A kind request to all you tankers out there.

Imagine this scenario. 4 VS 4 XP battle, score is 4-2 and you are winning. "Ahhhh, nice easy win, my enemies are nubs axaxaxaxa."

The noob in your team leaves the battle. "Even better, now I can get fund faster !!!111!!1111."

You press Enter on your keyboard. "3". Enemies don't stop. "Omg noobs stop its 3 vs 4 or admin will come and ban u !"

"Why?", an enemy asks. You want to punch him in the face.

2 minutes pass. Score: 4-4, nubs still haven't stopped capping, and you are left wondering why no one has joined your team.

You press Tab; 3 players in your team.

You head over to "Battles" on the top. The cause of the problem? The noob hadn't actually 'left' the battle, he had just closed his browser / shut down his computer.

You return to the battle. Score: 4-7. You lose the battle, and your dreams of getting a good fund are shattered.

Would you really want to be in this situation? Think about it.

Every year, thousands of keyboards and computer screens are smashed due to anger at noobs in Tanki, and hundreds of suicides are commited. Do you really want to be next?

So, the things that I'm trying to say to you are:

1. Please stop when the teams are uneven. Especially in XP/BP. Dear low ranks, I'm looking mainly at you.

2. If you don't like a battle, and want to leave it, please press Esc + Enter, or just exit by clicking on the Red Cross on the Top Right corner of your screen. Doing this will take you only about 3 seconds more. Do NOT, I repeat, DO NOT CLOSE YOUR BROWSER.

Show some respect. I hope you guys understand.

Wow, I don't know where I've been, but I actually had no idea that closing your browser does not automatically remove you from a game.  I usually leave my battles correctly, but I know I've closed my browser in the past while in a battle.

I plaid 4v4 xp today, nubs capped 4-0 before my team was full.

So we tried to close the gap, and did it rather successfully. Now 1 of the enemies raged  and quit, without me noticing. I capped a flag and the enemies started screaming "3" in a spamworthy way demandin a free cap. <_<

I think we won rather fairly after the game went back to 4v4.

I answered this issue in another topic.

Basically we just have to live with it until developers add the ability to return to a battle after you quit, because then the "fail-safe" will no longer be necessary. But for now I agree with this - as a courtesy to others please don't just close your browser's window if you want to quit.

Well, you can't be sure that the guy just closed his browser. Maybe his laptop ran out of battery or his browser crashed or any other such situation which didn't let him properly exit the battle. Happens a lot of times with me.

Yes, I know all those things could happen too; I just didn't add them to the OP.

Same here. I've closed my browser more then once - I'm glad I know this now, I certainly won't do it again!

Ugh, I really dislike when that happens. And to make it worse, it lasts for 5 minutes! That's more than enough time to flip a 6-0 to 7-6. I usually get so frustrated when this happens. Thankfully, a lot of the times the other team stops, although they might cap a flag before realizing, but certainly better than taking over.

This is a chronic problem that ruins lots of battles. The delevopers should make it so that the names listed on the battle screen match the names listed inside the battle. Seems pretty simple to me, maybe there is some reason that it's not. I don't see it as the fault of players, but a fault of the game.

I Agree!

I've seen this in Polygon Cup (Xp/Bp).There are 70% of the battles in which one team is outnumbered and the other team has to face a defeat. As for sandbox, you've already explained the scenario.

There should be a new mechanism for this so that the battles are fair and square.

But you can't stop mults from ruining your battle

That is the reason I lose 70% of xp/bp battles nowadays.

Non format doesn't matter much because of drugging. But it might affect there too if more than 1 player are creating such a situation.

That's the reason I never play sandbox battles apart from 1v1s and battles with friends, because I can't rely on my team and end up leaving because it's so unbalanced so it's just a waste of time.

Players that cannot stand being killed will be the ones to just close the browser .  They have a sort of anxiety and instead of just playing the game when your in the middle of destroying them they just vanish from the game.  They resent your score.  Mind you some use this sort of vanishing trick without closing the browser.  They are habitual game wreckers.  You see them going in and out of the game frequently every time some tries to kill them unless they are doing well.
