[Declined] Topic Manager

Recommended Posts

Sometime it gets hard to manage a topic by yourself.. When school times

Also If you give it to your friend it makes you broken.. (happened to me)

Why cant 2 guys manage a topic? In Esport section Tandem..

This is more useful when you are banned..

Also in vacation time your coleaders would help you :)

+ When you are banned you must be able to use this facility (To add managers)

The forum does not support such a feature. In order for someone else to edit others' posts, he needs such a permission built-in in his forum group. The forum group for users is fixed and cannot be altered. If we change the permissions of that forum group, it'll affect all players.

No like only the players who are selected by leader can do it

It's not as simple as that you know - in a typical situation, both the leader and the player he/she'd choose have the same forum group.

As of now, the forum does not have a feature which allows a topic author to choose which player can be granted access for editing.

And how exactly would two members manage the same topic unless they share a common account? And if someone is banned and still using the shared account, it defeats the purpose of the ban.

yeah i was about come and say that in my clan i am co-leader and to can edit our topic we just share one account so both join at it (actually 3 of us) and edit what we have to

actually if you trust someone change your topic why dont trust him your account too? ;)

The work around would be to give the 2nd post of a topic to a trusted collaborator, you can separate your topic in aspects which both can manage independently and update independently.  And when one is going to be away for a while, he can pass on the parts of the topic that needs to be regularly updated to the guy in the 2nd post, and vice versa.

By doing so, you also help in nominating a trusted person to the topic, this way, if something happens and the initial poster goes missing or has to leave for some reason, moderators can this way decide more easily to whom to pass on the topic ownership to.

yeah sure, just like the few good clans who closed cause one of those "same-account trustees" eventually got into a fight with someone and closed the whole clan topic / and or hid it altogether.

btw, mods will never restore topics which had such fate!

This idea isn't about sharing accounts. It presumes that one other person gets rights to edit the first post of a topic. The same way we can edit anyone's topics and posts, but he's suggesting to do that just for one person. And that's impossible, since such an option can't be given without allowing the player to edit all other topics and posts in the section, which would basically make them a moderator.

Umm, yes. Such type of a feature is not supported natively by IPB. If there's an add-on for it, then it will have to be purchased separately which will require money and it's not a feature worth spending money on at the moment. If it's not available as an add-on, then it will have to be coded which would require extensive time and resources, something that is not available in abundance at the moment.
