _should_ be strong, all others _are_ to strong"). So please lets us not drift off.

I have the impression, that enemy freezers freeze me a little faster now.

At least the M2 freezers that I saw those days...

Other players told me, they have the same imrpession.

 

Did something change? Does anyone has informations on that?

But > it may be lag as well (they shot me longer then I saw it on my screen, so I have the impression the effect charges in faster).

I tested it on my Freeze M3.

I can not really tell if there is a small change, as I have not used the M3 freeze for ages.

But it turned out to be still not competative.. the freezing took way too long against M4 Vikings and Hornets, to work crispy.

Oh that would be great! It will give me more time for my Twins to destroy everyone once they run out of energy in their shots! It'll help me spot and close in on ranged enemies, too! My Vulcan can also eat shots all day and fire for a ridiculously long time! And oh boy! Imagine using Mammoth with Double Armor and repair kit! It'll be nigh-indestructible! Too bad it won't be balanced. :(

if used smart in noise, freeze may be realy good. i own m2 freeze and its good against generalissimos who steal my flag. When enemy has frozen, i just put 4 letters in chat "Base" and i get a help from someone who can deal him damage while im slowing him down.
