Dragons, I've got an announcement to make.

 

 

I'm beginning a search for a replacement - an heir to the throne, if you will. I can no longer keep up with running a clan and all of my schoolwork, hobbies, chores, etc. I'm starting to get stressed out. I'm not as active as I have been in months prior (with the exception of the hectic Domination Series), and that's not fair to you or the recent applicants to the clan. I don't play Tanki frequently, and when I do I often suffer from terrible fps.

 

I want to make two things clear: First, this is not the fault of any of you, and this is not because of Sunday's... debacle. Second, I am not leaving Tanki, or the clan. When I find a replacement, I will be taking the position of Crested Dragon. This will not be a ruling from behind the throne deal either. The new leader will have all of the same powers that I will have had, which will include promoting/demoting me, as I will not be the leader.

 

I want to thank you all for making my time as leader here enjoyable. Here in this clan are Muslims, Christians, and Atheists; Democrats and Republicans (and other parties too!); and many other groups, nationalities, and religions. (I apologize to the ones I missed!) Yet despite these huge differences, we coexist peacefully and work together. I'm proud of that more than anything. If only the world was the same.

Yes, real life is going to take priority over an online game, but I'm glad you're staying as a Crested  :D There are lots of great members in this clan, and I'm sure whoever takes over as leader will continue with everything you've done here.  :P  ;)

DoS, the people (myself included) all love you. I understand real life takes precedence over our clan in every circumstance, but nobody will be just like you, and that's worrying. It's all a game of popularity and who can manage leadership most effectively. Hopefully, the second option will be followed.

Leadership.  It's a tough thing - having to be firm, yet fair.  Positive, yet realistic.  Helpful, yet using your time effectively and efficiently.  Pushing a group of people to new things, yet staying grounded also.  You have proved to have a wonderful moral compass, with a vision that brings a variety of people from around the globe to celebrate their differences [in spamming techniques], and having lots of fun along the way...  I think we have all been blessed with new friends, because of you.

 

Keep it up, you'll do better than Trump in the future!!

RE Dual - I was actually suggesting that Each Talon would have a Full Control Situation, like DoS has now.  They wouldn't necessarily need each other to make a decision.  However, with that said, needs to be FANTASTIC communication and general rules agreement between them.   More like a 'notification' idea.  Then we have 2 folks that can make final calls on everything...  Might actually speed up some things?

 

I'd imagine a voting idea generically OK (subject to DoS requests), but then he also needs to apply what he knows about people and their personalities, online access, goals, etc.  Part of being a Supreme Draconic Leader is imposing Final Decisions.  Yes, the people count, but too many cooks in the kitchen don't necessarily finish a meal - especially one that EVERYONE will eat.

 

Personally, I love watching US Presidential Elections.  If you can have 51% of the people want you to be the BoSS, then you can run the most powerful economic and influential and military country in the world.  At the same time, the other half of your people want you fired, or arrested, or even killed.  Then ditto for the other 20X the world population.

Moral of the story - you can't please everyone.  A leader must make a decision that they believe is best for "the people", and stick with it.  Sure you can grow and learn and realize that some decisions weren't the best.  But then you step up and make the change and inform people of what happened and why.  Again, not everyone will agree.  But hopefully they respect...

It seems to me that you are going to give away your leadership, but how about stay as a leader but appoint another person along with you? Basically dual leadership. Here is an example (click the link): 

EXAMPLE

I suggest that you make dual leadership from the same account just like me and gab (let's not forget ommy). All that you have to do is just give the password to your account to someone who you think is fit to be a leader. Then both you, and the person, will stay as a leader, just that another person will give the calls in your name.

Or... You could make a new account, (I suggest the Name HD_Fighters), and then share the password of the account with someone else. Then play in that account until it reaches the rank Sergeant Major, and then give leadership to do that account. In this way, you can give someone the password and he/she can rule too. Simple eh? 

And btw, there is no problem at Duel leadership. It is not slow -.-
