This idea has been in my mind for a while now; the option to use your game controller to play tanki online. I have a DS4 (controller for ps4), so I tried to setup something on my own, using DS4Windows. It works pretty well, but it's a nightmare to drive backwards; it just doesn't work correctly. Perhaps the devs can build something in to the game, so everything works properly? If that would happen, please make the camera move around the tank freely, not like normally, with the turret(so like holding the right mouse button in mouse controls).

I'm pretty bad at English, especially grammar, so please don't be mad at me for that :3

i once was playing tanki using the mouse controls and how clever this feature is. then it hit me like a ricochete projectile. why not have tanki online playable with analog controllers?! (PS2-3 controllers) i mean it would be awesome to play with them wouldn't it? you get better control on your tank. you don't get the 'space+left arrow' jam that i'm sure it annoys some of you guys. so why not have analog controls?! hopefully you guys would like to have this feature in the game. because i sure will since i enjoy playing on my PS3 as much as i enjoy playing tanki. well that's pretty much it. tell me what you guys think about this idea in the comments below. and goodluck playing tanki :)

It wpuld also be nice to be able to play Tanki online on a mobile. It could be done, with controls similar to Warship Battle. Like, arrow buttons on the screen, swipe to rotate the turret, a fire button in the corner and a supplies block up the top. Done and dusted. Same with tablet.

Tanki has been releasing a bunch of updates recently. This is something minor and not really important.

I don't like this idea, because using a controller could become either better or worse than keyboard, and the problem is that it will create an imbalance.

 

Unless they separate controller users, just like they should separate mobile users.

You can already connect almost any controllers to PC. Including the Nintendo switch joy-cons.

They just don't seem to work in a lot of things very well though. Mind you I've only had limited use since the boys decided to try the ps4 controllers on the pc for all sorts of weird things.

With the addition of being able to change controls a while back i believe that tanki should be able to be played using a wireless bluetooth game controller like the one shown below and if you simply don't have a game controller that can pair with your computer u can still play tanki online with keyboard/mouse controls.

This feature is already available tho not officially. You can do this using softwares like Xpadder (not sponsored) Connect you controller and assign the buttons of the keyboard on the buttons of your controller very easily. I've tried it myself trust me it was very difficult to do so. There are many video tutorials on youtube to do this as well.
