Survival

 

Some dare say that being on the battlefield is terrifying, death revolving and a truly terrible nightmare, while others feel it as an intensifying, exhilarating and adrenaline pumped moment of time of their lives as they engage and intercept their enemies on the battlefield saving the innocent once more.

How would you react to be in such a scenario? What would you do? Are you prepared for this?

 

“Private! Are you ready to take on responsibility of defending your nation!?”

 

“Yes sir!”

 

“Launch”

 

“Sir, incoming missile, it is interlocked on our flight path!”

 

“Abort Abort Abort!”

 

Boom!

 

Prepare for the fight of your life…

 

Your plane was just shot down by the enemy targets, you managed to eject just before impact, but the rest of your team were tragically killed. You are suddenly trapped on the battlefield in the middle of enemy territory, with you, you have standard military equipment, a first aid kit and limited ammo. You have little backup, no assistance and no possible means of finding civilization for miles; just you and the enemy compounds straight ahead, if you do not move quickly you will die of dehydration or possibly be captured or killed by the enemy targets.

 

What would you do? (Contingency plot A)

 

1. Risk finding civilization while engaging targets

2. Attempt to find means of military compounds for assistance

3. Go it alone and try to survive while engaging enemy targets

 

Private, I have no idea of what you decided to do, but I hope you made the right choice, you will surely die if you had made a stupid decision.

Should you have picked the right choice, we will keep moving then, ensuring you make it out alive.

 

I’m walking about in plain sight, this is a dangerous situation, I could be easily apprehended or killed by enemy targets, I could easily be overwhelmed by them if I enter a zone where I risk facing intense enemy fire, there are IED’s everywhere, I need a safe place to re-cooperate before I continue my mission of survival, I know that I will have no choice but to take out several enemies before I am rescued and returned to a safe house by my military, but that could take days, I will surely die waiting.

 

To my left I see an enemy compound, I quickly surround myself by bushes to avoid being spotted by the enemy or a possible sniper, and to the right I see some mountains. If I could make it to the mountains I won’t be spotted and possibly shot at the enemy, I could rejuvenate my defences and kill several targets below, however I could come under intense enemy fire, I will surely die or be captured if I suffer a possible ambush, I have no idea if there are more enemy compounds around the mountains, it may not be worth the risk.

 

I could try and infiltrate the enemy compound; by possibly blending in, hijacking their resources, and possibly return fire while making a getaway, but lord what am I thinking? That would be close to suicide, or maybe not… I don’t know what to do, im still quite a distance away from the enemy compound, I know I won’t be spotted, yet…

 

Private! You must make a decision, staying where you are is not an option, either its death, survival or death by the hands of the enemy!

 

What would you do? (Contingency plot b.)

 

1. Head for the mountains

2. Attempt to infiltrate the enemy base

3. Retreat

 

It’s been quite a journey, having had limited training and being thrown into such a resemblance, I have a family at home waiting for me, I must not give up, I must be strong, I must fight for what life has to give me

 

I may not have had the training yet to become an experienced solider, but I still chose to fight, I am a survivor, I fight for justice, it doesn’t matter who you are or what you were told to do, had I just listened to them, limiting myself, I would have been dead, and then what? I would have nothing to offer life.

 

I was thrown into the unexpected and succeeded

 

The question is… Did you? 

 

 

 

 

Contingency plot a

 

If you choose number 1, you should count yourself unlucky, you would be dead  :P

 

If you voted number 2, seriously go kill yourself, the novel clearly said your in "Enemy territory! You won't be finding any "Military bases" near by, rather you'd just be finding the Taliban.

 

Good job if you choose number 3, you survived!

 

 

Contingency plot b

 

Number 1: Good choice, you survived, just recieving slight injury from enemy fire

 

Number 2: Your stupid, you get identified and killed  :D

 

Number 3: You step on a mine while retreating and go poof!
