Punishments for sabotage are divided into 2 steps:

 

1) the player is banned one day and kicked from the battle in real time from the moderator

2) Tech Support applies the punishments provided from the rules of procedure, for the first sabotage the player receives official warn, from 2 sabotage the account is blocked, the block depends on the amount of sabotage in karma and varies from 1 day to forever.

Well I've just come from another battle where one particular player continues to sabotage. I could provide the video but I'm too busy trying to win so your violator mods would most likely reject it because I didn't follow him around recording. His score was practically 0 for 10 minutes. He leaves the battle and then comes back in half way through and then laughs at the end and leaves 8 seconds before the scoreboard.

 

This player has been constantly reported and always attends battles of me and my friends with the sole intention of making us lose.

What can you do? Nothing. He gets a slap on the wrist and does it again. I'd say it's pretty pathetic. 1 person can spoil the game of another 9 although in this case he had a buddy in with him sabotaging too.

 

It's a disgrace and goes on far too much. Btw, this player was on the enemy side when I joined but he intentionally swapped to our side and I have this on video.

 

ps,

before that I noticed my friends in monte carlo and again this players name was there with 0 pts at the bottom of the score board. I posted the link in chat saying sabotage was occuring on blue but all I got was a chorus of "hhhhhhhh" from his friends looking in.

 

More, a lot more, needs to get done because I conservatively estimate about 30 - 40% of my battle suffer some kind of sabotage.

How about the fact that the mods support racism and when my friend (who is of race) tried to send in a screen, following all of the rules that you need to follow to send in a screen, of a guy saying the n word they said there was not enough evidence. I looked over the screen too he basically put Print Screen and pasted it onto Paint, didn't edit it or anything so these mods support racism? Jeez...had premium for a week too then when my friend told me about it I decided never to buy premium again...congrats mods you're the reason Tanki is losing money.

I too encounter mults in my team far too often. The biggest problem for me is that they play enough not to break the rules, but they don't play enough to contribute to winning. This also means that I can't report them (if my pc even lets me record them without making myself a mult). ANd like you already said: you can report them all you want, the harm has already been done. I lost my battle, wasted my time, effort and drugs and I'm left with a feeling of disappointment, anger and frustration. Meanwhile, the mult users get rewarded.

I know that a lot of tankers have this idea of "not fighting against their friends, not fighting vs their own clan mebmers" ...
-> but I love it :)

It makes each kill special. Simply because after each kill we can gratulate each other, blame our selfes for doing something badly wrong, learn from each other..  - and in the end laugh together and enjoy the time spent. But maybe I am just in the lucky position, to know some of the nicest and coolest tankers around.

So.. please do not prohibit this. Don't mark it as bad.

I really like the kick2 system, as it is based on the final decision of humans.. and this would be far more superiour and usefull then the friends-tagging.

 

Visual mark of battles with players from the same IP:

What would be... if we players could see this as well?
It would be usefull to select battles - together with the score board, it gives a good indication on if we should join.. or better don't.
[score per minute-spent-in-the-battle] would also be a nice indicator to judge mults.
 

 

Overall injustice regarding equipment-vs-rank:

I think, this game could use a few more ranks. Simply as a Generalissimo with 3Mio XP (lets call him G3) has much more experience, equipment, paints and upgrades then a usual G1 (with 1.4 Mio XP).
If they add a few ranks - while let the unlock of weapons as it is today - will allow it to set appart people by their power. It will help.. without harming anything.

I've just reported a player who was on blue to begin with and moaned at me and my friends for joining red calling us druggers etc. He has form for hating us. He then left blue and joined red for the next 10 minutes and scored a total 23 points (most of which came when it was safe to say we were going to lose) while all the while writing things in chat confirming his sabotage. There was another message about having no skill and 8 seconds before my side was to lose, he left the battle with a loooool.

 

 

Guess what happened.

 

Unfortunately, your proof is not sufficient to take action.

 

Well those who can navigate the forum can see who it was and those who know how to navigate youtube channels can watch the video.

 

I did all the hard work for the violator mod and no punishment for this player who wrecked the game for at least 8 honest players.

 

Total disgrace tanki. Double standards and stinking hypocrisy so don't pretend you care about justice when you clearly don't.

And another thing, you send out a very strong message that this is the way to sabotage battles and get away with it.

As I said in the first post, unless you're prepared to join the dark side in tanki, you'll never have fun or be able to compete. I'm getting more and more tempted by the day.

Another video has come up today about the same violator on youtube so if you watch it, you will see him sabotaging players that were on my side of my video.

I did not realize the magnitude of this disgusting behaviour.

 

I'm at Major level (posting from my alt) and most people are at m2 and a few m3 equipment.

 

It's disheartening to hear that nothing is being done.

 

I haven't seen much sabotage at my rank level, but it sounds like it gets worse as one ranks into the higher ranks

There was actually two players sabotaging in that video and they usually follow friends of mine in order to ruin their games for kicks. Because they do this a lot, I was able to recognise it early on in the video when I tried to give a warning. In did not deter them. I can't believe he was let off. I've sent a pm to a Game Admin the other day but it's not even read yet. No justice.

 

Even today I was playing in Noise and I had players join using m0 equipment. This is tanki culture.

You have to understand that we have to follow the rules too... we cannot ban for something that isn't proved to be against the rules of this game, nor is bannable offence. If your friend had any issue with the subject he could've complain to both my colleague Shar0n and me, we'd check the issue. Just gossiping about that, without full info on the subject doesn't help anyone. 

 

And I can assure everyone that we never stand for any kind of racism or discrimination in this game.

Well, instant help is hard to obtain. There are thousands of battles going on at the same time and we're dealing with a group of chatmods which is not much bigger than 100, putting all communities altogether. Those mods are not online at the same time nor 24/7 you know the deal. It is near to impossible to manually deal with all mults that come up. It would require an automated system. But how do you build such a system? Do you base it on how much players have earned within a certain amount of time? No, there is a good chance it will kick actual players who are not so good in the game and they deserve to play the game as well. 

 

I am not too informed about the way other games work with this, but I have played World Of Tanks as well. They don't have active moderation at all. For what I have seen they base their entire punishing violators on repressive measures. They are not pro-active at all. That means that if you have a teamkiller in a battle, you're done. There is nothing you can do, except for killing that guy and of course reporting, which is done by pressing 2 buttons. 

 

Maybe you can also compare it to real life. When you get robbed and you call the police, they are too late sometimes. 

 

To conclude, it is very hard to control a big crowd like the tanki players. A game like tanki must rely on reports as well. However, having an automated report system would not be such a bad thing in my opinion.

A meassure that would help instantly, is the kick2.0 system.

A meassure that would help aaaaalso, is a kind of a log, build into our flash tanki clients. A Tanker can choose, to log the things that happened in the battle ( = all the data he received from the server, which reflects all tank movements, shots, and so on of all tanks inside the battle, including his own, which are sent out).

Of course this would have to be an option, so players with weaker HW are not affected by the additional, local, load. as this is a local operation, it will not effect (server based) lag.

 

If a player wants to report sabotage, he pushes a buttong to "upload" his log to his account, create a forum entry describing what heppens + time indices and attach the log.

The guy who deals with the complaint, can "replay" this log in an offline viewer, where he can move around withthe camera as in spectator mode.

No more useless youtube videos.. but simply a pure replay.

 

This has just one drawback:

You (Tanki support guys) will face a lot of complaints. You need manpower to analyze them, and I guess this is a true problem.

Many players would not understand the border between sabotage and bad gameplay (which is fzzy anyways) so you can prepare yourself to deal with loads of reports.

So.. Kick2.0 rules due to handling effects:

The players in the battle do the work. They are interrested, motivated, and available.

In fact this enables you to do other work better, as you re relieved of a lot of votes, and of a lot of video analysis work.

Think about the cost savings... ;)

Then why didn't you ban the guy for being racist to my friend? He left anyway he was another premium user but after that he just left. He even contacted yele, who never got back to him after a week.

This is a fair and legit post, but I feel that one thing is missing. I'm probably reading the whole topic wrong, but I don't think it's the lack of instant help that people find frustrating. Rather, it's the lack of help after a situation.

 

Maybe you can also compare it to real life. When you get robbed and you call the police, they are too late sometimes. (hey! this is a copy and paste! wait for it)

...Then the police say that you never got robbed in the first place.

 

I think a situation like that is why players are frustrated. Of course, players could have handled said previous situations very poorly, but that was definitely a detail I felt that was missing.
