Adjust Freezing Rate to M0..M3

Recommended Posts

Freezing damage gets lower as enemy goes further from freeze's range. At it's maximum range freezing damage is very low and freezing effect is cancelled. So if you want to chase enemy tanks that can move really fast, you'll never kill them with freeze, unless you move much faster. What i want to say is that you can easily escape from freeze's range if you're moving from it.It is the only short-range turret that have this problem. Firebird and isida doesn't have this problem. Firebird can still deal strong damage no matter how far the tank is, thanks to its afterburn effect. So yes, freeze at m2 upgrade is really bad, that's why is the cheapest turret among the other m2's. I wouldn't recommend to anyone buying it as m2, you'll probably waste your crystals. I was using m1 freeze for a long time and when I finally purchased m2, I haven't noticed any difference between these two turrets. I would also like some good changes on freeze. It takes too long to freeze someone. I need to use all my power to immobilize a tank. And it lasts very short :(.

Well now after the update freeze is buffed and perfectly balanced at the higher ranks-but it is now waaaayyyyy overpowered at m0-m1 ranks.  This is why we need a difference in the strength of freezing effect for modification.

Well, I didn't know how else to call it but basically like firebird has burning time that lasts a short while after attacking and a temperature limit, so I thought why not do something similar for freeze?

So here's what I came up with: tanks that have been frozen by this turret will need to take some time to naturally thaw out the effects (without the help of a fire, isida, repair, or overheating from your own turret when using Vulcan, though of course they can still help you thaw out more quickly.) Also freeze could use a freezing temperature limit (FTL) since at M0 it is rather strong and at M3 to M4 I hear that it is a bit weak. And of course these two parameters will be upgradeable. So here's what the values of these parameters I came up with for M0, M3, and M4:

M0 - AFT (4), FTL (0.2).
M3 - AFT (16.2), FTL (0.81).
M4 - AFT (20), FTL (1).

Sorry, I don't know what the values were for m1 and m2 because this was based on looking at firebird burning time and temperature limit parameters.

Now this can be adjusted to fit the balance but it's a start.

I just think that this might make freeze a bit more interesting.

No comment? The great @Maf has no comment?

What is there to comment? It's a straightforward idea about tweaking Freeze's MUs a bit. But I appreciate the compliment  :P

I honestly thought you were going to let it sink to the bottom of the forum, never to be seen again. :P

Freeze was my first M3 after rebalance so I agree the time it takes for the freezing effect to take place should decrease depending on the level of the turret.

That's what I'm trying to say... at least increase freezing rate and decrease de-freezing rate, so that UP modifications like M2 Freeze can at least compete with OP Firebird and what not.

!!!!! So my Siberian kit plan is not good because freeze m2 is trash compared to firebird? Anyway I REALLY hope this idea is implemented so freeze m2 is actually useful/worth. Even if dps is similar to M1 if the freezing is faster that would be the ticket for me buy freeze :)
