Paint Separation Update

The Zero module is useless because it has no protections. What is the point of the Zero module?

For recruits as mentioned above but also so people can play matches without protection - eg. duel against a friend, same weapons, no protection

First i have to say I really really hate this new update. :angry: :angry: By this seperation only the higher rankers get the advantages.For the lower rankers this paint seperationa re too expensive and also the kits' prices are increases too much.And after the seperation why do you even put the paint elements they dont give protection.Now Premium paint don't have 15% protection againt all turrents and mines.Then why do we even use premium paint so I think u should remove the paint elements and premium paint or undo the paint seperation update.It's just not fair to all the tankers.

Please take look at this and give a solution to this.

Though I have to say bp m3 is ruined,now wasp is 1-shot its always targeted, and impossible to use, so now you see way less wasp users the wasp speed isn't too much of an advantage and its size for that matter as a decent hornet can still shoot it,so I'd say to give wasp automatic 10% protection like the m2's.now you hardly see any wasp m3s anymore.ts called xp/bp not xp v bp

Cedric can you tell me why did the XP/BP format need balancing when no one had never actually complained about BP being 2 shot? XP/BP was perfectly fine before the devs decided to "balance" it :)

This update has so much negative feedback because of the following reason:

 

Suppose there is a game which has high quality graphics and there is a replica of same game with low quality graphics. Now Graphics doesn't affect your game play right? But of course the high quality game will attract more players than low quality one. Same is the case with new paints update, now the good looking paints are expensive to ridiculous amounts and despite the fact that paints don't effect game play but they play a major part in attracting players to play this game because anyone can get bored of playing with 1 paint all the time. So when players get bored they will ultimately stop playing the game as often as before. I hope you understand my point ;)

I was sent here by the yellow text in the lobby chat telling me to post my options and ideas about improvements for the paint update, presumably because most of Tanki hates the update to at least some extent, me included... Anyways, I'll try to be as unbiased as possible... 

 

1. The paints cost too much

 

This is what really ticks people off about the update. The prices of paints is simply ridiculous. What you said about why the paints cost so much doesn't make any sense. You can't simply say that now the paints' costs are based on the looks of the paints, and that previously they were based on protections. Now, the paints not only DON'T have protection, but they cost more! That doesn't make any sense at all. The paints need to cost less than they did before, not more. Basically, my logic is if paints + protections =  a certain price, then paint = a certain price - a different price (this depends on what protections the paint had before).

 

2. The new paints are just old ugly holiday paints

 

That's just a bad marketing strategy, Tanki. Now no one trusts you anymore...

 

3. XP/BP is lame

 

This isn't really a big deal, but it's kind of unfair that Wasp doesn't get any protection at M3, because even before the update, it had a lot of disadvantages, like low power and acceleration, and low weight. This made Wasp really easy to flip with an M2 or M3 Railgun, and when you compare a Wasp with 10% Rail protection to a standard M3 Hornet, you'll notice that for what Wasp gains in speed and maneuverability, it loses in power and weight. This means that while Wasp goes faster than Hornet, it has a more difficult time staying on its tracks (though slightly off topic, a good BP user, or Wasp user in general can mitigate this with some practice and facing their opponent the correct way) and can't stop and go in a different direction as easily as Hornet can. In fact, Wasp is really bad at stopping and going in a different direction; however, with quick turns and not stopping, Wasp doesn't have much need to go in a different direction by stopping as it doesn't need to stop moving in order to change direction/ dodge a shot. However, a lot of what I said above may contradict my opinion that Wasp should be allowed 10% protection. But remember how Winter had 5% protection from Railgun? Why don't we just give BP players a free module of 5-15% (depending on the M of the hull), so that a one shot is possible but less likely? This will teach players to be grateful to get one shots, and will also teach players where to hit the hull with the Railgun in order to get a one shot.

 

Anyways, these were more of my opinions than actually what you should change; in short, be honest to your players about what's going on; transparency, make the costs of the paints LESS than they were before the update, not MORE, and if you want, you can give Wasp a little encouragement by giving it a little extra protection from the Fear Machine (even though I don't play BP, I thought it was kind of unfair that Wasps, especially lower ranks still learning how to use the hull, were accommodated with protection that would possibly not allow them to survive one shot from M3 Railgun.

I do not care about the price of paints by themselves. I do care that the kits contain paints and no protection modules and the discount now can be 15% if the paint doesn't cost much.

 

I also care about the fact that MU of protection modules cost much more than legacy paints with the same protections.

 

Another thing I care is that you cannot get something like 42% defense against thunder like legacy emerald had. You need to buy a module and MU it with many crystals in order to play with thunder like you used to.

I do believe they listen to us. I suggested the V key and it is now a part of the game. The paints are not needed to play with, so new paints are useless for me.. Protection modules are much more significant and thess are my main problem with the current update.

I genarally don't have a problem with the seperation of paints and protection modules and I know that paints had to get more expensive because they provided appearance not protection but the kits prices has gone up really high and some kits have become very cheap so now people will be buying the cheapest kit and this will spoil the concept of the kits that's why i have a good solution for this change some of the kits paints for example the bulldog kit has the alien paint which makes its pice go to 110k very expensive for m1 but if you change its paint with a cheaper one the price will decrease to a more suitable one, therefore ca you plz change some of the kits paints to balance the prices and make the concept of buying kits more fun to think about better than just buying the kit with the cheapest price and if you do this it will balance the prices making tankers think deeply in what to buy and this brings diversity in the battlefield because i none of use wants to fight an army of a specific kit.

i want to buy a kit with a paint worth 180,000 do paints come with protection if not i might not buy the kit plz answer thx :)

As far as I can tell, kits do not come with protection at the moment.

I just saw in garage that all the protection of 48% protection were removed,I mean that those players who had already bought it have advantage?

What a noob update :l I should say that you don't really care for E sports.We can't buy prodigi anymore?? Insipte of too much oppostion you are enforcing this update and this would become my reason to leave in soon future.

Awesome update!

 

Just one request for now: Add two separate modules for XP/BP format - one with 10% from Rail and one with 20%, so that players with Wasp and Hornet M2 will be able to access XP/BP battles easier. Or just make it so that modules are completely unnecessary for entering format battles and the protection is applied automatically depending on what hull you have.

 

And a few changes for the R key would help:

  • Fix the fact that the display gets too messy when pressing R with a lot of enemies in front of you
  • Make it so the R key works after death and while respawning (i.e. all the time), because those few seconds are the best time to check players' stats
  • Remove the info banners for teammates (or make it possible to disable them in settings), because most players don't really want or need to know what their own team has.

My comments:

I have three single protections. Now I cannot micro-update them with the new protection module system.
Does this mean that I have now to spend 100K cry for a new module to get micro-updates ?

That's unfair.

Could it be possible I combine the three singles in one ? 

 

I  have fully upgrade 2 out of 3 singles. I bought 3 singles to adapt to battle ... and to my wallet. Now you can buy only modules of 3 at 100 k. Very difficult to improve protection. Players with a triple protection before the change can update for cheaper. With my rank some are at 30 k in the description but in the garage they are at 100k if I want to get it.

 

FYI, I have the equivalent Griffon T-A but in separate singles. At least I should be allowed to get Griffon T-A M0 at 5k (although I will loose some protection points in some of them). That was why I think it's unfair.
