Rank Number Eight To Use Chat?

Why did they do this, i know some peole can act like children in game chat, but restricting the game chat to people under level eight is too much, please reverse this, this restricts game chat, i have seven accounts, only two of them have are over that rank, if people kicked from game chat too much, THEN you should keep them from chatting until level eight, but you also should make there be 1 moderator in each chat, to get rid of online daters/spammers, i just want to be ble to chat to people without getting restricted, anyone at any rank can be a fool, please put back th old system back, because i have a feeling that they may make the rank even higher until they make it for only people who have beat the game will be the only ones to be able to use the chat

i have seven accounts, i only play once a week, so tell me, how easy is it when you can only play once a week and you have 4 accounts you need to rank up? and its still dumb that they even did this, how many accounts do you have?

The starters usually spam in EN 1 to 4 and make other accounts if they get banned. So, the devs decieded to make the unlocking chat rank higher. The players who can use chat are those who play very hard.

well, i barely EVER see moderators in servers 6-11, they dont eed to make chat more resticted, they need to get more chat mods

Why do you have so many accounts? Just play on a few of them. And if you are experienced, it only takes 30 mins per account to get past that rank, maybe less.

 

And in those ranks, there is yellow writing on the chat which gives very useful tips and tricks for early ranks who do not know. These are a lot more important than just being able to chat.

so that i can use multiple turrents without having to spend alot of crystals, im not going to buy and upgrade 7 turrents at once, and i am not spending a penny on this game, because its not nessasary, its not like i have 3 accounts with one turrent, my accounts have the turrents, firebird, smokey, freeze, isida, twins, thunder, and railgun

okay, its one thing to get rid of public chat, buit its quite another to get rid of it in-game, i have NEVER seen a person spamming in game, honestly, i dont really care about he public not-in-game chat, everyone there is just telling each other that they are better than everyone else

you still didnt answer my question, how many accounts do you have? its not so easy ranking up 4 accounts to the 8th rank, im close with about 2 of them, but the oher 2 arent close at all

and tellurium, the point of this post isnt "its easy to rank up," its that they not only took away the chat for the server out-of-game chat, they got rid of it for in-game chat as well, and spam wasnt a problem in-battle, only in server chat

Tanki has changed the rank restrictions, because many players that get banned create a new account just to keep on breaking the rules, many hackers use lower accounts when posting phishing sites or luring people into giving them crystals or accounts. We want to avoid these issues as much as possible.
I understand that for many players it's annoying that they can't use the chat yet. However, don't forget that alot of the newbies have so many new things to learn and so many new things to look out for that they won't even think of using the chat yet and just focus on learning how to play. If they're serious about playing, they will rank up soon enough. The 8th rank is still a rank that can be easily reached.
I agree the battle chat is entirely different from the server chat, but I'm not sure if they can make the rank limit for those chats different.

I have 3 accounts, pretty easy to rank up past the 8th rank. WO gets quite a bit harder.

 

But still, why would you need to test all of the turrets/hulls, or at least 7 of them? I understand testing out kits, but after playing with one account, you should know which is your favourite, and which are good. If not there are youtube videos and you can also ask people. My advice would be to play on a few of the accounts which have combos you really like, and play with. Playing with 7 accounts is pretty boring and long. And your question has been answered. 

 

Hackers will be able to use the chat, even the in game one, to get people's passwords and at that low rank, they would not know better.

 

The issue of not enough moderators in chat has been raised up a lot. As said by mods, they can't just accept anybody. These moderators must be good at their job, and can't abuse their power. There are many requirements for becoming a moderator and many people are just not up to the job. There are not enough people, and Tanki must make sure the mods are good and will not abuse their power. Better a few good mods than many bad mods.

I agree that limiting the chat to the 8th rank and above is a bit harsh, but it's a sacrifice Tanki has to make in order to improve the game for the rest of the players. Increasing this limit makes it a LOT more difficult to just make a new account to break rules and it also makes it harder for scammers to post links to their malicious websites and steal more accounts, since gullible low ranks won't be seeing the chat until they are "older". So overall, this update will benefit Tanki.

mafioso, id agree about the public server chat, most people who use that chat are just screaming at each other....but they took it away from in-battle chat when there was never a problem in that chat, ive never seen anyone spam or scam in battle

Why can't you quote? Is that button missing? If so, just use multiquote, same thing.

 

If you really want to play with 7, that badly, you will just have to survive without chatting. What's the big deal? Chatting really is not that important. Rank up with each as fast as you can to the Gefreiter, then you can chat. If you need to chat for whatever reason, switch accounts to chat with your higher account/s.

I have over 150 accounts now....a large majority over the new minimum chat rank from Gissimo to MSgt.   :P

 

Tanki's overlords have done this because they believe it will decrease the number of people who cause trouble in chat. In theory, it seems reasonable....if you can't chat you can't cause trouble verbally. And if it takes several ranks to chat many newer players will not make the investment of time to achieve the rank just to cause trouble verbally.

 

Unfortunately, it's bandaid solution that is only minimally effective for two reasons:

1. Trolling can be effectively accomplished without chat. Trolling includes such behaviors as blocking, flipping and generally annoying other players. And trolling can be doubly frustrating for new players who cannot voice their disapproval when they are victims of trolling. These relatively new players will probably never make the effort required to reach MSgt and simply choose to leave the game never to return. Tanki's new rule may, in fact, cause a sharp decrease in the number of new players who achieve MSgt and higher.
   
2. Accomplished players who have already attained the highest ranks, and who likely have multiple high rank accounts as I do (two Gissimo and a Field Marshall soon to be my 3rd Gissimo), can achieve MSgt in a handful of hours. I hate to say it, but the highest ranks among us also appear to be the worst trolls. Many create new accounts to troll new players who lack the skills to defend themselves from trolling. Such pros posing as new players will simply non-verbally troll others until they reach the required rank, then they'll begin the verbal abuse.
   

While I do not think it's a large percentage of players, it's apparently a significant enough problem that Tanki has increased the chat requirement by 5 ranks.  Frankly, it'll only stop/deter new players.  For experienced players....it's little more than a temporary inconvenience.
