Performance problem - appears yesterday

Hi Tankers,

I play on same notebook (Lenovo T420, i52520M, SSD, integrated VGA and Win 10) without any changes in the last few years. I know it isn't a gamer config but it's worked with 30-40 fps and 150-200 ping in case of moderated performance settings - in the Performance section of the Settings dialog the following options are checked only:

- Show FPS and Ping

- Show chat

- Mip-mapping

- Show drop-zones

From yesterday (2016-06-27) the FPS decreased drastically to between 10 and 20 so I'm not able to play.

- I've checked the task manager, system processes, etc. but everything seems normally (processor is not used, and I've free memory).

- I tried to update flash player plugin to the latest (22.0.192)

- I tried more different browsers (FF, Opera and Chrome)

Do you have any idea what was happened 1-2 days ago? What was went wrong? What can I do? (I have no chance to change my laptop now)

Thanks,

Istvan

Uncheck Mip mapping

No real change. :-(

The lagging already exists: the FPS flounce between 10 and 30, the screen is frees for moments especially on busy maps and during turning turrets.

Hi!

Read this http://en.tankiwiki.com/Low_FPS

Already read. As I wrote in the starting post this config without any software or hardware change was worked for me before 2 days ago. Something happened 2 days ago (flash update, modification in the game engine or anything else).

I'll try standalone flash player.

Ok. I think I know what happened: The Flash Player v22 released on June 16, 2016 (https://helpx.adobe.com/flash-player/release-note/fp_22_air_22_release_notes.html). FF automatically updated the plugin yesterday so I think the cause is the new version of flash.

See if you can manually reverse the Flash Player update to set it back to an earlier version and check whether the problem has been solved.

On a side note, thank you for the really detailed description in your original post. It makes it easier to determine what the problem is.

I downgraded to v21 in Firefox and tried standalone player (from the official TO link - it's v20). The experience is a little bit better (I can play now the screen freeze less often) but the FPS still low so the aim is not too easy.

I don't understand he situation. Before I uninstalled FlashPlayer plugin (help of official adobe uninstaller) I've check the date of the latest plugin update in Firefox and it was 27 of June and I was happy to find the cause. But the problem is not solved with installation of earlier version of FP plugin.

Otherwise I'm sorry, my English isn't very good - I hope you are understand what I'd like to say :-).

Hi, may I know the Graphics Card you are using and the processes which usually run while you are playing the game?

Clearing your cache usually helps to increase your FPS, it's worth a try.

Read how to do it in the following guides:

http://help.tankionline.com/topics/2360-how-to-clear-my-flash-player-cache/

http://help.tankionline.com/topics/2329-how-to-clear-your-browsers-cache/

Note that the game will take a while to load, the first time after clearing your cache.

Please tell us what graphics card you are using. Since frames per second, graphics, graphics quality and pixel position of elements on the screen depend entirely on your graphics card (GPU), problems regarding these things usually are caused by problems in the GPU.

This happened to me once, all I did was dissemble and reassemble the GPU ( I have a PC ). IT is likely that your GPU has crashed.

See this article. It clearly explains everything related to low frame rate ;)

Tanki version.
