[Guide] How to use crystals effectively

Earning crystals and buying combos are main idea of Tanki Online. But how should you use crystals well? In this topic I will tell about smart usage of crystals and ways of getting crystals. The biggest mistake on all ranks is to change missions with crystals, so as to avoid rewards with supplies, but most of times players waste more crystals on changing the mission than earning from mission. 2nd is to try collect all m0/m1 or m2 turrets/hulls which afterwards won't be used and crystals will be wasted. Buying drugs might be mistake also, but not for players who own M3s or often compete in drug wars.

 

Buying turrets/hulls.

 

Pick 1-2 hulls and 1-2 turrets which you will use, don't buy try to buy them all. You will regret it later, because these crystals would really help later to get next level of tanks. Since a recent update allows you to pay only for the modification available at your rank, it is better to buy as few m1s and m2s as possible so that you would save as many crystals as can. Choose combo on which you feel most confident and suits you the best.

 

Kits.

 

You can buy kits on a ranks and many will agree, it is best idea. Choose kits wisely. For Gefreiter rank there are 4 kits combined with mostly all turrets/hulls from 400-1000 crystal charge – this is best choice to players who want to try everything out. When you have tried out playing on few combos, you should decide which combination you will use mostly. After ranking up, players want to buy m1s, but they must remember to not buy all of them, but it is better buy the m1 of that tank which you have chosen. Some might disagree with me, but I think that best choice for low rankers is to get Siberian kit with only one m1 hull and m0 turret in their garage, reason is that players will get thundra+freez m2 and hunter m1. Try to not buy hunter, if want Siberian. All other kits are good also, but I prefer Siberian, because it has m2 on so low rank and cheap. After getting first m2 you can keep gaining experience, but still avoid wasting on useless m2s which you won't use. When you have Brigadier rank then start getting M3s 1 by 1. At Major rank you can think about xp/bp battles, this is best if you have bought Medic kit and later on m2 railgun, XP/BP battles are good to gain experience in team battles, so would know how to play in team and that will help in your clan. Choosing maps.

 

Play on maps where your tanks can be used as good as possible. If you are player who use short range turrets then think about medium/small maps like Noise, etc. If long range turrets then all maps will suit you, yes even Duel TDM/DM will suit for long range turrets. On which position to play on map? Well, this is controversial thing. If you see players using light hulls(wasp,hornet,hunter) and you are using supplies, then be my guest and just go attack, because defense won't be needed, if you see heavy hulls, then please stay behind the attacking line and make sure your team wins. Try not to join loosing team unless you think you can cause a takeover, because you will waste time and earn small amount of crystals. From Polygon on RU1 server can get many crystals in short amount of time.

 

Sales

 

Starting with - Each year there are celebrations on New Year, Iron day starts on 23rd February, Valentine’s day, Women’s day, April's Fool’s day, May holidays from 1st,2nd May, Tanki Birthday in June, Tanker’s day in September and Halloween. Note these dates, so would be prepared, because these are days when tanki has sales with opportunity to buy combos,paints and micro-upgrades with lower price, so start saving up now before you forget.

 

Conclusion from my article is that you always have selection on how can you use your crystals smartly or waste them. Shortly my suggestions is not to buy supplies on low ranks, must not buy m0-m2 turrets/hulls which won't be used as main, try to avoid joining losing team and changing missions with crystals, also plan buying combos,paints and micro-upgrades during sales.
