Here's my opinion. The option to see how much protection opponents have against you is pretty useful. Viewing opponent's techinical features is kinda useless but it's not really ruining anything so it's ok. but this paint thing... zeus costs 500k but clay only 10k?! how does that make any sense. paints should all cost the same amount. look at this http://prntscr.com/bssjnr isida m3 and wasp m2 costing 368k...and then one more thing, paints on low ranks cost too much! 10% against any turret cost 1000 crystals and 15% 7000! Change these things and everyone will be happy.

Hello .. tankionline ..  i have to say that i really hate this  new update .. do you know how many low rankers effected from it , you dont even tell them even in low rankers handbook how to survive this update . so please  remove this as soon as possible

This update is literally the most satisfying thing ever. Now I don't have to sacrifice good looks for good protection, allowing me to attach some mean protections to some limited edition paints. And beyond that, maybe I want to blend in, so I could use that ever handy Forest with like Prodigi protections. :D

My personal opinion my vary from others.

 

The concept of paint design appeals to me. The prices aren't so reasonable though. I feel like they need to be reworked to a level that where they can be achieved realistically.

 

In terms of the Protection Modules, the concept is great. However, the price of a single module is very pricey. I truly feel it should be changed from 250K to just 100K. My point here is that there are many protection modules to choose from and there are many options we as tankers need. Would really slow us down if were are having to save quite a substantial amount of crystals each time. We would miss out the luxury of buying our favourite turrets and hulls, let alone micro upgrading them.

 

I hope my opinion will be taken into consideration as I do feel I speak for many...

If you’ve been following the official Tanki Online channels, you probably know that our programmers have been working on a very important update codenamed «Disintegration». With this update, all paints have been separated into two elements — Paint Elements (purely visual, with no protection whatsoever) and Protection Modules (purely for protective purposes).

 

The great news is that the wait is over, and the update is now in the game!

 

Key points you need to know

  • This update affects ALL existing paints. That includes the paints in your garage.
  • As explained above, all of your paints have been separated into their respective Paint Element and Protection Module.
  • Any micro-upgrades you may have had on your existing paints have been transferred —exactly as they are— to the Protection Module.
  • You will now be able to combine any Paint Element with any Protection Module.

An example

 

Let’s say you have the “Tiger” paint in your garage, with 35/50 micro-upgrades. With this update, your Tiger paint has been separated into:

  • A Paint Element with a tiger pattern (and no protection), and
  • A Protection Module with 35/50 micro-upgrades, and protections against Railgun, Smoky, and Hammer.

 

If you’ve always loved the Tiger paint, but don’t find those protections useful, with this update you’ll be able to combine your Tiger paint with another set of protections that is more useful for your playing style.

 

Other details

 

This update has also introduced the following changes:

  • From now on, only new Protection Modules with new protection combinations will be available for sale.
  • The Protection Modules from old paints that existed prior to the «Disintegration Update», will never again be available for sale. These will remain in the game as «Legacy Modules» in the garages of players who owned the respective paints prior to the update.
  • You’ll be able to view your opponent’s technical details, including equipment level, micro-upgrade level, and resistances. To do this, you’ll need to have your opponent in view and press (and hold) “R” on your keyboard.
  • If your opponent is equipped with resistances against your current weapon, you'll be able to see a shield disintergation_resists_garage_button icon in front of his nickname, and the percentage of protection he has against your turret
  • Paint prices have changed (some are cheaper, others are more expensive), and also affect the prices of any kits in which they are included.
  • Premium paints have been stripped of their protections and will remain purely as Paint Elements. These premium paints will not give you a Protection Module. This also applies to other special paints such as Helper, Champion, Silver and Veteran (where required, these protections will be added by the administration as needed).

 

So, head into the game right now and try the new paints and protection modules!

Here's my opinion. First of all, start an official topic for new ideas for improving this update. And for the love of Tanki please don't show hate there, give ideas. Good enough?

Because I have some good ideas and my posts just fly away unseen as this topic gets replied so fast. !!

I agree, it does look rather confusing with a lot of tanks in one place. Perhaps developers will do something about it.

Yeah they did,look what they did and they will be keep doing so and we will keep shouting like this,Our Posts will be removed here and on server Ostrica will ban us,Dictatorship is what I call this.

Can you tell me why Star ladder was closed? I know it is bit offtopic but tell me why!!

Update is OK but I will not buy paints anymore since they are only for show-off and protection is to be paid separately, and prices are sky-high.

 

I dont see any profit in this excessive paint-prices, not for players nor for Tanki - who will buy paints anymore?

Why not make stuff easy i know u can only IGNORE this but u cant reply

 

Make a Poll Using on this topic or make a google form (incase u make google form please be honest) with the heading " Do you like the update " and 2 options "Yes" or "No" This poll will remain till 48 hours after 48 hrs if the majority likes the update , it can stay and if the majority dislikes the update , give us back the previous version

 

 

P.S this will make things fair and square u cant argue u can only ignore this!

The update can only work on a one to one battle and that too on small maps where one can focus (has the opportunity and time) to study what the other opponent has. On medium size maps its way too confusing with so many players in the screen. And in larger maps its not needed at all as one is continuously running. Plus its doesnt make sense to me why the looks and protection have to be separated. It was working fine before where one knew the protection by looking at the paint and not wasting time pressing the R button.

My apologies for taking so long to reply. Things just been piling up at a really fast rate. I would love to reply to all of your posts individually as I usually do, but as you can imagine, it's pretty much impossible.

While it doesn't answer ALL questions, it covers quite a bit of ground. Between that post and the original post, most of your questions and concerned should have been answered, so I ask you to please check there before posting any questions.

 

Next, a word of reassurance — we're taking note of your feedback, of your worries, and your complaints. No, they're not falling on deaf ears. But I need you to realize that these things take some time. We'll do our best to strike a good balance so that everyone is happy. It won't be tomorrow, or maybe next week, but it will happen.

 

Right now, what I need you all to do, is to calm down and continue discussing this issue with a level head and cordial tone of voice. I know some of you are upset. And I don't blame you. But please, take the time to construct your criticism in a way that will actually help you get what you want, rather than get confrontational.

I hope your words are true... But you have failed my hopes many times so far. Well, here you get another chance

 

I am not going to dig through this topic, but somebody (a moderator, admin or helper) said that you don't have to press R all the time to see others' resistances. Well, it is not true. I do need to press R all the time to see resistances of other guys.

 

Another thing, there is too much info. All I need to know is: do the enemies on my screen have protection against my current turret? If so, how high it is? That's all! I don't need to see other turret protections or protections of my teammates! This info could be displayed when I press TAB or go to the garrage. Also the info about models and MUs could be there. All that stuff displayed when in battle makes the essential information (protection against my turret) hard to find and it is just messing the view. What's more "funny", when I press TAB, I can see only information about resistances to my current turret... That's just the opposite way it should be implemented! When in battle, I need a quick information. I can press TAB when waiting for respawn or when no enemies are nearby and read more detailed information then.

 

There are new icon-graphics for the protections. Old players will learn them (however, they will need some time), while it is totally messy for newcommers. It is another reason why only protection against current turret should be displayed when in battle. Also, the information should be displayed automatically, so I don't have to press R all the time. You know, I got only 2 hands - one controls arrow keys, the other controls Z/X/C/spacebar - not enough fingers/hands to control R.

 

Making the prices for some paints higher than they used to be is ridiculous. The paints like Zeus used to be fancy looking + give protection, while now they are just fancy looking and... cost more. Zeus costs 500k crystals which is the equivalent of 2 protection modules M3 and is more than old Prometheus or Stormbringer kits, which contained Zeus paint. Where is the logic? I agree that they cannot all cost 5k, but 500k is way too much. IMO, paints should cost up to 50k, maybe 100k for some special ones. However, if kits do not contain such paints, I am OK with it, I don't need to buy any paint. However, as I wrote in one of my earlier posts (or was it in Product Kits topic?) - buying turret + hull separately costs less than buying a kit with the same turret + hull + just_fancy_looking_but_useless_paint (e.g. Raiden kit), which is totally against the idea of product kits. And IMO this is the reason why most players are unhappy.

 

Edit: The problem with product kits must be solved ASAP. Waiting weeks for swapping paints with protection modules or replacing old kits with new ones is unacceptable. Some people (like me) are planning their expenses months earlier. The update was introduced in 1 day, not giving enough time for many players to prepare. We also need to know all the reworked product kits all at once. Waiting another 4 weeks to learn what has changed is unacceptable, especially since we got many new kits in June and we already waited for the full rotation cycle to see them all. Now you want me to wait another month to see a new cycle and then a few weeks to buy the kit I want? Morevoer, the longer the current kits remain, the more people get frustrated and more unaware players buy them losing their hard-earned crystals. What will you do when (and if) the kits and prices are reworked? Will you cancell all the product kits purchases done since today morning? I doubt. You will just make those people more angry and maybe quit the game. I that what you want?

I like the split in protection and looks. I only don't understand why.

 

Maybe you can separate the turret look and what it does as well, like a hammer suddenly shoots a railgun beam :-)

Or a bend in my smokey turret and it still shoots straight.

Or t-key does fire and y-key does freezing.

So many changes are still possible. You can always put a sign above the tank to explain.

 

I don't like that there is now old and new mixed. Some people can have modules up to 50% protection (yep, costs to upgrade), and others are not able to do something like that. Some have at low level a very high protection ability already, that others might be able to buy at much higher ranks.

And a bit strange paint is in the kits, but protection is not.

 

Why don't you value all the old paints and stuff, and give people the option to sell or trade for the new paints/protections? Then everyone is using the same again. You could even put  date for that.

This is a rubbish update. Paint is now pointless, I don't give a damn what my tank looks like. No point in buying kits anymore as they include a pointless and very expensive paint. Very very poor.
