Normally as you would when you create an account. In 10 days, all the inactive recruit names will be available to take ;)

A bit off topic, but how come I don't get a notification anymore when a new topic is posted here? :( I used to get it when someone used to post, but now nothing... Is it cos the topic stays hidden for a while...? Any ideas?

This is really a cool update to get back all inactive cool usernames but it will be fantastic if you can give the existing active tankers one chance to change their username to get any one of the cool inactive account nicknames if they wish to. This way tankionline can please the existing active users for rewarding them a chance to get a cool nick name which is already taken n inactive.

You can. By writing an email to the help desk and having 100 000 crystals deducted from your account :)

Bad update, I can't see what affect this will have for the vast majority of tankers. It would be MUCH better the way it was.

Well, the problem is some players took best nicknames, and they are really low rank for over years, not using the accounts at all, completely inactive, it just pointless letting inactive players have the good nicknames. However, there is nothing to worry, as said in the main post of this topic plus in the v-log, "your account will never get deleted", once the users nickname has been take, he/she will be still be able to log in using their email address, and they can also contact help desk help@tankionline.com to have a new nickname. :)

Hmm, I wonder whats the time period for small ranks, they are usually very inactive, so they will lose their accounts - panic- and probably leave the game, my idea is to implement a special notification message into the game, so when the inactive user returns he is notified that he has lost his nickname due to inactivity, and he can immediately choose a new nickname and play the game straight away!

That means they are linked to an Email address, so a message has been sent to them, if they don't confirm that email in time then next time you try to register with their nickname it will work  ;)

Well we've yet to wait confirmation but as far as I know I don't think anyone who hasn't logged on for a while can just get his account taken without him realizing this.. Because As far as he's concerned , if he doesn't log in no one can take his nickname anyway ;) So it wouldn't make sense to do that... Basically everyone should get notified imo.

Good update, i've always felt bad for all the oufa19208342 nicknames who can't figure any better name.
