Killcam

Hex

Recommended Posts

The KillCam shows a player's death from the perspective of the killer. It is displayed in the view of first or third person, whichever is the last that the viewer spectated in, the default point of view being first person. The KillCam is useful for identifying how the player was killed, identifying possible hackers, or to locate enemy positions.

This can be effective in two ways:
1. Taking out campers,
2. Supporting your team by warning them where the enemy team is.

You can also skip the replay if you want too. (There will be a button for 'Skip')

So, what do you guys think?

Valid

This is actually a very decent idea - but for games that have huge maps.

Tanki doesn't really have a lot of popularly played huge maps. They're all pretty small. So, what this means, players can already see where a tank is positioned and from where is it shooting. It's an easy thing to do, especially considering how easy it is to sneak into one's base. If you're in the base, you know where the opponents are at.

If there were huge popularly played maps(and I mean multiple maps, not just dusseldorf) in tanki, this idea would be worth working on and developing.

Your next bit of 'how you got shot' is not worth it - the respawn times are pretty quick, so there's no point in viewing a 3 seconds clip played once each and every single time you die. Might be a nuisance.

^ I agree on the respawn. But I forgot to add that you can either watch it or skip it.

Does the addition of 'skipping' the replay change the status to Under Review?

hmmmm....Sounds like a added addition sutiable for the unity Version of tanki (i think i have the name it is refered to right)

Maybe not have this on small maps, but larger ones - and of course ahve it to thhe users ability to disable

In addition to the above, I prefer to see the overhead view of the map as I fly to the respawn, as it lets me plan my next moves. Much more useful than a killcam.

You should maybe have an idea where you press any button to skip the killcam though if you don't want to view it (like pausing), or maybe even have a no killcam option in the settings! I think this is a good idea, please try to stick with it!

I think this is an awesome idea and you can view it by clicking on a part of your screen after you respawn to see the cam. You are not forced to actually watch it but you can choose if you want to see how you got shot... sometimes I don't know how I died.

Maybe it's a idea to put a Final KillCam in  the game I'll explain how.

In TDM the last kill will be the KillCam.

In CTF The last kill too when the battle ends.

In CP The same (Last Kill).

And DM the same too (Last Kill).

It's fun to have because I play other game that have that too and it's maybe fun to see how the Player gets the last kill.

Bringing this back from the archive. After the battle creation system was reworked, most of the maps played in standard battles are now pretty large. I often find myself in situations where I get killed and I have no idea where the shot came from or how the player managed to hit me (especially relevant for Magnum). This is a valid idea.

Okay, this might not be the best name ever but here how it works :

When a tank is destroyed, the camera of the destroyed player should like zoom to the player who killed him.For instance, if I got killed by a railgun that was camping,  my camera should change to the perspective of the player who killed me ( i.e the railgun ).

Most games have this feature like an online mobile game called "stand off".

I'd be pleased to see this feature in the game, Thank you! ;)

I know, I can't describe things well xD

No please, just remake Magnum, this will cause tremendous lag. Maybe 10 years from now with HTML7.

What does Magnum have to do with this?

This would make Tanki even more unstable because you cab basically spy on the enemy base.

You can't spy on the enemy base, the KillCam will only show you getting killed in the eyes of the player that killed you.

Can't you do this currently when you respawn?

Not really. You do get a bit of an overview of the battle, but you can't know from where you got shot if it was a long-distance shot.
