when u level up, tanki becomes boring ... seriously, i wish if i'm still marshal or field marshal :p bcz before ranking u have a point of playing this game, now not ... ( not talking about getting all M4 and paints ... )

I'm close to ranking to Fieldmarshal, but I am in no hurry. I'd kinda like to rank before the May sale.

 

I will be throttling back my game play in July - major life change. If I haven't made Gismo by then I'm not sure when I will.

I suspect that in order to be an effective Gismo, you'll have to reach that rank with one well practiced M4 Hull and one or two well practiced M4 Turrets.

 

The key is M4. Expect that EVERY Gismo you encounter will be fighting back with M4 everything, and a stockpile of drugs. If they suspect you can counter them, they will simply switch to another M4 turret, hull, or paint, which you probably can't counter.

True story, especially at Arena, Polygon & Island CPs. It becomes a switch game. You know your team is doomed when enemy starts to change equipment quickly in battle and your team doesn't.

 

Actually that's not so bad compared to planting mults in your team.

 

Then, M4 players + Mults + Drugs = GG for them and you will be hammered easily.

 

Not to mention, they can see through your profile to know what hulls/paints/turrets you have.

I've never poked through anyone's profile while I was in battle with them. Of course right now I have only Rico and Hammer as M3s. Might add Twins to the mix, but will have to see what happens in May and June sales.

 

On a related note, I have 6 hours of Premium to use on this account. I'll use 3 tomorrow morning, and probably the other three on Saturday. In other words, I'll be a FieldMarshal by the end of this weekend.

I am Field Marshal. Ranked up this morning in about hour two of the three hour premium mission reward. With the rank up crystals, the double battle funds from premium, and the tier 4 mission chains rewards, I'm in pretty good shape for the upcoming sale.

I feel like I want to be Gismo, but at the same time, I don't, so mostly I've been going on alts, and teaching/helping lower rank players. I wish they knew how to turn their turrets, though. I don't get how they don't do that when the controls are directly displayed on the screen when they first join. But it is a nice change from my main's rank's battles.

I know, it was pretty frustrating for me for awhile when I was Field Marshall to find battles with no Gismos. It's hard to fight M4s at that point. At commander tho, it's possible since the only thing you won't have is an M3 Dictator.

Most maddening are daily missions and mission chains. I have to do at least one mission a day in order to keep up my tier 4 rewards, which are very nice. The problem is that I keep getting impossible missions. For example "Earn experience in X map" where X is an obscure map and there are no battles. When I create a battle no one joins. The other is "Earn XP in TDM mode"... Yeah... TDM is so unpopular I had the same problem - no actual battles and no one joins when I create one.

 

There just aren't enough players at my rank in this game anymore to support these obscure missions.

 

Update - Rant Mode ON

 

This is intolerable. I play between 7PM-10PM EST in the US. There are no non-Gismo battles, or if there are, there are only one or two and they are both full. Tanki defaults me to EN1, which contains no playable battles. Complete BS.

Sometimes, if worst comes to worst, I go to the Russian servers and try my luck there. I'm not as familiar with it, though and I don't understand Russian, so it's harder to communicate during battle.

By the time I am a Gismo, I will either be good enough to fight Gismos or I will quit the game in failure. Either is fine.

 

What isn't fine is two ranks prior to Gismo, there are so few players and only a handful of battles. The game is forcing me into Gismo battles before I am ready.

 

So I have little choice but to reduce play on my main and save crystals and supplies by doing the bare minimum of daily missions until sales when I can afford to M4 both my Viking and Ricochet. I really wanted to buy another M3 turret on sales, but this is just not a good idea given the brick wall I have hit at Field Marshal.

May I suggest, that you find the most full server for your rank.  Then make your own game.  Limit the numbers.  Do the tasks that are easiest or the ones that you might achieve in the first instance then you may make one change before you lose crystals.  Often if one has a difficult task if it is left to last then changed, one might be lucky with the last task being something more easily completed.

 

The time zone here can be at odds with people across the pond but their might be just enough people about for you.  The other option for you is to join the Brazilian servers and they are more likely to be playing when it is a suitable time for you.

When I first started playing Tankie Online I really never concerned myself with becoming a Generalissimo. I just played for free to kill the time. Well, I finally made Generalissimo a couple of days ago, and after all this time I never spent any real cash, and have amassed a considerable amount of crystals and an unbelievable amount of supplies. I seldom ever used supplies and just played the game for fun. I have been using M3 Wasp and Rail Gun.

 

So for those wanting to become a Generalissimo without going into debt, it is possible. Yes, it takes longer, but each level brings new challenges and more fun. The key, never give up.

I do try these things. Mostly it works. I've leaned that playing Friday night and Sunday night is not good as there are no games on any sever, EN, RU, PO, or DE.

You are correct those evenings are quiet.  I was quite surprised that this whole week end, is a Bank Holiday here has gone with very little going on.  I have hardly played at all.  Your account here will not work for Brazil unfortunately but you could just open a new one and see how it goes for you.  If you do let me know how you get on.  what ever, I do hope that things improve for you.

Thank you. I doubt I will bother with Brazil as my main is Field Marshal and my lowest alt is WO4. I'm playing for mission rewards and one alt with a week of premium. I'm mostly ignoring the May increased battle funds.

 

I also noticed that the Winter and Night battle / map themes disappear at higher ranks. Played a 'night' game on my WO4 account yesterday and was like "wow, I remember this!"

I still see quite a few night maps at XP/BP... but the tread is fading.
