Game Violation section should have reasons why video was insufficent evidence to ban.

Recommended Posts

Multing was terrible enough and I sent in a video. But guess what, it was 'insufficent evidence' and I have no idea why it was that way. I press tab and all, and it still wasn't enough.

I think it's better that the moderator give us a reason why it was insufficent, maybe due to video length or something like that. With reasons I could better improve my video record.

Thanks for reading. :)

Taken from Violators Section Rules:

  • The video’s length should be no less than 3 minutes and no more than 20.
  • During the video, press TAB at least once to show the scoreboard of the battle. (<- I know you did this)
  • We only accept videos made in battles as evidence because videos made "outside", i.e. in the server chat, do not provide enough information on what the player was doing in the battle. (<- I know you probably did this as well)
  • Series of screenshots from the battle may also serve as evidence.

Not saying you didn't follow the rules, but these can help as guidelines for when you make your video. Also, you might want to clearly show the player multing (not shooting, following players around doing nothing, repeatedly self-destructing for no reason, etc.) without trying to make yourself look like a mult (which is hard and is one of the complaints players have had).

Let me explain that complaint in some more detail. Players have had issues reporting mults/saboteurs because it's hard to prove the player(s) they're reporting is multing/sabotaging without doing it themselves. So once they report, it either ends with "insufficient evidence," or accidentally getting themselves banned, or even both.

So yes, if the game violation administrators (Ylenia) could provide reasons as to why the proof is insufficient (maybe provide tips), it would greatly help players improve the recordings and improve game violation reporting overall.

And that's precisely why we should get the kick2 system. Reporting a mult is a total pain. Either they should get more mods and get /vote to work or give out six month bans to both the mult and the multer who injected the mult by tracking their IP address, that is if convicted.

And how do they ban the multer who injected the mult? Check the IP address of the convicted mult and which other players' IP address matches with it from the players present in the Tab screenshots.
