Can you tell me where I can find these Wasp/Fire battles please? they sound like good fun...

There isn't an official format for them, but groups of players organise them together and play them in closed battles. You just have to know people.

i have complained in the past.. but after looking into others games i came to the conclusion that ..we all need to remember this is a company who also needs to keep alive .and they also have bills and over cost to pay ...if they gave everything to us then this company would not stay alive for long...

i understand this is only about the cost of buying but it also is a little bit about %

I couldn't have said it better myself. Ultimately it's a VERY delicate balance to strike for any game developer — juggling resources, expenses, profit and giving back to the community. And by "giving back to the community", I mean giving something beyond the game experience.

If you think about it, when you buy a game for €20 (just an example), what you're getting is the game, full stop. You play the game, have fun with it for 20 hours (or however long it takes to complete it) and it ends there. Sometimes you'll get DLCs and patches, but that's the end of it.

Games like Tanki Online face some daunting challenges. We're providing a game where you can play and achieve endgame content completely for free, all while maintaining a sizable team of programmers, designers and other administration staff, plus some pretty expensive equipment that becomes outdated EXTREMELY fast (which is typical of technology nowadays).

On top of that, we're constantly trying to keep you happy and entertained with community celebrations and events. Don't get me wrong, I'm not saying it's a chore. We love what we do, and that's probably what keeps us going. But it would feel good if people would start seeing our perspective a little bit more, and understanding what great lengths we go to when it comes to making you happy.

Those other games have only one unified pricing unlike TO. Everyone pays the same. Here? Russians get things cheaper than rest of the world and charge them more expensive. :)

I agree..

Here is an idea for one of your press staff to look into.. The on going behind the scenes of what it takes to run a company ( ex..tanki )

It would be nice to see a break down of some of the over  head cost that goes out every month ...

Ex/ rent / wages / over head - hydro water phone things along that line .. and also roughly the incoming into the company ..

Please make note i understand a lot of this would be private but just a ball park figures to get a inside  look of what it takes to run a company ..

Then players could understand a little bit better..   This is only an Idea ..

Have you tried to change your money to other -currency. For example in my country we need to pay % to excange from Euros to Rubles. So think about that. If they take less from us, then it would be unfair against Russians. I am sure that exchange currency commision % of cost is reason why we have a bit bigger prizes to buy things than Russians

I somewhat disagree. Yes. But the commission is not much. So,it seems you're from Europe. Does it mean you can buy crystals in rubles then?

Russians are paying a large cut.It is more unfair toward us than them! If 20% to 25% maybe, but this is unfair treatment.

Ask them to show their financial sheets then. I doubt they would ever show that, even on AP website.

You can't know the truth without seeing them.

my intentions was more to have players more aware of what goes into running a company ..with all the over head and money having to put out each month ..and for the profit in the end if it's done right.. they  should break even or have a small profit each month for a rainy day ..

for example ..

running a house hold . bills are  rent or mortgage . hydro / water / phone / cable / internet / food / gas ( for the car ) maintenance /  money for clothes / and the extra's to be used on birthday gifts or a night out on the town or take out food.. every thing adds up

its similar in a company but they have wages and higher cost for bills then regular house bills ..when you have computers running 24 /7 and having someone to stay in the building to make sure things run and have emergency staff ..if things go wrong.. sure the mods are volunteer but others are not ..also the cost of supply's and other cost play a factor into all of it..

i really would like to know more on how they come up with the decision  on what to put into a sale and how they get the % for each sale ..is it based on the amount of players each month or on the sale of crystals ?..this would be interesting to find out..

Are you from the US/Canada? You use words like, hydro ? Gas instead of petrol.

Why should anyone get mad?  Your questions are perfectly reasonable.  The figures might well be published to some extent somewhere anyway.  It i interesting knowing what countries people are from.  I am writing from GB.  I guess it is all wall to wall primaries over on your side right now.   I was talking with someone from the US the other day and he was saying that he had a lot of lag and had difficulty with finding games to complete his missions.  I was curious why you guys might be using Tanki from the EU with the servers being in Malta, were as the Brazilian severs might be a little closer and they would keep the same hours so more likely to find games ect.

Actually it is.

From 02:00 UTC on May 1 till 02:00 UTC on May 2 => Is this sale on 1st? Yes. Id this sale on 2nd? Yes. I can continue with the rest. So there are actually 2 sales on durign one day, but not at the same time. (according to this forum announcement).

You probably did not read the image and the announcement properly since, to me, everything is pretty clear, you just need to read it carefully and not give a "rush-to-comment" opinion.

  • Bonus on crystals' purchases will run from 02.00 UTC on May 1 to 02.00 UTC on May 2 (24 hours)
  • As soon as the servers' restart comes, the bonus above is removed and the discount on paints will start — it will run from 02.00 UTC on May 2 to 02.00 UTC on May 3 (24hours)
  • As soon as the servers' restart comes, the discount on paints is removed and the discount on hulls will start — it will run from 02.00 UTC on May 3 to 02.00 UTC on May 4 (24 hours)
  • As soon as the servers' restart comes, the discount on hulls is removed and the discount on turrets will start — it will run from 02.00 UTC on May 4 to 02.00 UTC on May 5 (24 hours)
The image you took from VLOG is pretty clear as well — it shows in detail the fact that each event will run for 24 hours only, but since those 24 hours are not calculated from midnight to midnight but from 02.00 to 02.00, they overlap 2 different dates.

This has always been done the same ways, updates, discounts, events, etc.. were always released at 02.00 UTC since it is at that exact time that servers are restarted.

In conclusion, it is really clear and easy to understand that each event will not be held while another one is still active, they will substitute each others at servers' restarts :)

Is this all you do now? Confuse players to make rhe promotions seem better than they actually are? Set the rever restart to be at 0UTC and you'll clear up all the confusion.

While I appreciate where you're coming from with this question, I don't think it would be a wise idea. If you even forget the fact that this information is strictly confidential, there are still so many ways that it could be misinterpreted because of the lack in context.

Without proper understanding of the whole context, it's very hard to make real sense of the numbers. The information would just be misleading to the majority of the readers because they have no understanding of the context of running a business the size of Alternativa; their experience is limited to running a household at best.

C'mon dude, you know full well that any misunderstanding with the graphic chart was unintentional. The text explained things very clearly so there's no room for misunderstanding.

I'd really appreciate it if you avoided such accusations in the future. They're really unfair and help absolutely nobody. There were others who pointed out the possible confusion in the graphic. I accepted their comment with gratitude and will try my best to ensure it doesn't happen again. But accusing us of trying to confuse players really doesn't help at all.

I ultimately think that we need to just be grateful for the things we're given. I mean... we all love this game, so why does it matter if there's a sale at all? Just keep playing, saving and looking forward to the sale, no matter the discount. :) After all, buying new hulls/turrets/paints is no fun unless you have the satisfaction of saving long and hard for it. :D

I blame tanki for over promoting multiple sales and giving ridiculously high discounts too frequently, the economy of the game was already damaged because of this back in 2013, instead of giving everyone false hope for high discounts, perhaps the best way is to have more events like april fools day or the Halloween celebrations last year

interesting to hear about this .. cause in Canada we can  go into most business and ask for there information / or there tax books and if done correctly they should allow us to see them..and i fully understand laws are different in other parts of the world..for the rest of what you said i do agree that there is a majority of younger players who would not understand the full concept of running a company with all the litigation of lawyers and day to day structure of paying out and the income return ..

thanks for all your help

ELIZABETH1122 ....  thanks .. there is a sight in the off topic section of where players live ..and other interesting topics of what players favorite foods to music to so much more .. if you get a change plug into the section and enjoy the topics..  ..

I followed you link Thank you.  It was very interesting.  I agree with your comments concerning transparency of Tanki.  It is true that many companies are quite open about finances even here in Britain.

Evidently according to Wiki  https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Malta

"Malta has a mixed reputation for transparency and a DAW Index score of 6, although both are expected to improve as Malta increasingly adopts more comprehensive legislative framework for financial services.[141] Malta has a regulator, the MFSA, with a strong business development mindset, and the country has been successful in attracting gaming businesses, aircraft and ship registration, credit-card issuing banking licences and also fund administration. Service providers to these industries, including fiduciary and trustee business, are a core part of the growth strategy of the Island. Malta has made strong headway in implementing EU Financial Services Directives including UCITs IV and soon AIFMD. As a base for alternative asset managers who must comply with new directives, Malta has attracted a number of key players including IDS, Iconic Funds, Apex Fund Services and TMF/Customs House.[142]"
