guys remember tanki is a game company ..

if you go to any company with games most or all have started to go this way ..this is the way of the future ..to pay for games its no different if you went to a store and bought a game.. its the same, almost the only thing is that in the computer world you don't fully own it ...like if it was from the store.

.if you go to steam ..you will see how they sell games for you to buy and use freely but you never own the game ..

i hope you understand what iam trying to say..

Exactly!  :)

I have discussed the morality of the situation concerning nicknames earlier.  We have passed that.  Here, I am offering suggestions to people, that are concerned about their particular situation because I like to help people.  Tanki are very unlikely to rescind this nickname plan of theirs because they have shown no evidence of ever rescinding any changes that they have made, no matter what the morality or number of protests. If someone can take a legal view and put it into action, then that might be different.  That is unlikely to happen but not impossible.  My view is that one has to make the best of things or be for ever moaning and gowning about things that we can not change. That is not helpful or healthy.   I have a pragmatic view on this.

Well, I wasn't talking about the "morality of the situation concerning nicknames", i was about your other "pay" idea.

Should we agree with them all the time, just because they hadn't revoke any of their former controversial upgrades? In my mind the answer is no! When we get something we don't like, we let them know, and as a matter of fact i know they take feedback very seriously.

In this upgrade, paying players have received an advantage, by stating this, tanki at least letting players know that paying customers of tanki get privileges other than what they paid for.

And you with your fault ideology "i want to help others", involuntarily promoting something tanki wants.

Lizzy, no one here needs your reminder of "if you pay, then Tanki won't retire your screen name for 3 more years"! It is already in the first post of this upgrade thread. Your idea is not wise and it is kind of Toxic.

Even that saying "the road to hell is paved with good intentions" is inapplicable here.

If you do not want to pay that is entirely up to you.  If others do wish to pay that is up to them.  I am neither encouraging nor discouraging just pointing out the options.  Do you want to censor that information, to deny people the freedom to make their own decisions based on the facts and options available to them.  I have said on a previous post that I do not agree with them.  I am unafraid of contradicting anyone including the AUTHORITY.  I am well aware that Tanki want our money, that should be of no surprise they are a commercial company.

If players want to safeguard their nickname for 3 years regardless if the play or not then buy crystal with real money via credit card or similar

"NOTE: For accounts that have been used to purchase crystals, the minimum period of inactivity is extended to 3 years from the date of the last purchase, regardless of the account’s rank."

* Obvious

* Obvious

* Following statements made by you ...

The saving grace for any purchaser is the 3 year safety net.  Anyone with planned long term absence would be best advised to make at leaste one purchase before going on a Long Trip, University or Military Service.

....

...

The other thing to have a think about, is the nick name that important to you?  Would having and r prefix attached to your nickname be that bad?  If Tanki is for you, why not sign up and purchase something useful because that would give you 3 years grace.  Any way good luck with your endevers.

;)

* I think you missed a question mark there, the answer is "NO"

* :).

* Tanki doesn't want our money just like that, they are offering an attractive product(s), which we can buy. I knew that Tanki is a commercial organization even before you made your first post here.

About your "purchase something", i hope you were talking about crystals, because tanki is yet to state anything about Premium Account purchases.

Already close to month since I can't register name. It's recruit rank and every day trying to get it, but shows it's taken and doesn't let me to register it. I'm sure it's not linked to e-mail. Am I doing it wrong or just unlucky?

What if a person is not active for 6-7 months?

6-7 months would mean ~180-210 days.

In that case, nicknames of accounts with rank Second Lieutenant and below will be available...

Detailed info in Cedric's post:

If the inactive account isn’t linked to a valid email address, the new user will be able to register the nickname.

If the inactive account is linked to a valid email address, the original owner will receive an email notification informing him/her that someone wants to claim the nickname. From that moment, the original owner of the account will have one week to reactivate his/her account by using it to enter the game. If he/she fails to do so within that timeframe, the new user will be able to register the nickname.

The respective time limits according to ranks are as follows:

Upon crossing the limit, nicknames of accounts will be available to be taken..;)

friends but i have a doubt then the owner of the inactive nickname can play that account

Please read the opening post of this topic, our CM has already answered the question there...

However, I'll still quote it for you:

Important information for those who are worried about losing their tank!

First of all, don’t worry! Even if you lose your nickname, you will NOT lose your account. In fact, inactive accounts will simply be renamed to free up the nickname, and you will still be able to access your account, even if it has lost its nickname.

To lose your nickname, all of the following events need to have happened:

you did not enter the game for a very long time;

someone tried to register your nickname;

you didn’t notice a letter telling you that someone else has tried to register your nickname;

someone tried to register your nickname a second time;

After all of the above has happened, your inactive account will be given a new nickname.

If after losing your nickname and being given a new one, you decide to return to the game, you’ll be able to continue playing with this new nickname (keeping all of the achievements, garage items, and crystals that you had), or you can choose a different name by using the email linked to your account, or by contacting Tanki Online technical support service.

Make sure you read the main post next time..;)
