Dramatic Gold

Gold Box Will Be Dropped Soon

It happened, I swear it did.

At the time I was a lowly and humble noob, being skilled in only my railgun M0 with 20/50 MU, and my M0 Vulcan with 2 MU.

My favorite combination being the infamous BP, wasp railgun, I strived to become proficient with it. Hours were spent practicing with that combo. Even though I was a Sergeant- Major.

On July 23, for I will always remember that day, I logged on to my account, and joined EN4. My favorite maps being Polygon, Noise and Rio, I searched rapidly for space on the winning team.

After minutes of vigorous clicking, I was in. A recently started Noise map with packed teams.

The match started as normal, with each player attempting to gain access to the opponent's flag, almost everyone using freeze, firebird or isida.

I started the match with railgun and wasp on the red team, and after two minutes of 3 kills and 9 deaths, I switched to Vulcan and Mammoth, for Mammoth was the only M1 I had.

With three minutes left in the battle, my team was losing 9:8, and the battle fund reached 3,000, it being a 30 minute battle.

My trustworthy friend was equipped with Titan Isida, and was healing me constantly, giving me first place in the battle at the time being and 35 kills and 12 deaths.

Then I saw it.

Gold Box Will Be Dropped Soon

My heart beating a hundred miles per hour, my mind crashing like waves during a storm, I sought this treasure.

And,

Gold Box Will Be Dropped Soon

I screamed in pleasure. I had a chance.

Hours, days, years passed by as I anticipated the parachute. Then I saw it.

Gliding ever beautifully down from the sky, as a gift from the Heavens.

It was ahead of me, so close yet so far.

I clicked the 3 key, and Vulcan rampaged through the crowd.

Mowing down one Contender after another, I was there, over the magic drop zone and I was on the verge of tears as I saw it drop on my M0 Vulcan. Pride swelled in my heart as I caught my ever first gold box.

Enraged and dumbfounded, the others abused me and called me a hacker. And I got burned to death by a jealous firebird. But it did not bother me, for I was too happy to think. My friend repeatedly congratulated me, over and over, but I couldn't speak.

I spawned, and dropped down to the Blue Team base and seeing no defenders, took the flag and pressed the 4 key trying to capture a flag in the final two minutes to tie the score at

9:9. As I rode up the ramp, I nearly had a heart attack. There it was, laying there, like a Christmas gift on Christmas Eve. I rode up to it, and behold, wept.

VitaliyD174267 has taken the Gold Box

VitaliyD174267 has taken enemy flag

VitaliyD174267 has taken the Gold Box

After that day, my noob days were over. I asked many professionals to teach me to master my railgun and to harness its power. Now I play with Pride and Dignity, knowing that I have some luck with Gold Boxes.

My team won that battle, 10:9, and I received 790 crystals for being on the winning team, in first place.

And that day, July 23, will not be forgotten. 2790 crystals, 856 xp, and 30 minutes later, I was as free as a bird, soaring like my wasp. Now I am saving up Mosquito Kit, already sitting on 45 thousand crystals at warrant officer 2, and hope to achieve a dream by purchasing it.

I have also played numerous battles, holding my teammates by creating havoc on defense with my Vulcan and Mammoth, my first ever gold catching combination.

Thank you for reading this entry, for this is my first entry ever.

NamesAreForNoobs' "Dramatic Gold" entry

It was all peaceful driving on Highways one afternoon, but it was about to turn into a traffic jam, one which didn't involve flags. The legendary gold box siren had done it again. I glance behind my base, but teammates headed in the opposite direction tell me it isn't there. I would have to brave the enemy shafts to get this one. Racing from cover to cover I dart around the lower elevations of our territory, in vain finding the spot. I run into a double damage Isida face to face. Once he latches on, I feel doomed, but I evade him with the help of my repair. Frightfully, I creep up the left bridge, hoping to be paid no attention. I sigh in relief as a less fortunate teammate of mine explodes beside me, but I know I have only a few seconds left. I lower my camera angle, spinning my turret fast. Thoughts of hopelessness settle in my head. Where could it be? As the thirty seconds draws closer, I focus all my attention on looking for it. A cheeky railgun notices his opportunity, and cheap shots me off the bridge. I burn with fury, and then explode with shock, as the Notification I took the gold box stays triumphantly atop the screen for a few seconds. A rightful way to conclude a thrilling, very dramatic half minute.

The time:  about a month ago.

The place:  Brest.

The situation:  team death match.

It was the usual Brest game, with Shafts and a Railgun parked on the tops of each base, sniping everyone in sight, especially each other.  I was on the Red team, running around at high speed in my Firebird/Hornet combo, dodging blue targeting lasers and trying to get into the top level of the Blue base so I could do my patented fox-in-the-henhouse act (the Shafts hate me for that one). I was just entering the enemy base's lower level when the gold-box siren went off.  I quickly popped the inevitable double-armor key and reversed course.  I knew the gold would probably not fall inside the enemy base, so I had to find the drop zone out in the open... and fast.  The teams on both sides were big, so there would be plenty of competition at the drop point.  I usually have terrible luck with gold boxes; half the time, I don't even see them fall; but that doesn't stop me from trying.

After about 20 frantic seconds, I found the zone, on one of the long bridges on the side of the map.  I did a quick check all around me; to my amazement, there were no enemies nearby.  But there was a Red teammate who had also found the drop zone, and he had a Viking hull.  When a Hornet gets into a pushing contest with a Viking, the Hornet tends to lose.  My heart fell.  So did the gold box.  My teammate parked himself firmly on the zone as the box floated down, and there was not one thing I could do about it.  I charged him anyway, hoping that my momentum might push him aside, but it was a forlorn hope.

And then... a miracle!

A blue laser suddenly swung in our direction, and my teammate's tank vanished in a brilliant explosion.  He'd been Shafted, barely half a second before the box touched him!  He must have been absolutely furious, to have been robbed like that.  But I wasn't furious, not even a little.  I pounced before the Shaft could reload, and grabbed the box.  It was the first gold box I'd caught in nearly a month, and it made me unspeakably happy.  Then I scooted for cover.

Why scoot for cover?  Because I didn't want to get shot while I typed my encouraging message in the chat window:  "That's the first time I've ever been glad that the other team brought Shafts to the battle."  It was also the last time (so far), but it left me a thousand crystals richer, so I guess I shouldn't complain.

I had time and went up. I beat with many tankers I got 1 shot and I waited for the 2nd strike. Suddenly, I saw the mighty gold droping in the air...on the house. I was upside then many went for it but fell. I wanted to chatch it and I  throw my tank onto it... Behind me a team mate shot me and i flipped awesome into the gold  but some 1 shot me...and I got killed.. I fell sad ad angry but I saw the words in the top of the screen "ChrisandStefanPRO has taken the gold box". I was excited and I continued to play ...

I was warrant officer 1 at that time...

It was halloween. The Gold siren came....

I didn't know where to look because it was a huge map...

Then i started panicking and for some reason i didn't know the fact that the gold would be where many people are so i just looked for it alone

i never saw the gold drop nor did anyone else and there i was driving through a ramp near my base and then i saw something shiny.

it was a golden-orange pumpkin.I thought it was just an obstacle so i drove through, but then i thought WAIT THATS THE NEW GOLD!!!

I came back with full speed and my chest pounding but there was another team mate heading there.

By then everyone had spotted it so they started shooting at each other. I was pretty alone so i didn't get any damage.

i came near the gold with full speed but i saw a mine but by then it was too late. However my instincts kicked and i took the double armour and went through the mine. little did i know that this was going to be my best catch. i backflipped twice and landed on the gold with my hornet and railgun m1.

I didn't know what was i supposed to do after that and didn't move for 10 seconds. I thought i got 1000 crystals! but there was a surprise, i got 3000! I got carried away so much that i stayed in the battle for the next 2 hours hoping for another gold but it didn't drop. I was still very happy. I bought firebird m1 and pretty much got fond of it for a while until i got back to my railgun.

It was the best day of my tanki career. Now I am proud to be a tanker! (P.S. tanki is my fav game , would love to win because its my first contest).

It was a wonderfull day in Silence, common blue crystal boxes falling with eager tankers waiting for them. Everything was as usual, drive around kill tankers capture a few flags and catch 10 crystals on the way. But a big turn of events changed everything....Gold box will be dropped soon!..... everyone pressed the '2' key and tryed desperatly to get a speed boost box. There werent any visible drop zones so there were tanks everywhere hoping it would drop where they were. I was up above the ramp on the left which led to blues base, when i saw it....falling with all magnificence, so close to me!! It was falling at the bottom of the ramp, so without thinking i jumped down...my heart sank... i ended upside down ontop of someone. They were speeding down the ramp in hope of catching it, it hit the floor, every tanker on the map was swarming in. The tanker that had become my chariot was just about to collect the Gold box when as he hit the horizontal surface i started to slip forward, my heart skipped a beat as i continued to slip off the front of them.I landed ontop of it and.....there they were.... the words: monstermaniac has taken the goldbox, they seemed to hang up there for what seemed an eternity.

I had finaly caught a goldbox! and what a way to catch it,sliding upside down ontop of somone.

Thanks for reading, that was my first goldbox ever and i have been waiting ever since to share it with everyone.

hope you all like it,

Monstermaniac.

A Golden Catch By @Achilleus

The Siren sounded. The battle paused, but for only a moment. The chat was brimming with the phrase we all are aware of: "No Kill". The map looked like an anthill, tanks scrambling everywhere. I, equipped with a common combo of Dictator-Twins, raced to where everyone awaited the gold. Shoving and pushing my way through, a faint shadow of a box appeared on the ground before me. It had begun. Twins blazing, I forced my way to the drop zone, only to find an Atlas sitting on top of the crystal painted on the ground. I wasn't going to make it. Or so I had thought. The Atlas had already used his Repair Kit once, and was losing health fast. A shot from a Thunder finished him off. His corpse covered the Gold. Everyone was desperately pushing the destroyed tank. I saw my chance. I lagged onto a Viking-Firebird in front of me, rushing towards the fading corpse. It disappeared. My heart beating, I pressed '4' on my keyboard and zoomed toward the gold. Tanks exploded to the right of me, I drove my Dictator towards where the gold had landed... Achilleus has taken the Gold BoxA surge of excitement pulsed through my body. I had won.

P.S. If clarification is needed, this was in August.

P.P.S. 208 words not including the title.

Dramatic Gold Story

Like how every cliché begins, the blue, cloudless sky was brightly illuminated by the mid-morning sun in an Aleksandrovsk CTF. Only Corporals with machines uncontaminated by metal attachments roamed the beautiful landscape. At the time, I enjoyed spraying ice shrapnel at invincible buildings and thought that the only controls of the game were the arrow keys and the spacebar. My speedy Wasp gave me the minimum time of survival for each of the infinite lives my tank somehow had. The billboards expressed holiday season, or more specifically, May Holidays, 2015, the day that everyone had been anticipating for with extreme excitement when gold crates falling from the sky - also known as "Gold Boxes", worth 9k crystals would be attainable. My friend had introduced me to the game, and he made a new account just to play with me and attempt to teach me the basics. He had also shown considerable enthusiasm over this day. He was one of the more, experienced tankers. We were playing without too much purpose, with my friend dominating the game. Then:

"GOLD!"

Having the latest reactions, I gaped at him as he immediately entered insanity mode. I watched as he frantically pressed 5 and looked for the gold with his Viking, out of all the hulls he could've used.

"What are you staring at? Hurry up and look for the gold!" he screamed at me.

Snapping out of my trance, I remembered when he was lecturing me about perfect gold hunting etiquette. A chill went down my spine as I imagined myself getting the gold, which had become my Tanki career goal since my friend brought the topic up. It gave me a sense of adventure and something more than just crashing into walls and trees and buildings. However, it would be near to impossible for me. I had no speed boosts, double armor, nor repairs. I felt a mixture of anxiety, panic, and exhilaration. I remembered my friend's next words verbatim:

"Golds usually drop after around 25 seconds, with the last 5 seconds for the gold to drop from the sky. The last 5 seconds being when the Tanki gods finally answer our pleas."

His second statement was very questionable, but I went along with the first. My heart beat once each second until it proceeded to beat with even more vigor as the seconds dwindled. No one had apparently found the gold yet.

When the timer hit 30, I was completely aghast. I took my hands off from the keyboard, wondering if my friend had played a trick on me, as I did not see the orange text pop up in my notifications.

But just when I turn around to get furious at my friend, I see as he finds the gold, in a remote corner of the map.

I pleaded and pleaded, with the best puppy eyes I could muster, and my friend grumbled, annoyed that he got suckered into letting me have it.

As he shifted away, and as I finally saw the shiny, smooth edges of the Gold Box, with its intricate pattern and the special design made for the May Holidays, for the very first time, I almost shouted with glee. However, I turned the corner, and I see a Shaft-Wasp, inconspicuously sniping, oblivious to the Gold Box. I slammed the accelerator with my tense fingers and my engines revved, my nimble Wasp hurtled towards my career goal. However, curse my luck, the moment I did so, the Shaft finally let go of his spacebar. He spotted the gold, and he, also frantically turned and charged towards the box Time slows down.

He's closer to the gold.

My heart beats with anxiety.

The distance between my archenemy and the gold is minuscule.

But,

because we are positioned right next to a ramp, and

because he slid onto the ramp carelessly,

I glimpse at his tank

and I see him attempt to curve up and off the ramp.

His tracks

are

blocked.

And like an Olympic runner,

like an ecstatic winner,

I finally come in contact with the gold.

The gold being my medal,

My ribbon,

My finish line.

And yet,

I had only begun the real race.

An account of Lux's encounter with Mr.Goldbox!

0f33fe932653774ed75a657df0e69f43.png

Once upon a time an infamous tanker by the name of Lux embarked on a hunting trip, this was was no ordinary trip for he was no ordinary hunter, Lux was hunting for the very rare and elusive Mister Goldbox. Mister Goldbox is so rare and respected in fact; that people sometimes called him, Sire Goldbox!

I humbly asked Lux to tell me the tale of his particular trip. At first, he was very reluctant; saying that such a tale must never be told merely to one person, rather it should be told to many at a time; if at all.

Now I became so desperate to hear his tale that I promised I would have it printed in the world renowned Tanki Online Newspaper for all of humanity to read. After making me take an oath that I would fulfill my promise however long it took me; he agreed to tell his tale. I will now read it to you just as he told me for it is truly breathtaking:

_____________________________________________________________________________________________________________

''Since I was a child I wanted to hunt for the legendary Goldbox, I forcefully restrained myself from doing so; for I knew I didn't have enough experience in the matter, moreover, I had a modification zero hunting machine, this I knew just wasn't up to the job, for other hunters had as good as modification two machines, against theirs; mine would be instantly destroyed. After many long years of earning my fortune in fierce foreboding battles, an opportunity presented itself like no other. I finally had my dream modification two hunting machine!

After a little practice with other hunters like myself using the common repair kit, I embarked on my trip. I hiked to the rumoured; best place to find Goldbox, Russian one. I entered a promising looking battle and started frantically playing; lest Goldbox's arrival be quickened. My guess was well founded, for not five minutes into the battle, Mr.Goldbox sent his message, it read 'Goldbox will be dropping soon', that message, well... it triggered a shock through the battlefield, for every hunter was nervously wishing for its arrival. I discovered Goldbox's own sign a few seconds later, immediately many other hunters surrounded me, I knew that I would have an excellent chance of catching Goldbox if I was to climb atop another hunter, somehow I managed to do just that, I turned slightly, surprise... a Viking was battling for my position, he managed to climb alongside me, he jousted me trying to hurl me into the cruel void, I wasn't having any of his cheek, I pushed back; though somehow he managed to push me until half my tank was leaning into the void, I fired to save myself, it worked recoiling my tank back towards the Viking, then... I found my dream accomplished. Goldbox sent another message, it now read 'lux has taken the Goldbox'. My childhood dream realised, I had caught Mr.Goldbox himself!''

THE END.

____________________________________________________________________________

Some explanation:
Lux refers to me aka: electrolux1
My hunting machine is Dictator
The times are exaggerated, words like childhood etc are there for storytelling.
'Russian one' is RU1

I am both, the storyteller and catcher.
The map is Noise and the dropzone is at the top of the ramp HERE
488 Words
This is based on a real catch.

BTW: I was the first to post in this topic and my post got 19 likes! B)
I will be grateful if you spot any mistakes, grammar or otherwise, I'm sure there are some however many times I check.

Dramatic gold

In rio

One morning, it was a very lazy morning. I waked up and straight away i turned my PC on... I was still in sleeps... I joined EN3 and got into list of battle firstly i saw polygon but all of them was full and the ones that were available was very high rank.. I was like a rat in middle of some elefents

So i decided to look for some other map. I scrolled down and clicked on rio. Suddenly my dog came and he jumped on my and somehow i clicked to join the battle

I didn't expected that. But the battle seems to good for me so instef of leaving i continued playing. I was playing with firebird m1. But i couldn't play well with it. Then i saw in the chat one person wrote that firebird m1 is playing like noobs he is sach a high rank than me still im play 100 times better than him.. So i decided you know what let me get my rail m2 and show them what I'm. I changed and within 10 min i reached on top in the table. And that player stated blocking me like shooting on me with his hummer on me whenever i cross

2 min were left and the score was 4-4. I was in the blue team. Then came the devil "GOLD BOX WILL BE DROPPED SOON"

So i decided that lets leave the gold and capture the flag so that we could win i took the uper route and got into the red base and took the flag. The movement i turned i saw the gold dropping. It was on the side of the uper route (on the right side from red team). So i took speed drug to make thr capture fast. So i again took the upper route that hummer person saw me. Just the movement i was about to jump (1 cm before) in panic i streched the keyboard and it got disconnected when i was in air and that hummer person shooted on me (i was like what the hell). I got flipping towards the gold and just before lending i touch the gold and got it

Tgen i quality reconnected the keyboard and took a repair kiy and capted the flag

So we won and i got the gold too

I have explained in yhe best possible way hope you like it

Thank u

FIRST EVER DRAMATIC GOLD BOX AT RIO MAP

It was an afternoon,I went to play Tanki Online and found a Rio battle and I joined the battle. As soon as I joined the battle I was busy in attacking other players and other players were attacking me. Then suddenly I heard the siren sound and I saw the words GOLD BOX WILL BE DROPPED SOON. I started to drug. My heart started beating faster and faster. My hands started shivering. Then I was going through the beach side of the Rio map, luckily there was no tanks there at that place and gold box dropped with 3000 crystals. It was some special day so it came with 3000 crystals. At that time a ricochet m1 was trying to catch the gold box, but with my hull wasp I went fast and caught the gold box, this was the first ever gold box I caught. This is the story of my first ever dramatic gold box.

Dramatic Gold in spoiler below:

This is a narrative of our lovable tanker basenji7 and a gold box. It begins in...

...A Stadium TDM, a few weeks ago…

“It was fun at first, destroying the seemingly indestructible M0 Shaft/Mammoths and tossing around the Wasps with the constant pounding of my Twins bullets, but now it’s getting dull and I’m longing for a challenge. The other team is hopelessly incompetent, and my team isn’t much better. I glance at the clock. There’s still ten minutes left of the thirty minute battle. Loathe as I am to leave behind my undoubtedly large share of the two thousand crystal fund, I’m about to click the red X to find a more interesting battle when suddenly, the golden words appear at the top of my screen - Gold box will be dropped soon.

“I’m focused now, on one thing, on finding the drop zone, on getting the oh-so-coveted gold box. It’s rare that I see a gold box notification, let alone in a battle where I have any chance of getting the gold, and I’m filled with the thrill and rush of a gold chase. I pick up a nearby Speed Boost, and prepare to look throughout the entire map. I’m lucky, though, and I find the spot right by me, near the enemy spawning area.

“None of the other tanks seem to have noticed the drop zone, and as most of them are Mammoths, it’ll be a while before any of them find it. I raise my camera angle, and then I see it dropping down lazily, almost mocking with its slow speed. Tanks come in from all sides, desperate to add the thousand crystals to their wallet. I can hardly control my Twins/Hunter anymore, jostled by the surrounding tanks, and I can only hope and pray. My Hunter is hardly optimal, especially seeing the Dictator beside me. I’m panicking - the gold box is slipping out of my reach.

“At that moment my prayers are answered and I’m lifted up, a combination, perhaps, of the impact force of my Twins and a Hammer, and of the pressure on my hull from the other tanks. At that moment, I really don’t care about anything anymore, just the gold box. I need to get that gold box. It’s still chaos, bullets everywhere, red and blue lasers hovering on the pile of tanks.

“I’m squarely below the gold box, and I struggle to keep my position. And then the gold box hits my hull - basenji7 has taken the gold box - and I’m flooded with elation, joy, excitement. The angels sing from above. It is only then that I realize how fast and loudly my heart is beating against my chest, and how sweaty the palms of my hands have become. It happens every time, the shiver of anticipation, the adrenaline rush, but this time, I’ve actually managed to catch it. I bask in the glory of catching the gold box for another moment, and then it’s back to the task at hand - destroying tanks.”

And here the account ends.

My first gold:

Once again, we have a story of a gold catch by our protagonist basenji7. It’s the first, in fact, and nowhere near as exciting as the one outlined previously. But here we go to...

...An Aleksandrovsk CTF, New Years 2015...

“This is perhaps my second day with the game, and I’m Twins/Hunter struggling to stay alive. I’m not quite sure what the objective of this is, but I’m happy just to be driving around and destroying other things - that, I can do. I don’t know, exactly, what the ‘battlefund’ is or does, but when a game ends I receive crystals - I know that’s good, at least - and the battlefund returns to zero.

“I’m happily driving along, looking for someone to pummel to death, when the then-foreign words light up the computer screen: Gold box will be dropped soon. I don’t know what that means, and after puzzling over it I simply ignore it. Half a minute later, I still can’t find anyone (unbeknownst to me, the enemy team was practically empty), and I’m approaching the bridge. And then I see it - a foreign substance. It looks like one of those boxes which seem to make me do better, except shinier, and I eagerly drive over it. To my surprise, it seems to have added 2015 crystals to my wallet. I see the words basenji7 has taken the gold box. I’m elated - I have so many crystals now! I might even be able to get that ‘isida’ or maybe even ‘ricochet’! I want more gold boxes, and immediately begin looking around for more. I see an enemy then, however, and I’m distracted by that and soon I forget about the gold box, and begin to destroy the other tanks once again.”

Ah, the first gold - always an important milestone.

A Dramatic Gold Box Story:

This happened last month when i was First Lieutenant.

I was playing in a normal Polygon CP battle, I joined the red team so much were using m1's fire's, we was losing 24- 52. Then when I started playing, I played a lot and drugged a bit too and my friend who was there drugged so much that caused our leading 74- 62. Then suddenly a Orange color text and a siren came showing "Gold Box will be dropped soon"Then suddenly my heartbeat increased rapidly..... I Immediately then used double armor and then speed boost. Oh Noo!!!! The Gold box zone near the CP and I was already equipped in Viking+ Twins, But...But all are killing me ahhh, I have less than half health Then I used a repair kit, I also started killing others equipping Double Damage. Noooo.... A Hammer flipped me and i was above a tanker. Seconds after the gold box containing 1000 crystals started dropping. Then Suddenly, A miracle happened Wohooo The tanker that I was on it, pushed me too the gold box and again a orange color text came that " Here.Comes.The.Money has taken the Gold Box" I was so happy and the battle ended with we winning the match and I was second in my team. This is my Dramatic Gold Box Story.

The End.

Dramatic Take Of A Gold Box

P.S. Green represents what I was thinking and that moment.

It was a lousy rainy afternoon. I was alone at home. Mum and dad were off to work I was playing tanki and chilling. I was playing in a traditional 1-hour polygon cp using my osaka kit. I had to get some milk to warm me up, I got some milk and was heading back to my laptop. I resumed that Polygon cp. And the first thing that I see in the chat is "Ignore the gold box". I'm like, "OMG what a gold really?". I look up to see a slightly faded away Gold Box Will Be Dropped Soon. My heart beat shoots. My head starts shaking. "What?!!? Where?? Where!!! Am i too late??? Is someone gonna take it?? It's been a long time since i've played have i lost my gold hunting skills???? this is the first time in months i've seen a gold maybe i should ignore it!!".

I respawn in this terrible spot:

I immediately activate a nitro. I start looking for the drop zone with shaky hands. My hands were shaking, my heartbeat was off the charts. I find the drop zone here:

I then try to get on top of the ramp but unfortunately it was already occupied with a bunch of tanks. But I still tried to get on top of a Dictator-Hammer on the ramp because I was really panicking and I was losing my damn mind. All of a sudden, the hammer shoots me, I land right on top of the drop zone, but flipped on my side. "Noob no! noob hammer no why you do dis!!! kill yourself go drink some bleach omg noooo go kill yourself noo no now i wont get it noo.". I had lost all hope. I expected to see myself to be under the rush of tanks jumping from the ramps. But nay! That does not happen. What truly happens is a miracle, a god sent angel dictator-freeze appears next to me. I started to be like a barrier for the tanks jumping from the ramps due to the support of the Dictator sitting beside me! I wasn't seeing anyone come above me! I was blocking everybody! It was incredible. I was flipped on my side right on top of the drop zone. "Is the dictator gonna get it??"Omg nooo i want it come on hunter." .I could barely see anything happened as my fps dropped to a 1 digit number. Freezes sucking, hammers flipping, firebirds burning, isidas zapping, any of it did not matter to me at that time. I could see my health fading away fast. Then, I feel Glimmer of Hope that I can get it and my hunter was high enough! Believing in that hope, I press 1 and repair myself. And contrary to all my beginning expectations, I see the glorious letters.

X_Death.By.Me_X has taken the Gold Box.

~500 words...

I couldn't get the screenshot because I was extremely overwhelmed at that moment. Wish me luck guys <3

In my Tanki Online career I have faced many ups and downs, many amazing and dreadful moments. Among them is one of my gold catches. About a year ago when I was in the rank of Sergeant-Major, one fine day when my summer holidays were still a couple of weeks to get over, I sat at my computer and logged into Tanki and started playing. I equipped viking m0 and firebird m1 and I was in a great need of crystals as I was running low on them. Moreover I wanted to buy the Hammer turret which costed 1000 crystals. In order to get both crystals and experience, I joined a 1 hour Deathmatch I wished if I could get a gold box too if the battle fund rose to 700. After playing at a brisk rate of 1.55 or so the battle fund rose to 700 soon I was second at the leaderboard. We were all tensed that when will the words appear....Gold box will be dropped soon We all awaited for that beautiful yet tensed moment.

And yes! after a while on reaching 730 it appeared. Now I was dreadfully tensed and full of adrenaline. So, I quickly equipped Wasp m0 and did not change my turret so that i could be fast enough because I was playing in Kungur map which is pretty vast to search for the gold box location. After searching a while luckily i found the location and quickly while my chest tightened up.. I killed another puny wasp which was already waiting and as it was about to touch its hull ............BOOM! the tank was destroyed.  After a moment of pin-drop silence The word in orange appeared----- prithvi372 has taken the gold box ........I was so happy that I almost jumped on my chair. TRULY! it was one the best moments in my Tanki career.

Map: Monte Carlo

Turret/Hull Combo: Shaft/Viking

Location: Protecting team flag/Sniping poor fools who dared spawn on the other side of the map

I leaned over my keyboard, twisting my turret a fraction of an inch to the right and eradicating yet another tank from the map. A small sense of satisfaction rising, I retreated to reload, checking the rankings. First place by a hundred, I thought contentedly. This game is in the - GOLD BOX WILL DROP SOON!

Though the audio was muted, there was no mistaking the words that cheerily popped up on the top of my screen as if unaware of the absolute chaos they would cause. For a moment, I completely forgot how to play Tanki, struggling to deal with the fact that I had a chance to get an extra thousand crystals. I shrugged off my inertia, quickly pounded the four key with a fury that would have scared a slightly psychotic silverback gorilla and abandoned the team flag.

As I approached the middle of the map, I cycled through different camera angles for a chance to glimpse that sweet sight: the drop zone. Firing off potshots at other tankers who dared think for a moment that they had any right at all to MY gold box, I put on double armor and finally made it to middle ground. I became more and more frantic as I turned around and around and couldn’t find the drop zone. With a growing sense of despair, I was certain that the it was on the enemy’s side of the map. Being a heavier hull, I would never get there in time. As tears slid down my cheeks, I happened to glance to my left.

Floating gently down from the heavens to the top of one of those confounded columns rising up from the bottom of the map were all of my hopes and dreams contained in one small, virtual box. Gripping the keyboard with renewed strength, I turned and made my slow way to the edge of the map.

Of course, I wasn’t the only one. An enemy Hornet/Isida combo was on my left and we both turned to look at the falling gold box. He was faster than I was, so I had to improvise. He went over the edge first, angled slightly toward the right and the gold box. I had a different target entirely. Aiming my treads at him, I managed to knock him out of the way. The shock sent me directly into the path of the still-falling gold box. I waited with bated breath, time slowing down to an eternity every second. Then, those magical words appeared on the screen: ‘Stephun has taken the gold box’.

Handel’s Messiah started playing somewhere. I threw myself back in my chair, gave a mighty fist pull and yelled an inarticulate sound of pure joy. I allowed myself the ten seconds it took for my tank to self-destruct for celebration. But then, I re-spawned and saw that my place in first was being encroached upon. Cracking my knuckles, I got back to my keyboard. Even after all the excitement of catching the gold box, there was still work to be done.

       Tanki to be played.

This story is based off of an actual event; however, the contents are highly dramatized and not to be taken seriously.
Word Count: 537

P.S. If you're the guy I pushed to get the gold, I'm still not sorry. : )

Polygon CP, you know the place.  A high stakes realm of winner take all.  A merciless battlefield of tanks scrambling and crashing, Thunders booming, the constant pounding of Smoky's incessant shells, the distant eerie hiss of Firebird pouncing upon its prey, punctuated by Railgun's dreaded wind-up and release.

It was here, in the midst of the most intense carnage Tanki Online has to offer, that I took my most remembered Gold.  The siren wailed and my blood froze.  I was on a FireWasp alt and knew I had no chance to take it.  Racing out of hiding I evaded feverish enemies all searching for that magic symbol.  Fortune favored me as these murderous enemies chose also to seek the elusive drop zone, rather than opt to kill me.

Precious seconds slipped by as I searched in vain.  Circling the map almost back to where I had been when the siren sounded, I found the drop zone between the two large buildings near the Repair Kit supply drop.  But it’s not the yellow crystal symbol which told me my search was over, for I found the point occupied by a dog pile of no less than fifteen tanks.  You know the ones – Titans, Vikings, Dictators, and a few Hornets, all sporting that abominable shield.  The mound was a writhing mass of fire, ice, lightning, and explosions.  Give up?  No!  Popping double damage, I start roasting.

The Gold falls.

I run out of ammo.

The dead tanks clear.

The Gold sits untouched.
