Bahahahahahahahahaha.

You got triggered hard m8. I already know that it's fine to spell it math or maths, it's just maths is technically the original, so I like to mock people about it. xD

Well played though, you actually taught me something about count and mass nouns.

I think you'll find the term used is actually "Flood".

Flood is another way to put it.

I get triggered every time people say maths. And hey, the original isn't always best.  :P  :P

I agree with basen. I used to be a semi math professor. I'm really good at it

There are a lot of ways to prove things

You learn why and then it's so simple!

Agreed! A person can show another person a theory and it's proof with barely any words!

Calc isn't hard, I can explain derivative in 5 mins and sigma in 10

derivatives is the rate of change of a function at any particular point right I'm pretty sure

and then it's like (f(x+dx) - f(x))/dx when dx approaches 0? that's basically all I know but isn't there a bunch of rules and stuff and then it gets complicated and everything

sigma (summations right?) is taught in algebra 2 it's just an easier way to write stuff

 I'm a noob k

Pffft "maths was original". Next joke.

Considering the idea of math/maths was thought up a looooong time before English even existed, neither term is "original". So pls, both are just as legitimate.

OMG a new turret, lol like this if you don't know yet !!!!! im so happy    :D :D :P :P :P :D

Lol wait, did you not know? Cuz they've talked about it in the V-LOGs 3 times I think..

Math is pure logic, even the dumbest of kid can do it without learning anything. The only subject which does not require anything to learn. What is there not to like?

my favorite part of math is taking the really expensive calculators and drawing blinking Illuminati triangles on them.

I'm not too good at math, taking a class a year ahead. Only an 89 :*((

notice the looks of it. Same skin as on Vulcan and Hammer in garages of developers before the release. Also, the vid of it looks cool-it's on StreamTO and MarTin. Notice how he can move during scope mode. Also, the projectiles are tiny, hope they improve that...also, what name should it have? "Rocket Launcher" sounds too weak, too stupid. It should be something cool, like Tornado. A real-life Russian missile system translates to Tornado.

dude, im an 8th grader now, but at 6th and 7th grade, i would not pay attention in class and still get max scores XD, but now, ugggg, im taking geometery, 2 years ahead, i used to be 1 year ahead from 6th-7th, now, even if i pay attention, i still have to retake my tests, let me ttell u how hard it is, i took 4 tests so far, and 4/5 i needed to retake XD im failing this class, im wonder what algebra 2 honors next year would be like : (

I think it's just going to be called "Rocket".

Painful if you have a meh teacher, average if you have a good one. I'm taking it as a highschool sophomore right now.

i have a teacher that is ok but not the best, lol i so want my jump class teacher to be my math teacher,,, he's so chill, in my jump start class, i kept on throwing fidgets on the ceiling and he ignores it, but once i went too far, and he asked me if im testing his patience XD lol. Lol, he's just awesome

idk why everyone from pakistan and india loves math... But im not from there, and Im hater B)

You know, I feel happy I like maths. You just can't see it with the eyes we have, snd that's also why I wnat the ability to be able to look from someone's eyes or perspective, and feel what they do, without being able to intrude on personal info.

But enuff. You need to look at it like something really fun, rather than an utter bore and torture. That's what I do, I find it very fun, particularly Algebra.

*facepalm* I am from Bangladesh. Math may not be fun for everyone, but once they fully understand the components of it and are able to apply it in real life, they are capable of "ENJOYING" math.

Understand it, and apply it real life, then you may be able to understand.

Ahem... even the slightest logic has to be learned. A dumb kid won't even be able to find the hypotenuse of a right angled triangle without a ruler.

I agree. Have nothing to say to this, everybody said it.

Math gets used only in 'Math Teacher's' Profesion .-.

I disagree. Maths is used everywhere, practically everywhere in the universe!

From the house you live in and the simple stuff you use (not electronics, household stuff), to the most complex of stuff, you have maths, some branch of it. Household stuff? Measurements and geometry. Everyday stuff like counting, calculating simple stuff? Arithmetic. Music? Trigonometry to your rescue (which I h8). How? Trigonometry allows for some laws or stuff which is essential for music.

These luxuries like computers, phones, TVs, internet, things you just can't imagine life without? Logarithms, algebra, plus physics stuff regarding electric currents etc, which all boil down to maths. Calculus is also used for a lot of stuff, I dunno. Algebra? Finding unknown quantities using maths, etc, which amount to a lot, lot, lot of places.

And don't forget, all the sciences boil down to maths, and the sciences are also used everywhere, so much that your playful, work-hating, play-only mind will spontaneously explode.

That is literally only true at the most elementary levels of math pls

the point of math is not to find the "correct answer" it's to find the reasoning behind it, to find the millions of different ways to prove something, to see the beautiful connections in the most obscure of places, to find the "why" of it all, to experience the "aha" moment when you gain a valuable insight into a problem, to understand how everything fits together so perfectly, and to trudge through the complicated muddy mathematics only to emerge with valuable insight and knowledge

A classic example is e^(i*pi) + 1 = 0. It seems simple enough, tying together e, i, pi, 1, and 0 - five of the most important concepts in mathematics. But when you look again you realize that that really isn't very instinctual. Why should this be? What does it even mean to raise a number to an imaginary power? And then of course you go google it and you realize you have to go deeper into some calc stuff which of course I don't know and you learn math more so you can actually understand it but I mean you don't yet but you want to because omg it's so simple but honestly a lot more complicated than it really should be but ugh it's great isn't it?

and of course I don't actually know anything but by some flaw of logic the universe has allowed me a glimpse into this beautiful and mysterious world and please don't trash talk math it highly irritates me maybe this is the flaw of attending public school idk

Sorry, rant over not really but I'll stop k

I wholeheartedly agree. Also, I could teach you very basic calculus, i also have to learn :P I've only heard Euler's identity etc, seems fun, will see sometime.

Calculus ain't that hard, try to understand it

As for euler's identity(that's what it called) there must be a derivation for it. No one gives theorems out of the blue

Ooh, calc isn't hard? Pls teach me den.

What maths are you guys talking about? euler's identity? I haven't even learn that!

That is advanced level, calulus m8, you may not have done much calc if any.

Euler's identity comes from Euler's formula (e^ix = cos x + i sin x and when x = pi, cos pi + i sin pi = -1) which was proven using the Taylor series' for e^ix, cos x and sin x which is found using calculus

it's very cool

Yeah a lot of people say calc isn't that hard, idk though looks intimidating

 Oooh, looks fun.

Lol nah I'm homeschooled

I assumed you guys were in public school (most people are) and that that was partly why you don't find math interesting (I've heard math is taught in a perhaps less optimal manner?)

The thing is math shouldn't be about sitting around memorizing rules - it's being able to find out why the rules work and applying it to different things. Very rarely should you have to blindly memorize things.

And of course writing and philosophy are important and very necessary (did you know that many of the earliest mathematicians were also philosophers? :P)

  i knew ok

Also, yea, I do see homeschooled people typically like maths more than public schoolers. Yea, maths is taught terribly there, no one would like that. To really like it, you would want extra lessons on higher level stuff maybe, try out a few websites for maths guys. I know one and it's amazing, practically every subject there :d

I got a B- in Maths (Year 9), but I couldn't even solve : x^2 - 12x +36 = 0

I tried to factorise... but I can't find 2 multiples of 36 which add to -12 lol :P :P :P :P

 Try the quadratic formula nug... using that, we have a = 1, b = -12, c = 36.

The quadratic formula is x = (-b +/- sqrt( b^2 - 4ac)) ÷ 2a. Had to use that form due to primitive tools here, but the real formula's division is in fractional form and sqrt'd mean square root. Solve that yourself xD Harder problems need the formula, rooting, factorising or maybe even completing the square won't work

I agree with basen. I used to be a semi math professor. I'm really good at it

All of you are wrong. This is the correct way to spell the word that you guys call "math".

I wish I could insult you a billion times... -_-

Flood is another way to put it.
