not so often.

 

I spoke to Hazel when we changed the I&S section in May and he said that this change doesn't really affect the extent to which developers pay attention to ideas. Because they always cared about ideas a lot and they still do. I don't know how often they read the I&S topics, but from what I understand they do visit the section and they collect player feedback.

 

Now, literally yesterday we started doing weekly reports for the I&S section to get the best ideas "higher up" for developers to see, and your idea was first on the list  :)

But as always - don't expect any real progress to be made anytime soon - due to the amount of developers' own plans, player ideas take many years to go from being posted to being added to the game.

Maf told me this when I asked that :)

but one question,lets say i want to play in this game mode and i dont have some hulls/turrents.

 

then what happens lol

It should automatically be set the highest purchasable mod (excluding kits) availible at the lowest rank. So if it was major-generalissmo it wouldn't be your M2 equipment, it would just be given to you.

Really interesting mode and one which i would certainly like to try.

 

I have just one question for now (maybe I am not fully understanding).

 

So the battle fund is distributed by number of kills but this means that the top 'ranked' player (ie the one who has reached Mammoth Shaft) maybe well not be the one with the highest number of kills.

If i have say 20 kills and then demote a rank to a hull/turret that i prefer i can then get another (x) number of kills to get back to where i was before and then demote again.

 

Please explain if i am getting this wrong?

 

Maybe the fund would distribute by firstly the rank you have reached and then secondly the number of kills although that may still not necessarily be to the person who has performed the best .  Maybe rank first and then (total kills - total deaths) to give a + or - total?

I don't think the fund distribution will be based on kills. It should be based primarily of the players' stage in the "evolution" and only then by kills. So if there is one player at a later stage than another, but the other player has more kills, the first player will still get more crystals. In fact, it should simply be a rating system where each place gets a certain % of the fund, and the places are determined by evolution stage and then by kills (in case two or more players are at the same stage).

awesome idea

 

tho i think the ranking syatem in this game mode should be based on score not the number of kills or evolution. Same as CTF mode, capturing a flag gives you more score then killing a player so same could be worked out in this game mode for example :

 

killing someone will give you 10 points and evolving to nest turret/hull will give you say 20 points (increases as per as evolution level) and these points will be added in your score and after the game ends the crystals will be divided on the basis of score.

Nope, the developers can optimize everything. As I said, the hull and turret would change quietly and quickly, so there will be no errors or something (provided that the developers don't want another Tankopocolypse). It will be like changing equipment again and again.

No, you have to get a kill with that turret to advance to the next one.

 

What if they don't have a specific combo which the mode will require? :ph34r:

One of the "thinking" matters of this mode. Maybe it will require you to have all the turrets or you'd have to pay a little fee for not having a certain turret/hull. If you don't have a turret/hull, one of the straights is that you would have to make two kills with the previous turret to advance to the next, where in between, you don't have the turret/hull.

 

For example, if I don't have Freeze, I begin with Wasp-Firebird and need to get two kills to get to the next one, Wasp-Isida (skipping Freeze)

 

This is a hyper great idea

Noice, but i guess you are putting some combos above some, for example, titan + fire and titan+ freeze are better than mammoth+ fire or mammoth + freeze. And what if thats a big map? I guess someone has to choose the evolution combos, for example if its lost temple , then everyone would start with fire, then isida , then ricochet (mid range) then twins ( mid range) and then finally the most powerful turrets in that map, long ranged turrets. I guess 1 kill is too less for evolution, at least 10 kills. This would be possible only in a tourney mode though

^ The turrets and hulls have been put in from the lowest-range to highest-range, and lowest-health to highest-health. Also, there are 77+8+8 combinations now, which will require 93 kills to get to Mammoth-Shaft. So 1 kill = 1 advancement.

Oh so i guess there should be only some advancements after some kills which could be set differently in different battles
