Someone's on the ego train... Just because you're a Gizzmo doesn't mean you know all that much more than me and I'm just some peasant... Sheesh.

And you're right, I don't know you, but from what I can tell, it's not a huge wonder why you complain about needing to do missions in standard battles.

Actually he does know more than you, because he's played the game for longer. But that's beside the point. The reason players complain about having to do missions in normal battles is because it's boring and frustrating.

First, you can only play on a limited set of maps, most of which are unpopular. That is one of my main frustrations with the game at the moment. What's the point of playing if you play on the same old maps all the time, especially ones that you don't like?

Second, rank brackets are huge. Right now auto-created battles are poorly balanced. You will almost always be up tiered somehow. Add drugs to the combination and completing missions is a terrible grind.

Third, the mission update could have been implemented differently. The most problematic mission was "cap x flags" or "cap x points" or "finish first in battle." These could be done very quickly in 1v1 battles. However, something like "earn 300 EXP" or "earn 100 crystals" or "destroy 50 tanks" can not be farmed so easily. Yes, you can kill another tank in a 1v1 50 times over, but it takes considerable time and energy, and isn't worth it for the average player.

I see all these kids complaining "Well oh it's too hard cuz it's a drug fest at high rank and I need to waste my drugs to do the mission" blah blah blah. Fun fact: The only reason you think you need more drugs to complete a mission is because you make yourself believe such! It's simple mind games. If you think it's impossible without X, then you will literally fail every time without X item. So, look at it like this: I will complete my mission without using drugs and save them for when I need.

 

Also, why complain when 90% of missions give you a return plus a little extra on drugs.

This blatantly untrue. It's not a mind-game. I rarely drug, and when I do, I can't compete anyway, because the dis-balance at my rank is so high. For players stuck in the gap between M2 and M3, playing is extremely frustrating, because you are always uptiered because of the rank brackets and you will face drugging M3s and M4s. You cannot fight back, because your equipment simply isn't to snuff, and you can't buy M3s like you used to anyway. So I will play these battles. Drugs or no drugs I finish with something like 0.4 K/D and 200-300 EXP. You could argue that if I was more skilled, I could do better. But it doesn't matter. Brute force matters. And most of these players have been playing longer than I have (hence the higher ranks), so I cannot outplay them even with "skill." Players are right when they say it is a drug-fest. I complete my missions. But completing them is grindy, boring, and frusturating.

Those kinks will be ironed out. We're tracking our data and taking notes, and we'll proceed accordingly. But we'll make our decisions based on solid data, not on general observations.

I don't know if you know this, but I think if the devs are reading the data well and doing good calculations and decisions, they must have been expecting the backlash, was that the case or they just expected a good reception?

 

That may tell us if they know what they are doing or not. Not that we need to know that of course.

 

Personally I wouldn't trust numbers in this case.

 

I'd like Tanki to do well, for players and for you people that are employed there, I just think it is not headed in the right direction, I think they are reading the data wrong or reading to much data and I think they are listening to the wrong people... Invincibility?! Come On! Just imagine a clan full of tanks with Invincibility.

I would do this (and have done in past) but... I now have the "super-mission" to get 81,000 crys for 99,999 xp.

 

Can you imagine how long that would take if I just did one mission/day and logged out?

 

Once that Super-Mission is complete I can go back to pro-battles.  And next time I'd think 2x about keeping it - or not.

No one said anything about the battle button. I don't use it either. That doesn't change what matches I get into.

Hello!

 

I did the weekend giveaway.I made 2000 kills.It took a lot of drugs and time.Now I have the Shark T-B M3 module already.So I request that any other module of your or my choice should be given.Or else crystals should be given.I can recall a similar giveaway in which spider module was given and instead 50k crystals were given.A module is my only motivation to take so much time out of my usual routine and use so many drugs.Kindly look into this.

This is how it's always been with these giveaways where you had to make kills. Spider module was never a prize in a giveaway like this. You might be talking about another kind of contest with that module as prize.

At least it is for experience and not kills.  Isida will come in handy here - just need to find battles with a lot of "fatties"

This is how it's always been with these giveaways where you had to make kills. Spider module was never a prize in a giveaway like this. You might be talking about another kind of contest with that module as prize.

So I wasted all the drugs and time for 10 golds? 

​I am not saying to give me crystals but another module with almost the same protection.And I am not exchanging..this is a completely different situation..

You are asking for the ability to return the module you would win to receive a different module "of the same kind". So you are wanting to exchange it. Also, I believe that a module counts as "other prizes" so if you had read the terms and conditions before the contest (or for any of the previous identical contests) you would have known that you were only going to get the golds

I am not trying to return it...I already have it which I bought with the crystals I earned, cannot have it twice...So its just unlucky for me to have bought it before??And I have almost  no advantage of doing the 2k kills?

Well, I had a few crystals saved up. With the sale, I initiated some MUs. I noticed it will be a full two weeks before they are all done.

 

Any guess on matchmaking system roll-out? The vlog implies it is urgent and imminent. The urgency of it seems to be weighing on all the devs and the vlog participants. I don't doubt that, but is it imminent? Are we waiting a few days, a few weeks, or a few months?

 

I know you can't promise, but it sure seems close enough for a ROM-SWAG. (rough order of magnitude scientific wild ass guess)

You offer me no hope. I suppose I'll hang another week or two and see.

 

As to changes, well, the ones that make everything I'm good at not work, those are the frustrating ones. Before The Great Leveling, my twins-viking was a joy. I could accelerate into a cluster, spinning my turret and my hull this way or that, and it responded to my every need, even reversing precisely, to devastating effect, as long as I could keep the opponents guessing and off balance. After the extreme reduction in acceleration parameters, none of that worked. I had to start over. It wasn't learning to do better. It was starting from zero. Sure, I had a pool of knowledge to draw from, but it was a pool that constantly reminded me of how good that rig used to be. (Note, I never met another twins-viking like me before the leveling. Now I know a few. They are skilled players, don't get me wrong, but no one seemed to have the same set of skills I'd developed. Likewise for my son and his smoky-wasp. He could effectively fight four rails or four shafts (or combo thereof) simultaneously because the accelerations and his precision skills and tactical awareness let him keep them from ever hitting him.)

 

Also, it isn't that I don't like Skype-coordinated play, it is that it is so much work. There is extra effort keeping my computer set up, but much harder is the scheduling. If there were a couple dozen players I knew played about the same schedule as I do by happenstance, sure. I could keep the Skype working, and just ping fellow players without forethought, but I don't see that working. It has proving a significant effort to coordinate anyone with my two sons and me, meaning we three were already coordinated. Just getting a fourth always proved difficult.

 

I recall Hazel-Ra addressing coordination and scheduling. He pointed out how hard it is.

 

The matchmaking may help a little in this regard, but it won't stick friends together, and I doubt it can account for players who will Skype if on at the same time.

 

I've seen it suggested that the game needed built-in voice communication. My vague recollection of response was that it was impossible, or at least impractical from the standpoint of the game as is.

 

At the moment, writing seems to sooth the pain. I've about said my piece, though, and then there will be just the pain.


The thing with voice-comms is that it's just not practical for us to build a dedicated system when there are so many around that work great. We'd rather spend time and energy developing something for the game mechanics, rather than try to reinvent the wheel.

 

As for building relationships, that's entirely in the players' hands. I'm afraid all we can do is offer the opportunity to meet others.

I can't tell you how they're reading the data, because I'm not involved in that process. But you can't say that they're reading it wrong if you haven't even seen the data.

I'm sorry, the contest rules were very clear. Prizes may not be exchanged, and that includes exchanging the prize module for another one.

Sorry, really cannot give a timeline. We have a wishful-thinking target date in mind, but so many things could throw us off track that we're not gonna bother naming a date.

Apart from the answer that @Cyborg quoted, there's a lot more. The truth is that there really isn't a "typical" day in the life of a CM. What I gave in that reply, was an example of a typical day where nothing unusual happens, but that's a day that only happens maybe twice a month lol.
