Make it your main account, I faced the same dilemma with @ultryX (the account I started playing tanki with), so I decided to put some money and effort into a smurf account, and out popped @allseeingeye_tanki.

Advice I would give you: Until you are already high rank (Major or above), don't use turrets you don't excel at, even if you favor them personally. I see that you use railgun and hammer a lot. I would advise you to stop using Railgun, so that you can earn more crystals.

In the low/middle ranks this thing is really important: Crystals/XP ratio.

 

Basically, you need to earn as much crystals as possible for the same amount of XP in order to excel at your rank. To get a high ratio, play with a turret you really excel at (even though you may not like it as much) and get a high ranking on the leaderboard. First place gets a higher ratio of crystals than last place, so make sure you are trying your best and using your best combo.

 

Also, make sure you are on the winning team during battles so you can get the most amount of crystals possible. This means that you have to monitor each team and look at the stats before you join either side. Choose which side you think is going to win; this is going to give you more crystals.

 

This also means that if you join a battle but you feel like you are going to lose, you should drop out unless you have over 100 score in the game. This way, you won't be wasting your time to earn just a little bit of crystals.

 

That is basically what I did, and now I have an M2 combo at Warrant Officer 5!

 

Another tip: after you get to Warrant Officer 4 or so, do not continue to buy M1s. You need M2s so that you can compete with the higher ranks.
