Two Belgians have already been eliminated. Our hockey team has won their first game against the UK. Our gymnast, and one of my friends, Dennis Goossens performed greatly at the still rings. I'm now hoping that manages to jump into the top 8 on this apparatus to perform in the finales later.

WHHHHHHAAAAAAAATTTTTTTTTT?!

The Aussie women were beating the Germans 2-1 and the Germans scored in the last few minutes. Now we're in the 90th minute.

My friend managed to get into the finales of the apparatus still rings. Admire his incredible performance.

A miracle happened to one of our female Belgian tennis players. Kirsten Flipkens managed to eliminate Venus Williams.

Belgium has won its first golden medal thanks to Greg Van Avermaet, one of our cyclists.

Right after USA, SSSR and Yugoslavia (Serbia is successor) :D

Ye, USA is better than us, but not СССР ( which collapsed in 1991 ;) ) and Yugoslavia...

I thought more about medals and titles, which will remain forever in the trophy room. Olympic Games, FIBA World Cup, FIBA EuroBasket.

And not some current standings list - that changes every month ;)

Maybe cause China just aren't as good at the US? I mean, give the same population and funds to every country in the world. Then you'll see

So if I say the US is better, then according to you i'm being racist. Then when you say the reason the US wins is cause we have a lot of people and more money. I point out China has way more people and invest more in their olympic training programs, so you say the US is just better. You make no sense.

Well as a kiwi, I am rooting for the New Zealand Olympics team. We won't win overall, but we will definitely win a few golds and come out with a decent medal per capita ranking

Some of our strongest athletes to look out for

  • Valerie Adams - Shotput
  • Lydia Ko - Golf
  • Lisa Carrington - Canoe Sprint
  • Mark Todd - Equestrian
  • Mahe Drysdale - Rowing
  • Hamish Bond & Eric Murray - Rowing

P.S. Go Canada!

the countries were chosen from last olympic's medal table final position and all time medal table location. If I had bothered to change the poll after the Russian doping bans, then Russia would have been removed.

1am and I am watching basketball USA - China

USA is playing with half of their strenght and its +26. They will win the gold medal for sure.

The real contest is for second place.

Rio is a horrible place, why did they not pick a better city..  -_-

Its because they wanted to give a South American nation a chance to host the Olympics. It beat out Tokyo, Madrid, and Chicago Tokyo is getting the 2020 Olympics. Their explanation for Chicago not getting is the city is too violent(it has one of the highest murder rate in America). Ya it has crime, but its not as violent as Rio is. And at least there their isn't zika and you could actually drink the water in Lake Michigan(where they would have held the boating events)

Right after USA, SSSR and Yugoslavia (Serbia is successor) :D

You cant include the Soviets and Yugoslavia in this because the USSR teams included players who were Lithuanian. Likewise, Yugoslavia was split into multiple nations.

I agree. There must have been way better options.

Mark Adams:
Preparing for the Olympic games in Rio is the worst I've ever seen. But we have not a plan B, so we're going to Rio.
