They could quite easily have gotten someone else to drop for them (and made sure to keep them out of the screenshot or ask them to leave).

I'm pretty sure it's possible to increase the fund by just one crystal. If that's the case, the record will only reach its limit when a random gold drops at 1 crystal fund. When (if) that happens, the record will be moved to the archive.

No, but you could have 1 fund if you're on a map with many points like Dusseldorf, there is only like one player on the enemy team, and you capture a point.

As previously stated, the record breaker him/herself must apply to claim a record, without them making an application via and alt or their main, they can't claim the record.

I am not eligible to apply for this record as the current record holder has more gold then me but MY point is previous rule regarding applying for this record required screen shot for each and every gold box taken but after this new update screen shot no longer required

Yep, that's true. Also I think we should archive the record that was done with individual screenshots and only use the one from ratings. So none of the golds taken before 2015 fall will be taken into account.
