[Issue 53] Results: Mine Art

Entries were judged by their beauty, originality and neatness. With this in mind (and with our apologies for the delay), we have finally selected the top 3!

 

In 1st place and winning 30k crystals:
JIIOPII-0

 

 

Excellent entry. This fit the criteria really well, looks neat and beautiful, and was quite original with the combination of tank and drawing. Well done!

 

In 2nd place and winning 25k crystals:

 

 

 

A high quality entry here which must have taken quite a bit of effort. A neat and good-looking drawing, with a nice original cartoon-style approach. 

 

In 3rd place and winning 20k crystals:

@CooperO

 

 

 

Whilst not a proper mine drawing, it was decidedly artful... and, fitting the criteria of originality, beauty and neatness quite well, managed to take 3rd place! 

 

Unfortunately, no consolation prizes have been awarded. There were some other original entries, but these fell down when it came to beauty and neatness.

 

Lastly, a special mention to @Avizer's wonderful entry. Simply inspirational.

for the mines i have had /them for over two years building up and i needed a place to waste them ..i did not care to win i expected more entry's way better then mine..but there was only a small amount of entry's not sure why .. it does not cost much for mines it only cost .50 ..so anyone could have won with little or less then my amount.. it was all in the creative way and straight lines.. i only entered in for  fun ..so even if i lost i would not care.. it was posted on what they wanted and as i was making mine.. thats when i realized  on how to do perfect lines ..so the next time if there is one ..then i will spend way more time and being more creative to make it alot more challenging ..

first place won with less mines used then me ..so not to worry like i said before it was not in how many you used it was in the design and the straight lines .. i know how you feel i have lost many contests in the past and felt the same .. this is only my second contest winning in tanki ..

 

if you entered ask your self this..  did you have fun making your entry / did you give it your best  //  then after that then answer this .. was there room to improve your entry to make it stand out from all the rest and where you find issues with your own work..think of ways to improve it for the next time when  this or other contests happen ..so you can grow from your past entry's and others to make your next contest  the amazing one that  win's ..

Since there's a possibility of 'unfair results' here, we are concerned and would like you to point us to the appropriate Rule of the contest which was broken:

 

Rules:

- All entries must be posted in this topic in spoilers.

- You must take the screenshot yourself and have your experience bar showing.

- Mine art done with test server accounts do not count.

- Your mine art must be RECENT; you will have to submit a screenshot of mine art that you created purely for this contest.

- Any kind of screenshot-editing is not allowed.

- If you post more than one entry, only the last one will be judged.

Yes - this doesn't mean that you had to plant all the mines yourself. It was still obviously @CooperO's creation, she just got another player to help to implement it in practice.

We did...

 

I wouldn't split prize crystals between two people because this was supposed to be an individual thing.

However, the concept of CooperO's mine art required two people, and the 2nd person only placed one mine (which isn't really enough to ask for any share of the prizes anyway).

Thus, there was never any rule against multiple players planting mines, as long as the mine art was clearly the concept/creation of the entrant. The prize would only be given to the creator (the entrant).

You did have a chance - I shortlisted your entry for consideration. However, its lack of originality let it down. Remember, the three criteria were:

- Beauty,

- Originality,

- Neatness.

 

Apologies if I'm wrong, but I didn't think your entry was very original at all, though well executed.

 

I can provide similar explanations for why all non-winning entries didn't win, but that would take forever.

only the picture .. it never said that you could not have more then one player making it with you .. so you could have had 10 players but only one person / player could enter and he / she would be the only one getting the prize if they won...

That being said, I don't think 2 mines could possibly win 30k as the contest was meant to be of mine drawings, but it's still an excellent entry.

Good thing I wasn't aiming for that prize, it is actually more of a 'joke' entry. ^_^  At first I even planned to just post a pic of a randomly dropped mine, but then I decided to make it look nice at least. Thank you for the compliment though!
