Driving like a pro - driver license certificate

Driving your tank isnt about using the keys efficiently, its about using the keys efficiently ........ .... and manipulating the tank based on real time actions.

 

The easiest thing to do to become a driving pro is to learn to use the keys.

dont say.... yada yada-- top arrow is forwards, bottom arrow is backwards, left arrow is left and right arrow is the correct one. That is just not true.

the first concept you need to delete and replace is: there is a set front and a set back. Replace it with the concept that: the direction of the turret is the front.

Once you truly realize this you will drive like a pro.

[^] is for driving forwards/backwards

[<] is for rotating hull left

[>] is for rotating hull right

[V] is for driving forwards/backwards

 

Hornet and hunter have a special abillity to do turn the hull 180 degrees while moving in the same direction. To do this is to press [>] or [<] (depending on your preference) while still going forwards and then [v] or [^] (depending which one you were using before. If you were using [^] then use [v]) and simultaneously press [<] or [>] (depending on what you used before. If you used [<] then use [>])

manipulating the tank in corespondence to real time action:.

escaping enemies, swerving from shots. Running into heavily armed enemy base flag pole swarmed with all sorts of tanks and escaping while swerving enemies, balancing impact force, and destroying defence forces. Imagine noise CTF. You take red flag and have 10 enemy tanks trying to kill you and physically block you.

how do you do this?

Turn your fingers into high coiled springs as you will hardly be pressing one key for long. It will be a very high paced juggle between up down left and right.

Main Problem faced by many is Keyboard 'Ghosting'. Find a fix to that, and you can drive like a pro with enough experience. Take wasp on double speed and drive around Lost temple/Rio/Skyscrapers.

keyboard ghosting means you cant press both same time?

Mine is great too.

The only problem is i cant a activate double power when im firing vulcan. I can activate when using twins and i can activate all other things....

Ghosting can b really be a problen sometimes...

For example,i cant shoot on the go effectively,because the spacebar ghosts when i press the front arrow and either of the left/right arrows.Its a pain sometimes

 

One  thing i wonder about is why almost 1/3rd of tankers dont turn their turrets :huh:

Turning ur turret is one of the basic steps to driving mastery....

Is this threads to be a tutorial for aspiring turret twiddlers? Are we going to have video tutoring for nifty finger work? How is possible to do all these things simultaneously, drive and steer the tank, turn and fire the turret, adjust the camera height?   What keys aught to be pressed with what hand to operate what?  Does it help if one has the keyboard skills of a piano virtuoso?  :)  How not to be a noob.  Learn turret skills here in easy lessons.  How to drive backwards and parallel park! How to drive and not look where you are going!

ive heard TG say you dont turn turret. And your happy... therefor you dont drive like a pro as you dont function the most out of the four sides of the tank..... you use 1/4 of the driving abbility

I do not turn my turret.  It would be handy.  Old dogs new tricks springs to mind. I was looking froward to your tutorials so that I could be like you!   :D

I would fancy a indepth guide with pictures.

Handling ramp cituations, using the walls, jumping manouvers, the leaning methods for optiam shots, knowing the best offensive paths for your hull, and the best defensive spots, knowing how you can support defenders, offenders, or yourself with your hull and the hulls of others.

There are a countless amount of all kinds of manouvers with different guns, expesially the ones that can affect the enemies driving, like freeze, hammer or rail. And there are even more manouvers for avoiding damage with all sorts of combos.

But i do give you props for making this topic, as brief as it is.

 

I thought i'd make this topic, but you got first... maybe i'll make a topic specialising on some hull or something :unsure:
