[Declined] Clean Karma after name change.

Recommended Posts

I do understand why and how people get banned forever from chat. And to me the people that have gotten a ban worth 6 Months or Forever is a really big deal. 1 Month is kind of serious and a very frightening thing to hear. But the thing that kept me from becoming a mod was a week ban from when I was a Sargent Major and really didn't care.

My parents always say that video games are just like drugs when you get addicted. Usually the reason for tankers to change there in game account nickname is for a fresh start and should be treated as such. And if drugs usually require rehab to become clean from them, why can't changing your name be like a tankers rehab.

Most admin probably understand what I am attempting to get through but then also put into consideration of how many tankers get banned for fraud of fishing or hostility of grounds. In my case I have had repeatable offences of insults profanity for dumb reason's like altering someone's name for making it say ***blaster13. So what I am about to say won't affect me at all.

"Clean Karma" is a theory of not going against any rules for a year to even 2 depending on how dirty your karma was. But if one was  little rank like a Warrant Officer 5 and had many offences and is now a Generalissimo. That person applies for a job as a chat mod and really believes that he has proven that he can act like a formal and respectful tanker. If he was a Warrant Officer 5 just 8 months ago he has proven that he has very truly fell in love with this game and would not like to be reminded of his not so "Clean Karma", thus he changes his name to have a clean and fresh start. Or so he thought!!

How one speaks in the heat of the moment has nothing to do with how they act without the trolls that make you mad then take a screenshot when you say something offensive in return. That noob clearly has no life so he feels like messing with and ruining a tankers hopeful dream of becoming a chat moderator as a funny thing.

Please take this into consideration, everyone has been given the freedom of speech and if you feel that changing your nickname is the same as creating a fresh start for yourself and something that you did as a low rank shouldn't affect you as a high ranker.

Up vote if you agree with me and my statistics of opinion.

Sorry, but this will never happen. If players' karma would clear after every name change, then any violator, who could have been swearing non-stop and getting month bans one after another, would simply be able to pay 100k and become a mod on the next day! Karma is one of the most important qualities of a player's record, so it's essential that administrators see the whole history of a player's violations.

Your case is rather strange. If you really did get only one ban many month ago, then perhaps it wasn't just the ban, but also other reasons, which prevented you from being accepted. The administrator simply listed karma as the main reason, whereas perhaps you would have been accepted if you had stringer points in other parts if your application. I, myself, got accepted to the forum mod team only 3 months after getting a day ban on the forum itself, so there are definitely exceptions when it comes to having a clean karma.

But then again, to get a week ban you probably said something rather nasty in chat, so the decision to reject your application may have been justified, since less than a year ago you didn't care about the rules. So yeah, the applicant requirements have to be strict in order to make sure that the moderation team consists of only the most trustworthy and responsible individuals, otherwise the admins risk getting a lot more complaints from players.

Karma (ban history) is not the only nor the most important requirement for staff positions. But as Mafioso said, Administration should be aware of player's record. We had situations in the past where players tried to apply with alternative accounts that has clean ban history but such attempts were always thwarted. So yeah... I disagree with the idea.

i understand what your trying to say and i have to agree with both mod and admin on this..

even with a player  like me i had 2 banns in chat on one account but on another i have 3 warnings in forum .. but all my other  6 accounts are clean will this get me a job ...not on my clean accounts.. the karma is in place for good reason

.. basically you can't have a player who has a bad karma in  the past become one for he or she might provoke others into getting banned

( these are players who are really bad karma I'm referring too not the minor ones )

this would not be fair for anyone..
