Alternative critical hit mechanic for Smoky

Well, first of all, you have less than 1/2HP, second, the smoky might be m2 as Mr.Latvian said, third, it's close range, so smoky does max damage.

Anyways. Its OP! Even thunder m2 cant do it!

Let us not forget, that often Smokey lies hidden and can score a great many shots before being discovers, by which time it is often too late!  Smokey is OP.  I could accept that i it had a visual indicator like most of the other long range weapons.  Shaft was once a great weapon until they decided to pt the Lazar on it.  People moaned about its stealthy modus operandi so they nerfed it.     Smokey should also have a shot indicator because it is often camping in bushes just like Shaft.

It might be OP, but I like it because it looks nice and performs nice. I don't call it OP cos I face SO many people using stuff like freeze m3 and wrecking my smoky to pieces.. So IMO it ain't OP, it's about skills..

I don't really feel the need for it though. You must have created this topic after you faced an M4 :p

Smoky's random critical is the only thing which makes it stand up in the battle field.

yea because its so hard to get near him if he is camping! i have to use thunder to kill that smoky!

(Shoot near by objects so i can deal him dmg but he cant.)

No! Smoky isnt op! Not at all! Those criticals can only kill dictator m2 (Half hp) with 1 shot! Nothing special. Most of weapons cant deal that damage in even longer period of time.

Proof?

 

~176.5 hp for dictator m2 on half hp (My dictator)

According to wiki, the smoky could have dealt a maximum possible damage of 151 HP which is nowhere near enough to destroy your Dictator (assuming your calculations are correct). So, unless you were suffering from afterburn or were hit by another player at the same time, it's not possible for that smoky to have destroyed you.

According to wiki, the smoky could have dealt a maximum possible damage of 151 HP which is nowhere near enough to destroy your Dictator (assuming your calculations are correct). So, unless you were suffering from afterburn or were hit by another player at the same time, it's not possible for that smoky to have destroyed you.

Smoky killed me.

Dont forget i had 15% from everything and there were no other smokys. Only shafts and railguns.

My dictator has 133 HP

 

Still! dictator is 3rd strongest hull in game! +15% paint equipped!

Your Dictator has 133 HP (50%) and a full MU smoky would deal 151 HP damage. Reducing the damage by 15% ,it comes to around 128 HP. Now, your health isn't exactly 50%....It is nearer to 45% according to the image. So, theoretically speaking, it could have killed you.

P.S. Do keep in mind that 15% protection means that damage dealt by turret will decrease by 15%. It won't increase the HP's in your Hull.

Only the most experienced players are able to do this, so if someone can find such a great spot that will allow them to land shots without being discovered - they deserve to have the bonus damage.

 

Well 151 damage isnt OP?  if he gets 2x crits at time? Noone will survive it.

If you are talking about my idea, then keep in mind that I don't want the critical damage in my version to be the same as now. It will be a lot lower, so that having potential to shoot non-stop crits one after the other doesn't become too OP.

No i dont talk about idea there. But overall smokys critical chance is huge

Oh I see!  Its OK for a faster more mobile less cumbersome weapon system to wipe out tankers by operating with stealth but the very weapon system that was designed to do that can no longer operate in that way , that being Shaft which was given a Lazar to prevent it operating with stealth!  On some maps it is a common occurrence that Smokey operates with stealth behind bushes running along ledges.  It s not the most experienced players either.  Even Railgun when trying to use the same tactics stands out because of its tel tail shot.  It is high time to give Smokey a visible shot similar to Ricochet or Twins.  That would be fair to everyone.  On some maps Smokey is using exactly the same tactics as Shaft but doing it better because it is free to move around.

I have to disagree with you there. Smoky has a really hard damage penalty at large distances, so even though you might be able to stay hidden and constantly shoot enemies from a hiding spot, you're still going to be a lot less effective because the damage will be low when hitting enemies far away. It's pretty much impossible to find a spot that hides you and also gives you a great vantage point over the enemy team to allow you to shoot them non-stop.

Smokey is effective enough at range and auto aim assists and flatters any player just point and shoot.  Shaft on the other hand is very unwealdly takes time to set up a shot is all but blind and gives its self away the instant the scope lights up.  It needs visible shot.

LOL! find spot in enemy base and with DD get 1 shot kills. Easy...

The critical damage should only count towards when you're shooting a single target. So if you have a crit charged and killed the enemy, the crit will reset to base value.

 

P.S. A turret that increases damage after consecutive shots is what I've been waiting for in tanki  :)

I suggested this for Smoky before as an alternative to the critical shot, where you would start with low damage, but the damage would gradually increase to a maximum as you hit more and more consecutive shots on target. Although it would be interesting to see this sort of bonus for other guns.

Disagree, as this will put smoky below other weapons _ Smoky is already weaker than Isida

Well. Close range turrets should be stronger than long/mid range turrets at close combat.

So, what will the highest damage be compared to a regular smoky shot?

I don't know for sure, but I imagine lowest to be 75% of the current normal shot and highest - 150% of the current shot (25% less than the crit).

if i miss the shoot i go back at the first damage  precentage (no) what if i was versus smoky or rico or hammer and i got my aim knock  off imagin a shaft with needle protection  or savamna  he will not die -_- the whole idea is good but that point i talked about is must reconsider about who with me like this
