Disable supplies in unbalanced battles

Recommended Posts

@PrincessSeraphina, the only reason why I am even bothering to answer your query regarding my garage. Is so that you may have a full understanding where I am coming from. I have seven different accounts. There is the very first tanki account where I foolishly bought each and every item that came available. Needless to say I don't pay this account very often any more. I have two accounts that I conservatively bought turrets and hulls based upon the purpose that they will serve in battle. The remaining four accounts are Smokey/Hunter with OD green paint. I have come to accept that if I can master one system. I can gain a mastery of the others. My skills will eventually fall in line with the same level of discipline. @PrincessSeraphina, Do you honestly feel that you can confidently go into battle with a minimalist attitude and come forth victorious? Also, I would like to go on record by saying I haven't now, nor ever, nor plan to in the future "mult". H E double hockey sticks, I just learned what that meant this past week. My FPS and ping suffer as it is with one game going on. Much less to consider running two players at the same time. Besides the gap in tank between my accounts are so vast I couldn't do it if I wanted to.

The fact of the matter remains. When one side is player heavy then their drugs should go into temporary suspension. This should at least give the player light team a halfway decent fighting chance.

You can't always win the games you've played. Not even generalissimos. Sometimes stronger players joins to my battle, as a team. Same things happen to me. I die without touching them. I use my drugs to reply them, sometimes works. Sometimes not. If there is no way for me to win, i just leave. No need to push myself so hard to win. I don't even try. If you got a good team, you can win. No matter what, even if they drug. But you guys are didn't have enough battle to experience that. Sorry, but i have to judge you by looking at your rank. So many people are complaining about drugs, but they keep avoiding the fact there is something called Pro Battle Pass, use that thing. You might say "But i play every battle i want, that's not your business." Yes, it's not. But you can't change the fact that You can't always get what you want. Open your eyes, please.

@Winner_of_Turkey, you are clearly missing the point of this thread... the issue is not whether to drug or not to drug, nor is it who has the skills in battle and who doesn't.   The main issue here is the preservation of the battle in progress from cradle to grave.  When on side becomes disproportionately greater than the other in sheer combatants.  There is that Custer's Last Stand effect.  Custer's army had superior fire power, battle hardened and skilled troops at his command.  Yet, the combined forces of the Lakota, Northern Cheyenne, and Arapaho Native American tribes slaughtered them with sheer numbers.

Then why are you suggesting the disabling supplies? Huh? If it's not about drugs. Balance of the game always changes, depending on the player's style. Drugs also effects that. I'm sure you don't even know what you are suggesting.

Clearly you are some kind of "Special" kitty.  So, please allow me to spell it out for you. Using my Custer's Last Stand reference.  The Red team which includes Col. Custer and the 7th Cav. armed with M2 rifles and horses.  Is up against the Blue team which includes three of the Indian nations using M1 bows and horses.  The advantage that they have is that they out number the Red team at a count of 3 maybe even 4 to 1.  The red team is on top of their hill and having a time fighting off the blue because the Blue team is drugging up turning their once M1 bow and horses to almost M2 and M3 levels.  Can you see the problem now... or do I have to pull out the old Webster's dictionary and spell it out to you this way?  M.A.S.S.A.C.R.E.  At least if the red team were permitted to drug and the blue team were prevented (until once balanced again) then maybe, just maybe the red team might have a fighting chance.  That is the issue period end of subject.  Class dismissed.

Nice story pal. But you don't understand, you can't balance every battle. Eventually one side will be stronger. I know what you are talking about. But disabling supplies is one thing. There are players who waits for gold in the battle or some of them can't even rotate their turret. You can't win with these guys, even without supplies. You are missing the point.

Clearly you are the one missing the point Turkey. There is no reason why Tankers that are good sports and stay in a battle should be punished by relentless combatants that could care less about having an interesting match but instead want to inflate their digital egos by spawn killing the enemy with drugs and superior numbers. This does nothing to enhance anyone's gameplay or enjoyment of the game. If you cant see this then I truly cannot help you.

Of course everyone is going to lose. Some of my favorite matches are those that I have lost because the gameplay was so damn good. I have won matches that were absolutely terrible. The point is that when the match dissolves into 8vs2 there is no reason why the 2 players that desire to stay in the fight and hope to get any meager crystal payout should have to sit and be targets for the other team. This is especially evident in CTF matches where one team is up 9-1 and will not capture the final flag and there is still time to wait for the EBF to kick in.

One would like to hope that etiquette and good sportsmanship would prevail, but unfortunately that is rare. Instead we are faced with a system of play that encourages players to conduct themselves like asses. When there are simple solutions to rectify the problem it is negligent to even consider them when it would be for the benefit of EVERYONE involved.

I agree there are too many battles which are unbalanced in Tanki.  What do I mean by that you ask?  I've joined too many games where supposedly the number of players on the sides are even or one off but once I'm in the game the other team mysteriously has 2, 3, or 4 more players and my team appears to have non participating players (mults) and it seems to stay that way for the entire match and the teams never balance out.  As soon as a person joins my team it suddenly seems like the other team has two more players.  As Rebar619 pointed out this type of battle does not enhance gameplay and at that point when the team with more players is still drugging good sportsmanship is gone.  USMC_Tank_Commander has one of the better suggestions for helping the imbalance.  I would like to add to the drugging restriction that the team with at least 2 more players should have the extra players delay respawning in a round robin fashion until the numbers even up to make the game more sportsman like.

All these acts against drugs, no wonder why everyone against it is low rank. Its so funny. We already have a solution for that, if you truly open your eyes. Instead of crying about it. You'll see.

Coming up with weird ideas like "hey lets disable maps so noone can takeover D:"

I got nothing to say.

The PRO battle pass is a solution against drugging, but the problem OP addresses here is the imbalance of teams. Giving the losing team a temporary advantage over the winning team is the solution OP suggests.
In PRO battles with supplies disabled, it's not possible to give the losing team an advantage like described in the original post.

Compare it to the way CP works now: the winning team has been given the disadvantage of losing points if the losing team manages to hold the point.

It would be nice if all players played fairly, waited for full teams etc. Unfortunately, that's just not how the minds of most players work.
OP here just tries to find a way to restore game balance, if even to some extend.

Why would a losing team should get an advantage? That's not how game works. If they leave, its their free will. Maybe it'll take ages to fill the other team with players? That's why early battle termination exist.

Oh My God...  Look dude, what true advantage is the losing team really receiving?  Other than to be used as targets in a spawn shoot.  All I am asking for is a fighting chance.  I don't mind the fights are stacked in the opponents favor.  As a Marine I revel in it.  All I am asking is for the system to at least give me a fighting chance against a foe with superior numbers.  This can only be accomplished by a few means.  The first that I proposed of disabling the garage supplies of the team with superior number of combatants,  I  am not saying that this team is not cheated from using the power ups provided as pickups on the battlefield.  All I am saying is that they are restricted from using their garage supplies during periods of imbalance.  The next option would be to do away with the wait time that a player on the team with inferior numbers must endure after using a garage supply.  So if the player were to be able to spawn and use double damage, armor and speed right out of the box that might help.  The final option is to just put the spawning fields all over the battlefield.  This way the numerically superior team can't just sit in the spawning next like sharks in a tank on a feeding frenzy.

Furthermore, I am not saying to end the Early Battle Termination... yes players have free will and have the option to leave the battlefield at any time...  The good Lord knows there are several times that I leave a battle because real life interruptions.  But, I want the option to leave a battle because of real life not because I am tired of being a target for some other players to inflate their K/D while mine goes straight down the crapper.  I already have enough of an issue with my K/D because of non battle related issues:  self destruct because my tank isn't picking up flags, power ups, or control points;  self destruct because of the anti-hacking code because a fellow team tanker managed to muscle my tank on top of theirs as I struggle to get off of it;  self destruct because of lag because on a battle field like Monte Carlo driving a long with out any issues then a lag and next I know I am floating downwards in space;  self destruct because my connection was interrupted.

I am just saying make an off balanced fight look more attractive to players in the lobby who are looking for a fight.

You always have chance to fight against them. If you need team, get your friends and play a battle together. It's not possible to play someone who's not giving information or care enough to win the match. Even with the disabled supplies your enemy would be same. They will still be attacking. Bad players, "mults" or players with low tier items is the main fact of losing. I know what you want, i respect that. Everyone wants fair battle. But not with this suggestion. You just gotta adapt how system works and be part of it.

I think I have been adapting to the battles...  Let me ask you some questions.  When choosing what battles that you want to participate in what are some of the factors that you consider before you click Join?  I.E. do you lean towards DM or do you prefer Teams?  If you chose team play what fields: CTF, TDM, CP?  Once you have chosen what you want to play.  What consideration do you give to the battlefields?  Do you lean towards something long, yet similar like Brest or something short and irregular like Ploygon?  Once you have chosen your battle field.  What's your next considerations?  Rank and file structure of those in battle?  Which team is in the lead?  Which team is falling behind?  Are you one of those players who joins the winning side mid-battle?  Or are you the noble sort and join the losing side mid-battle?  The point that I am trying to get to is simple.  I am not looking for any great advantage when I join a battle.  But, at the same time I am not going to be the whipping boy in some orgy of other players

One final question.  I can't help but to notice that you are a Generalissamo.  When was the last time that you played any of your lower accounts or even started a fresh recruit account?  The problem here is you have achieved your rank.  Many great kudos on that feat.  However, I tend to believe that you have lost sight on how it feels to grow up in rank.  The pitfalls and traps.  I commend you on your K/D ratio.  However, was that ratio earned at the expense of disarmed citizens like history has shown in Germany, China and Korea?  Based upon what I see you would prefer it if Tanki had a battlefield where the enemy is locked in individual stalls where the turret is facing so as not to cause you any harm or damage.  Where your Thunder/Viking can survive relatively unscathed. No, I don't believe so.  You like battle.  You have chosen your system based upon your style of fighting.  You want to give a kicking without taking a licking.  I digress.

What I am saying, as I have been saying all along is this.  There should be some intermediary segment of game play when the teams are becoming evidently lop sided.that will prevent the early termination of battle that would entice and afford other players to join in.

yes u have said it quite right.. in your comment u said one thing that i am also concerned , minds of most player .. the true sportsmanship.. how can u maintain that? i think this is the true problem that hurts .. when some player hits another  teeth less , paw less tanker with full drug even when that poor tanker is lonely in the loosing side.. this actually means nothing .. it does not show the philosophy of using drug and the brilliance of using drug in proper time. hence , drug is not used in a brilliant way ,.. it hurts  :)

yeah i totaly agree with u and cooper

i am a big drugger (or atleast was) but i was never drugging so much when my team had won 100% ,i was drugging till the game could change and i lose .so balance a little the 2 sides of the battle we have to do something .sportmanship is something that is hard to happen (HARD) so lowering a little the power of the team which will win 100% will continue the fight till the end without when u lose you say "ok i click pause so get crys or i leave from now" as you cant play there .think that i got a very good combo for my rank and sometimes i join in battles in losing team ,which lose for so much, and using all my drugs to just start a little both sides to play but i cant do anything when the other side is drugging like crazy after the winning team have already been chosen .yeah ok they spend their crystals but they destroy and fun .

to sum up lowering a little the power of the winning team will get an balance in the battle ,and as most times this power is drugs there is the solution ;)

I actually agree with this.  I feel that drugs make a game 1 sided as is and if the game is 5v7 and the 7 are all drugging the 5 just quite because the fight is too unfair.  Please do this!
