[Guide] What to Do?: Respawning

 Share

Recommended Posts

Hello tankers. This article is tips for using every second of the battle, even when respawning. The death time comes with the death of the computer, and the flyover comes with flying objects as well*.  This is something like “How to react to Tanki” but goes into a little more detail and on one subject rather than just tips on random pieces. We'll be talking about the three main parts of respawning: death, flyover, and phantom. Respawning has been talked about in little pieces over the past, but no one has talked about it in one article, until now.  Let’s get started!

Disclaimer: CJGuitar does not do this also he is not responsible for any damage done to the computer at all. Will fight lawsuits.

1. Dying

So you’re low health. A smoky (or whatever) is happily  draining your the remains of your health.  Soon you will be a heap of scrap metal.  What to do?

A. If you are in a DM or TDM, lead the opponent to someone else while reducing his health. [/size]

If they are chasing you, this is easy. Go to a Firebird or Freeze or Twins. When you die, then you can come back and get the weakest one. If you go fast enough, and have a Railgun you can get them both unless he is you teammate . Talk about kill-stealing. He could just stop chasing you as well.

B. In CTF not holding the flag, backup your teammate with your hull.

When escaping with the flag, put your hull in front of the leading pursuer while shooting him. This will slow him down for a few seconds and let your teammate get away.
The added bonus is that you take all the fire so your teammate doesn’t take any. Once you die, you still take all the fire.

C. In all game modes, make a roadblock.

In CTF, this works well is there is a teammate nearby. To do this, press F to drop the flag then, drive toward your opponent, shooting. You will die, but your opponent will have metal to go through, giving your teammates time to get the flag.
In all game modes, do this in a choke point. It will give your teammates time to defend. Goes well when a friendly mine, but not yours. It will be gone.

Flyover

This is only happens when you die(obviously). This is the only time that you get to see the whole map. It’s not as good as spectator mode, but almost as good. This is when get to find your flag; see the main group of enemies, which is good for finding the gold drop and see all the points,if you don’t look at the bottom right. This is very handy during a stalemate of flags, goldbox hunting, etc. One thing to note is the all drops zones, and enemy health bars disappear at you death.

Phantoms

One of the best tools to annoy your opponent, capture flags, and lots of other tricks.

A. Hide until you’re ready to attack.

Let’s say your base is being swarmed by enemies. You just respawned right by a Twins-Mammoth and you’re a Rail-Hornit. You can: 1. Wait to materialize and get just one shot of at him then die. 2. You can drive into him and stay there protected in his own tank. This will annoy him, and cause him to get a Nitro, and try to drive out of you. Now, you don’t have to take Tanki Physics to know that he cannot get away from you as long as you stay with him. He will take his focus of your teammates and try, hopelessly to get you. Then you teammates can start shooting at him, and once they do that, you can pop out and get him as well.

B. Have your teammate or you take you to the enemy base.

Since this was in the V-Log #80, I will not spend a whole lot of time on this.
Simple, drive into teammate, have him take you to the enemy base, go through the enemies, take flag, go home. If you don’t make it before you split, just keep going. You have a full-health-er halfway to the base! It’s hard enough to get out of your base non-damaged, nonetheless, get halfway.
This also works on enemies as well. Let’s say a medium to heavy hull takes your flag. You, a light hull, just respawned nearby and a line of tanks leads to the flag carrier. You drive to the flag carrier, get inside of him, and follow him to his base. As he gets close, jump out of him, mash to 2 button, while shooting him. If your teammates are shooting at him as he leaves your base, he’ll probably forget you, or just don’t care. This move can at least buy your team a few more seconds, if not a stalemate.

C. Passing “tank rush hour”

This is very useful on crowded maps, like a full Monte Carlo. You just drive right on through your teammates. It saves time in a crowd trying to get somewhere like “THE GOLDBOX IS FALLING RIGHT NOW!!”, or getting your flag or to get to the point quickly.

Conclusion

Did you like it? If so tell me below. If I get good feedback on this then I might do a series.
If you think I need to add something, tell me.
Some of these tips I never saw anyone use them before, so I giving away my secrets!
I hope this will help you to use every second of the timer.

Good luck,

Well written, I would suggest using less vibrant colors for division, and try and make things stand out by increasing font size and maybe a white, as it sticks out well. Besides that, very good job.

I uploaded it to Google photos thinking it needs to be online. It did not like it. It says,"You cannot use the image extension on this community" What type of direct link do I need?

You can only use .gif, .png and .jpg extensions on forum. Just upload the pic on Imgur or Tinypic. :)
