I propose a simple SMS style messaging system be implemented that allows tankers to message 120 character messages to friends anywhere in game. 
By typing the command SMS@ENTERNAMEHERE" the message will be sent while in game without ever leaving the active game. Or the same message on any public tanki chat room.
The message will briefly pop-up in the upper right corner of the screen in a well contrasting box for a user-selected period of time "2, 5, 10 seconds." The message will further be in a menu at the top of the screen that is solely for reviewing previous messages, and changing personal IM settings such as, coloring, font, delete previous message with selected box's, etc.... 
The IM system messages will be saved for moderator use for 30 days before being deleted from the "mod safe."
This would allow for private communication, as well as questions and answers to be transmitted anywhere on site.
Storage space will be minimal since there are sooooo many tankers that use the game, so I Propose 100 messages to be automatically saved. These messages only able to be seen by the two end users and any moderator if cause for alarm is found and chat history needs to be analyzed for some reason. 
Another good command could be @ADMIN, which would alert any and all admins online at that time that help is needed at a given point on the system. 
The popup will have a button that will pause their current game "if in one" and bring them directly to where the current issue is. 
There may be another button selection for instant respond, which would allow the mod to message the person individually instantaneously.
