My internet speed is 50mbps. No joke. I have a greenish ping.

When I do XP battles, I charge first, but opponent damages me first. I make the shot on my screen, but with no damage. Instead I am killed. I lag in all battles.

This scenario occurs because no matter how fast your and your opponent's internet is, it will always take some time for both your actions to reach the server and from there to reach each other's computer. When you see your opponent's shot on your screen, you have to realize that it's already traveled from his/her computer to the sever and from the server to your computer, while your own shot just started traveling from your computer to the server. By the time your shooting action reaches the server, your opponent's shooting action has already reached and destroyed you, so according to the server, you never actually fired the shot. Sadly it's an inevitable annoyance until the computer technologies are so advanced that everything happens instantly.

This issue has nothing to do with the Tanki servers specifically and it's not something the TO team can fix themselves. Internet speed and quality of the connection are probably the biggest factors in this. For more info, you could check out this article.

If you're still suffering from these issues, follow the procedure below and check if there are any improvements.

  1. Uninstall the game client.
  2. Go to: %APPDATA%/../Roaming/TankiOnline
  3. Delete "Local Store" folder.
  4. Re-install the game client.

This game is so laggy... idk why tho!

Hey,

Can you please see if trying any of the below solutions works? If it does (or doesn't for that matter), please let me know.

  • Use full-screen mode. There is a built-in function in the game, which allows you to play in full-screen mode and successfully solve the issue of poor game performance. Press F11 to activate full-screen mode, and then click “Allow” at the top of the screen. Press F11 once again to exit it.

  • If you use FlashPlayer:

    Clear your cache ("

How to clear my Flash Player cache?")

  • If you use a Browser:

    Clear your cache ("How to clear your browser’s cache?");

    Try refreshing the page using F5, on your keyboard;

    Try using a different Browser.

  • Turn off all applications that use the network bandwidth.

  • Increase your FPS ("How do I raise my FPS?")

For more information on how one can reduce lags, please see this guide: "How to reduce lags?"

I've been having problems with some lag since the introduction of Juggernaut. In the past month, the lag has gotten worse and other problems have started to appear.

1...Lag has gotten a lot worse, not so much in performance like driving, but more in what I see. Players suddenly speeding across the screen like they are wearing jet packs

2...Spinning turrets. This can happen at most any time, while shooting, driving, after respawning. But I'm able to move, shoot (no damage), push other tanks.

3...Black screen. When there are spinning turrets and sometimes when everyone is darting around at breakneck speed, I get a black screen without any messages, no popups. At times, everything can be acting normal and suddenly I have a black screen.

4...After getting the black screen, I reload the tab. The loading bar is very slow, usually fully loads, but sometimes it doesn't and I have to reload again. Most times the second reload is successful, occasionally it isn't. I have tried a third reload, but that is never successful. So, if the second reload doesn't work I leave the game site and come back much later.

I play a couple other games out of Europe and I have never had any of these problems.

A player on the forums said that Tanki is designed so that it can run on a "potato" computer. Meaning it can be played on older models running older OS. Some players are still running XP. I have a gaming computer that is not a potato and has the latest version of Windows 10.

I use my computer in my business. I have to have a machine that is squeaky clean and I keep it that way. I have all the computer program updates set at a certain time. Another program designed to keep my computer uncluttered runs weekly. However, once a week I'll manually go into these programs to check on updates and run decluttering features. When I do this double check, I'll clean all the caches, including Flash. Defragmentation is one of the programs that runs automatically, but I'll run it manually anyway. I check my antivirus to see what has been captured and if anything needs attention. Anything harmful is quarantined. At least once a month, occasionally twice a month, I'll reboot my cable box. I, also, check my temp files and delete the ones no longer needed.

Two weeks ago, to make sure all this isn't caused by my computer, I called my ISP to have them check out their system. I didn't tell them that the problems I was having was with one game site. I told them that I was experiencing some lag and being booted out of what I was doing. The workman checked all the cables and connections outside of my home. He said that, at that time, the signal was slightly weak, but not enough to cause the problems I was describing. However, he put a signal booster on the line anyway.

I have a friend that is a Computer Geek and it's his business to know computers upside down, inside out and right side in. His business is the best in town and constantly has a 5 star rating. Other companies in this area can only hope to be as good as his. When he checks my computer, I'm a paying customer, not a friend. I had him check over my computer last week and he said he couldn't find anything wrong with it.

When I complain about all the problems I'm having with this game site, I'm insulted with links on how to clean caches and how to prevent lag. I am highly convinced that the problem lies with Tanki, not with my computer. The Developers can hide their head in the sand, hide under a rock or create a dreamland in their brain and pretend the problem doesn't exist. It does exist and cannot be ignored any longer. This has been going on much too long. I understand that they are working diligently on transforming the game to HTML5 and problems will come up. But at which point will they wake up and start solving these problems? When the game goes HTML5, release it to the public and THEN work on the problems that arose while doing the reprogramming? By then, the problems will be too overwhelming. Wouldn't it make more sense to solve problems as they arise?

I build very large Doll Houses as a hobby. If I make a mistake in measurements and I see that the house isn't going together properly, wouldn't it make more sense to rectify the problem right then and not after the house is built? It seems to me that you are building a house on a foundation meant for that size of house. Now, you are adding more stories to this house, making it a skyscraper, without reinforcing the foundation. Some of the major cracks are filled with cement patch (a bandaid at best) and the minor ones (or the ones you consider minor) are ignored. The minor cracks soon become major ones and, again, a bandaid is applied. You may think you have an endless supply of bandaids, but a time will come when those won't work, anymore. That's when your whole structure will come tumbling down when it's least expected. Then who are you going to blame? Our computers?

Okay, I'm taking my soapbox and going home.

EDIT: I understand that the Devs or those responsible for checking out the game, play on occasion, but amongst each other and probably on a private server. I don't know if the Russians have any problem with lag. I suggest, if you know of anyone you can trust on this side of the Atlantic and Pacific Oceans, have them play this game as any of us would, without any boosters or the like coming from you. Let them critique the game.

I forgot to mention that I have run 3 different speed checks by 3 different companies from Florida, USA to Malta and back. All agree that there is some lag and sometimes not all packets arrive.

Played 1 ASL battle in a group, now I can't play anymore. It finds a battle and says "you have been disconnected for inactivity".

I don't expect this to be fixed because this issue has been around for years now and the devs would rather focus on making the game flashy than focusing on performance issues. I could go on a rant about this but I'll stop here.

UPDATE: got an "an error has occured" while the slow loading was in progress. Reloaded the game and got put in the worst map ever, Highways.  <_<

Hello.

Try cleaning browsers cache or if you use downloadable client then clean it's cache by following steps from this article: How to clear cache of TO Client.

Make sure your internet connection is stable.

If that didn't help use Standalone Flash Player for playing the game.

The solutions found in this article might help you: How to reduce lags?

I have read that many times, some of it doesn't apply to me, so I will say I've done most of it.

But that doesn't really solve the problem, does it? I had absolutely no problems until about the time Juggernaut as implemented. I'm not saying that's the cause, this is only a time reference. During the last month, things have gotten worse, as I have listed. Please answer these questions: Why would I have no problems, then overnight, I started having lag? Why is it getting worse? I have a clean machine, so don't tell me how to reduce lag.

Here, again, it's everybody else's problem and none with the game site. When the game crashes because problems weren't addressed efficiently, then who are you going to blame? Is this how the office conversation will transpire?:

Worker #1: The game crashed! It just....crashed!!

Worker #2: Why?

Worker #1: It's because no one cleaned their caches nor did they do as they were told in "How to reduce lag."  The game is good, no problems there, so it must be because everyone's computer is messed up. That's what caused the crash.

At least that's the message that is being sent to us. It's all our fault and none of yours. This reminds me of a friend I had. No matter what she said, right or wrong, she was always right and everyone else was always wrong. Even when expert proof was sitting right in front of her, the experts were wrong and she still laid claim to being right. Tanki is the friend and everyone else is us.

After a period of inactivity at the game due to problems due to it, however, I came to know that there was no improvement. The problems I have found are: game freezes and the ping goes on red, when you reactivate if you are good you are printed against a wall or shot position so you are destroyed without knowing how it happened because sometimes it happens that you are also protected by buildings. <when it happens sometimes you can manage the wagon normally, firing and doing any movement while the others are still or spinning around, then all start like rockets when shooting. Someone will say blame connection but my connection is good and it happens not in given time slots but throughout the day .. I like others purchase crystals and then I spend real money and this state of affairs seems to me a disrespect to those with his purchases helps to keep this society alive.

also can someone look into Private messages . seems to not be working for me. I sent out a message and was to get a response from someone but there is no indication on it was sent or the person read my messages ..

now can't pick up box's in some battles . as you can see ping  and FPS is normal..
