Constant Lag and Connection closings becoming the norm

Recommended Posts

In the US, constant lag and connection closings are becoming an issue. Hard to bring in more players when friends constantly complain about it.

FPS is ridiculously slow nowadays.

Wouldn't complain, but this site used to have fairly lag free play other than the occasional issue and I never got booted. Now it is just normal, and disappointing.

Try opening the following the ports on your router.

5190

5222

5223

Apart from that, you should check your connection and look for some packet loss. Avoid using Internet Explorer. If you have a lot of extensions installed in Firefox, they'll eat up free memory. Switch to Chrome for games. :)

I find Chrome very glitchy (eg when my brother logs in I can't log back in immediately after on Chrome, I have to switch to failfox. So Chrome has issues. But even here in the Uk, I have noticed more lag more glitches and everything.

Chrome is good if you don't use Extensions and themes, Moreover when I checked Firefox takes more RAM as compared to Chrome when running Tanki.

So If you are the only one who uses your PC, Don't be afraid to switch to to Chrome, i'm using the beat Version right now and Its excellent for both my Computers, one being an old one (Pentium) while the being a Core 2 Duo.

Also' date=' consider using Mozilla's Prism, the stand-alone version. This is create a site-specific (Tanki, in this case) browser that runs only the necessary components for that site. http://prism.mozillalabs.com/started/[/quote']

You don't need to do that, just follow these steps. :D

Why use a browser when you can just use the Flash itself?

koolwalky, I tried that when I first joined Tanki...had way too many problems setting it up (as did others, as evidenced by many comments in that thread). Have used Prism ever since. Is there an updated way to set it up, other than what is listed at the beginning of that thread?

It's because of Flash engine and big number of players. In 2.0 this problem will be solved.

And exactly how is this going to be solved?? Tanki cannot solve the "very old glitch" of invisible tanks. It has been around since the beginning, and yet Tanki seems powerless to do anything about it. And we are supposed to believe that Tanki can solve the lag problem?

In addition, I wonder how many players are using a cheat to be invisible, but we keep calling it "the glitch" because that is what Tanki keeps saying. If players could use cheats to capture the flag, speed up, kill players...why not be invisible? After all, we will just assume that it is "the glitch."

"The Glitch" only occurs for one person, everyone else can see the invisible guy. While if it is a hack, He would be invisible to everyone. :p

I hate it when people try to use logic against my inflammatory comments. :dPdP <---- that's supposed to be my tongue flapping back and forth in a "raspberry"

In almost all matchesI played today I noticed that a lot of people get kicked out from servers just before the end of a match. Happened to me twice, it is very irritating not to get crystals you earned because server @%(#$ you over.

Kool,

I use chrome for all my gaming and my internet connection is pretty bad ass. I have always used stripped down, unadulterated browsers for my gaming.

When I first started on this site, there were some issues but not many. I have not changed anything in my configuration and at this point it has become incredibly hard to play. The whole point of having "browser-based" game play is ease of use. The more complicated it is, the less enjoyable it becomes to many.

All-in-all, it just needs to be fixed as it is very frustrating.

At the end of the day, customers just want it to work.

The increased amount of cache and cookies are slowing down your browser, If you remove them, it will feel like you are using a brand new computer to play tanki.

Still not true kool. I have both

1. Cleared my cache

2. Resized my cache

Nothing is working and it is very frustrating.

my average ping on the tanki server is 168ms even when the servers are pretty much dead @ 2100 UTC-5.
