Sorry, I still don't like the idea. I'd rather focus on the good our moderators are doing. Besides, allegations of wrongdoing by our moderators are very rarely found valid. There are quite a few players who are on a personal quest to discredit some moderator or other for having (justly) banned them, so they make up all sorts of "evidence" to bring that mod down. In the end, when we investigate, we find out there was no sort of abuse.

 

Additionally, when a mod is unfit for the position, they rarely make it past candidate stage. And for chat mod position especially, they need to have impeccable karma. So, as you can see, we do take a lot of precautions when hiring someone. The odd bad apple MIGHT slip through sometimes, but it's so rare, I'd rather not make an issue out of it, since the aforementioned group players will use it as an opportunity to generalize that the whole mod team is corrupt, rather than just the one who managed to slip through our precautionary measures.

It's ok if you don't like it.

 

The idea was simply born from the impression, that I read from time to time lines in the chat that "someone was unbanned / because he's a friend of moderator" - and of course noone asks for proove. Players just believe the "mod's friend" story, and you can for sure imagine how this harms the impression the players have from this game.

Noone's around there that defends the mods in the way you write here (selection proces, we do a lot, only rare cases, most issues are made up..). No figures can be held high, pointing out that "prooven cases of moderators power abuse in December: 0", whlie it "was 1" in November before.

 

The reason why nations need to make things more transparent, is because they lost credibility in the first place.

If you work on credibility with a little transparency in the first place, only few will doubt and you have less issues afterwards :p

 

Please do not get me wrong: It does not affect me as a player, nor the gameplay for me, so, actually I do not need to care :p. I just shared the idea (and clarified the misunderstandings afterwards) as I thought it might be usefull.

Do you think developers will ever do something about supplies? Right now I don't think supplies are fair. Its mainly buyers that can get their hands on large amounts of supplies, and they get an advantage over playing against non-buyers because of supplies.

There is always going to be gossip like that, just like in real life - you always hear that someone is accused of being teacher's favourite or that someone got a job because they are a relative of the boss. Tabloids made millions of dollars/pounds on account of gossiping and slandering people, without ever checking the facts.

 

We are as transparent as we can (considering that a lot of info we deal with is in fact confidential, mostly in order to protect both players and moderators) but however much we decide to be transparent, I believe that gossip is something we would never be able to squelch.

The supplies argument is a complicated one and has already been discussed extensively in other threads, so I won't get into that here. All I can say is that finding a solution isn't easy.

Why the Christmas decorations and ASL mode button aren't removed yet?

It's because the company in charge of placing and removing the Xmas decorations went bankrupt last week and TO employees, for obvious safety reason and also short staffed, cannot do it. Sorry for any inconvenience it may have caused.

Rest assured that this is not a common occurrence, and TO is taking the necessary steps in remedying this issue.

It is extremely easy.

Nerf DD and DA by 50%

But keep them as now they are if taken from pickups.

What the hell are u talking about? In 7 years drugs have always been like this. Okay durations has been added or some other stuff changed but DA and DD always has been +100% damage

pickups used to last only like, 50% of the normal time, so you're basically doing the same thing

I think the suggested tweak is for power, not duration.

well still, 50% of time means you only get 50% of the damage you're gonna deal with 100% normal

In a way yes.  But... for weapons that do a  lot of damage in one shot like rail / shaft  having increased power = more one-shot-kills.

 

If you are hit by a regular strength Rail you may survive and find cover.  Hit by Rail with current DD this is less likely.

Not rly.. if you have 1% health and you shoot me first you'll be dealin a lo the more damage till I kill you for example. Many other examples come to mind, it's quite different :p

Take supplies out of all non-Pro battles (battles created using the ''battle ''button'') As for Pro battles keep them the same. Allow the option to have supplies and have the option to disable them.

That's my solution. Its as simple as that :)

Can you give us any update on what tanki is doing about cheaters and the clan system?

 

Also I have said most repeatedly that the kill counter does no work properly at times. DM this morning I shot and killed at least 2 with no other tanks around and got neither kill. That happens frequently - TOO frequently.

 

Also could you PLEASE get whoever enters the non-pro battles to give us a break? Put in some RIO CTF, NOISE CTF, SILENCE CTF and get off the Osa and Skylark?????????????

Well, why the hell don't you just buy a danged pro pass already?? It's 5k, barely a DENT in your wallet! If I can pay 2.5k at WO5, you can pay 5k at Legend, where you get around 5 times the battle fund as me...

Ooohhh waw. What an argument. I'm a noob? I wasn't aware of that... and did I mention that I lost to a gizmo with M4s (thunder, rail, smoky) BY ONE SINGLE KILL?? 49-48. i was an m2 rail+m1.5 wasp. still am. and im pretty sure i could do decently against ya. and no, i dont know everything. what i do know is that golfin has a very bad habit of pride and conceit. also, another bad habit that makes him think he's always right and the devs are wrong. well... yeah. I dont mix with those types of people. 

 

GL in life, but you probably aren't gonna do very well with that type of attitude.
