Well, there are different kind of crosswords, to be honest!

I am not sure if you are aware that there are "blank" crosswords, i.e. crosswords were you have a set of questions and must write their answers down to match / combine with each others — these are the hardest crosswords I ever did and we took the idea from them. We never said that riddles would be easy, not always at least, we warned everyone that the level of difficulty would randomly increase or decrease ;)

 

 

The riddle was intended to be hard, sorry. With the first riddles, users complained they were too easy. Now, with latest riddles, users complain they are too hard — it is impossible to satisfy everyone and this is why we have different levels of difficulties, it is up to you to find your own level to play on.

 

 

Sorry, but forcing you all to "use your brains" should not be hurting at all — I suppose that using them properly is, INSTEAD, something really important :D

use the wiki .. that is how i did it and many others.. i did not use the amount of letters requested cause i also noticed it was wrong.. so i did ask for them to go back to the first entry's and check them cause after they posted the correction it would been unfair for others who posted the correct words but they called it wrong. . so give it time and we will see what happens in the end..

Exactly — as I said before, that mistake was indeed an issue, but the paints' names to submit are not influenced by the given hints.

Also, MANY users posted the correct answers BEFORE I fixed that mistake, so it is not unfair at all, let's just say that out of luck or smart thinking they by-passed the issue succesfully.

 

Yet, must be direct on this, I again ask you to pardon us for that mistake :)

How did you not know he Could of posted the wrong picture as 2 things on the Google forum was linked to one answer. Explain that.

No — the hint was wrongly written, but not on purpose.

 

 

like above, how did you not know it wasn't the wrong picture you put in Google forum, as like I said the crossword said needed 6 letters in the box and on the little crossword picture it was six. I'm just thinking if you note down what the answers are and check them.

All the images were identical, just with different sizes, so there is nothing weird in them showing six blank spaces each for Row 5. Yet, as I explained above, this was the only trick we planned to use.

 

The issue is, we got fooled too and we copied the "six blank spaces" inside Row 5's hint — this is our mistake and I explained and asked pardon for it :)

Then why don't you accept both answers? It will bring out identical outcomes as the mistake wasbt there then the fastest would won any way, use that wise thinking and don't be a termagant.

Well, did I mention a definitive list of answers? For what I can recall, I did not — the official list will be out on Friday as usual and you'll be quite surprised to see it :)

I am really sorry if this is making you upset, really. This week's riddle was still a crossword, it just had a little "hard step" into it. As I said above, the only "hard step" we planned was to have a little trick in the image, only one.

Unfortunately, that trick fooled us to and we copied its length in the hints — this caused these issues :)

 

If "Row 5" mistake was fixed in time, I am sure that you would have had less issues, really. In any case, as I said above, paints' names are unique (apart for celebrative ones, where you could use the same for multiple answers ;)), so even if the hint was wrong, the name to be submitted was still the same one.

hey, for the fifth one, i only wrote the first 6 letters of the whole 10 letter thing. so twhat will happen to me?

for example, if the answer was tankers'day, and it was given length is 6, i wrote tanker. so what will happen to me? dont u think this contest should be canceled or something, cause these mistakes turn out to be really unfair for some ;'(
