I didn't see your post until today and I have reached the same conclusion with kick2, so I've asked for it to be closed.

Decency is defined as "behavior that confirms to accepted standards of morality or respectability". This is something that I have found to be lacking completely from Tanki as of late.

 

Here are some examples, both from game play within the past hour on my alternate account. First, I was playing a game of CTF, and had brought the flag mostly back to the base for a cap, to get sniped by a Railgun. Then, a teammate picked up the flag, and I asked to cap it (as I had done most of the work to get the flag back to base). He proceeded to cap the flag, then, in chat, he said "ty". Thank You????? I don't care if this is a video game or real life, you do not steal something that someone has put work into (in my case, some supplies), then say thank you. That is the epitome of being rude.

 

For the second example, it is pretty much the same story. I was playing in Industrial zone, and using dictator to cap a flag. As you can expect, that needs at least a double armor to cover for the speed of the tank. After killing a Firebird, I ran into a "teammate" head on, who, even though I had the flag, kept driving straight into me, rendering me motionless. Of course, since I was immobile, I got killed. He picked up the flag, I requested to at least cap, and then he capped it. Later, I was about to cap another flag, and he attempted (unsuccessfully) to push me away from capping.

 

 

It is behavior like this that really has me questioning the integrity of the community. While most people do not partake in these activities, there is still a large portion of people that do this. As I already said, this is not something you, morally, should do in a video game, much less in real life.

 

I have seen increasing amounts of people doing this kind of stuff throughout my year and a half of Tanki. It is also not just limited to this- it can expand to something like being rude in chat, and also to the extreme case of flat out sabotage in battles.

 

To anyone that has read this far, I ask you to expand on this. Provide examples of common behavior that lacks decency, and also provide any solutions or possible  solutions to help combat immoral behavior in Tanki.

When your teammate drives head on and doesn't allow you to cap, that is pure trolling, sabotage, multing etc. But if you drop the flag and someone picks it up and then caps, I think it is fair, you are the one who died, someone shot you. You weren't killed because of another teammate, but by an enemy, and when it is player vs player all is fair (except hacks and sometimes lag).

Those are newbie jealous kids who can't even cap a flag on their own with their M0s, they just know how to snatch things. I have been Victim of this and many times reported but nothing happened. Once in a Monte Carlo CTF game some Nub who didn't read Game Rules pushed everyone and said I am helping Blue team there's a friend in it. Many times this happened that when I managed to take Flag with my Wasp+Smoky and have been doin' good for the team, Some nooba Defender with Mammoth/Titan/Dictator Starts blocking me to give him flag or else they abuse me or block me whole game. IMO there's nothing that can be done but yeah Decency has ended in Lower Ranks :/.

Eh, I disagree here.  Unless you're crushing them or leading by a relatively large amount, the flag should be capped as soon as possible.  I don't mean to criticize, but you sound a tad selfish in your first example.  Other than that, I agree.  Since I started this account, I've found that at the lower ranks, there are more jerks.

But the thing is, if you are playing on a medium map, by the time that they get to the base, you have already respawned. Then, it only takes like 3 seconds to pass the flag back over.

I can pretty much understand why the first case was a complete misunderstanding. Perhaps the way you told in chat to 'Let you cap the flag' was misinterpreted by him as you giving him permission to cap the flag and that's why he said 'Thank You'. I do this all the time (brining the flag to the base and letting one of the defenders capture it) so I can see how this case could be misunderstood. All in all, a simple misunderstanding and nothing more.

As for the second case, I would be a hypocrite if I blamed the guy who drove into you. I am guilty of driving into my teammates more times than I would care to admit. Of course, most of the time, it's unintentional. It's almost like walking straight into someone in a corridor even when you could see them coming. But him not letting you clap the flag, yeah... That was sabotage. It's against the rule and if you had taken a video of it, he could have got the punishment he deserves.

As for that issue specifically, there is no rule which prevents a player from capturing a flag you brought to the base if you were killed in the process by an enemy. This tends to happen a lot in the lower ranks and no one is at fault really. As you start to understand the game ethics and decency, it's just natural to let a guy who put in so much hardwork in brining the flag, capture it. Some do, some don't. As for me, I don't care who captures the flag as long as someone does. Also, do remember that if you bring the flag almost to the base, you'll get a lot of points even when someone else captures it. So, just keep your decent behaviour even when others don't for karma always wins. ;)

I have failed to go the trouble in the past but now I am recording every game. I will report every cheater and every mult if it take me two hours a day to edit post the video. That is the only way you can eventually get rid of them. Record them, block them and they WILL get tired of being blocked or be blocked forever one of the two.

 

Yesterday a player pushed me off the deck 4 times in noise. What kind of player does that? A cheater and mult. I had a decent game going until then.

I'm doing the same. Until TO releases kick2, there will be many "noobs" around

He replies as "I do not heal low ranks" Excuse me mate but this low ranker is in first and busting his tracks more than anyone in the entire battle... So yeah. The honor in tanki Online is DEAD

Maybe they are frustrated that you play badly or you are just joining too high rank battles.. Play with people your rank..
